Blackbird Enterprise Service Bus 1.0.0
Blackbird Enterprise Service Bus is the first enterprise service bus (ESB) for PHP developers. more>>
Blackbird Enterprise Service Bus is the first enterprise service bus (ESB) for PHP developers. The project provides a run-time container that loads, manages, and executes classes, provides connectivity and utility services to access external resources, such as message queues and collects and exposes metrics data to management tools
Main features:
- Use PHP to rapidly develop applications and application integration services
- Easy to learn and use - get coding in minutes
- Written for developers by developers
- Command-line and protocol-driven management and monitoring
- Easy object configuration, deployment, and load/unload tasks
- Less memory usage than a Java ESB
- Metrics collection, making it easy to develop monitoring and management tools
- Extensible protocol handler layer - supports STOMP , SMTP, and Jabber out of the box
What Its Not:
- A full-blown, Java ESB like Apache ServiceMix
- A replacement for other middleware, such as Apache ActiveMQ
- As fast, in theory, as a compiled language (although see below)
- Fully object-oriented (because PHP is not)
- Written by architects for architects
Why Are You Doing This When Already Exists?
ITema provides managed, hosted applications to small businesses, with an emphasis on integration. Part of our vision is to offer our customers choice, so they arent locked into a specific product or vendor. We need very good integration technology or well end up with an unmanageable spider web of integration hooks. An ESB is tailor-made for this type of work. It gives us the loose coupling we need to let applications run independently, and handles grunt-work tasks like communicating via message queues so we can focus on writing the code that does the real work.
The available Java ESB products didnt meet our needs. PHP was a more natural choice, but there was no ESB available for it. We decided it was better for us to write what we needed than to try to shoehorn what we were doing into another product. Our hope is that by releasing Blackbird under the GPL, other developers will get as much out of it as we have.
Blackbird isnt intended to be an isolated project, or a replacement for a Java ESB. In fact, we anticipated that it could be very useful to use both a Java and PHP ESB at the same time, in different layers of an architecture. Blackbirds design makes this straightforward, and it expects to communicate via STOMP with a message queue such as Apache ActiveMQ. It can even use the same ActiveMQ instance that supports a ServiceMix environment, so writing a Blackbird component to communicate with a ServiceMix component is easy!

shorten 3.6.0
shorten is a fast, low complexity waveform coder (i.e. audio compressor), originally written by Tony Robinson at SoftSound. more>>
shorten is a fast, low complexity waveform coder (i.e. audio compressor), originally written by Tony Robinson at SoftSound. It can operate in both lossy and lossless modes. More information can be found here.
The last official version released by Tony was 2.3a. In the fall of 2000, I started hacking on the code to add unix support for seek tables, which Wayne Stielau had developed and implemented for the Windows platform. With his help, I was able to release version 3.0 on 9/29/2000, and have maintained the unix 3.x versions ever since. Seek tables allow one to seek through a .shn file in real-time while playing it in various audio players.
Here are some of plugins that support seek tables:
xmms-shn (for XMMS)
ShnAmp (for WinAmp)
foo_shn (for foobar2000)
in_shn (for J River Media Jukebox/Center)
Shorten plugin (for MacAmp Lite X - now defunct)
Enhancements:
- Fixed a seek table bug which, in rare cases, caused seek tables for certain files (e.g. ones that end with silence) to be generated incorrectly. Seek tables created with the -k, -s or -S options are not affected. To help distinguish older, possibly buggy seek tables from newer ones, the seek table revision number has been bumped from 0 to 1. Thanks to Peter Kunath for the report and the fix.
- Updated the -i option to determine whether a file is an external seek table file, a file with seek tables appended, or neither. If seek tables are present, the seek table revision number is now shown.

WWW::A9Toolbar 0.01
WWW::A9Toolbar is a class to allow perl to access the a9.com toolbar. more>>
WWW::A9Toolbar is a class to allow perl to access the a9.com toolbar.
SYNOPSIS
use WWW::A9Toolbar;
my $a9 = WWW::A9Toolbar->new( { email => my@email.address,
password => mya9password,
connect => 1 } );
my @bookmarks = $a9->find_bookmarks({ title => qr/searchtext/ });
my $newbookmark = $a9->add_bookmark({ title => My Bookmark,
url => http://mybookmark.com,
type => url });
The WWW::A9Toolbar class implements the functions provided by the a9.com toolbar and interface. The toolbar allows a9.com users to view their a9.com bookmarks, remove and edit them. It also allows annotating of URLs via the diary entry textfield.
So far this module supports the following methods:
METHODS
new (constructor)
my $a9 = WWW::A9Toolbar->new( { email => my@email.address,
password => mya9password,
connect => 1 } );
The new constructor creates and returns a WWW::A9Toolbar object, it should be passed the a9 login credentials as a hashref. Optionally, if connect => 1 is passed to the constructor, it will also connect to the service.
connect (method)
$a9->connect();
Connect to the a9.com service, using the credentials supplied to the new constructor. Returns true on success.
customer_id (method)
my $id = $a9->customer_id();
Returns the users current customer-id, which is unique for each connection to the a9.com service.
scan_cookies (method)
$a9->scan_cookies();
Extracts the data from the cookies. Not much use at the moment.
get_userdata (method)
my $userdata = $a9->get_userdata();
Fetches the user data for this account, returns a hashref containing the users nickname, the date they agreed to the terms of use, their uniquekey and a list of columns they have set in their a9.com preferences.
get_bookmarks (method)
my @bookmarks = $a9->get_bookmarks({ since => time() - 3600 });
Returns all the bookmarks saved with a9.com. Optionally causes the module to refetch all bookmarks created since the given epoch time. The data returned is a list of hashrefs, each containing the fields:
guid - A unique ID for the bookmark
parentguid - A unique ID for the bookmarks parent folder, 0 if it is at the top level.
ordinal - A real number used for sorting the bookmarks. (99999 for deleted items)
bmtype - The item type, "folder" or "url".
title - The title of the URL or Folder.
url - The url of a url type bookmark, empty for a folder.
shortannotation - A note added to the bookmark, via the diary functions.
timestamp - The time that this bookmark was created, in miliseconds.
deleted - "true" for deleted items, "false" otherwise.
find_bookmarks (method)
my @bookmarks = $a9->find_bookmarks({ title => qr/mytitle/,
url => qr/myurl/ });
A function to filter the bookmarks, looking for items that match the given regular expressions. At least one of title or url must be supplied.
add_bookmark (method)
my $newbookmark = $a9->add_bookmark({ title => My Title,
url => http://foo.com,
type => url,
parent => $parentitem,
before => $beforeitem });
Create a new bookmark on a9.com. The completed bookmark will be returned, with the fields all filled in, as per the get_bookmarks() method. The type can be set to either "folder" or "url". The parent item should be a previousl fetched bookmark folder object. The before item should be a previously fetched bookmark object that this new bookmark will be placed before (i.e. it will get a lower ordinal, a9.com sorts its display in ascending ordinal order).
delete_bookmark (method)
$a9->delete_bookmark([$bookmark,$bookmark2]);
Sets the passed in list of bookmarks (arrayref), as deleted. Returns 1 on success, warns which items it could not delete on failure. The items passed in should be previously fetched bookmark objects.
get_diary_entries (method)
## Not implemented yet.
add_diary_entry (method)
$a9->add_diary_entry({url => http://foo.com,
text => This is the foo.com website,
title => Foo Com });
Annotate a url using the given text. The url does not have to be a bookmarked url. The annotation will be returned in the shortannotation field of the bookmark when fetched with get_bookmarks().
remove_diary_entry (method)
$a9->remove_diary_entry({ url => http://foo.com });
Remove a previously created annotation. The result of this is a redirect (302) if it succeeds, and thus is hard to check.

JamochaMUD 2.0-07-06-03
JamochaMUD offers Unicode, plug-in, and multi-language support to allow a more enjoyable MUCKing/MUDding experience. more>>
JamochaMUD is a MUD/Muck client written in Java.
JamochaMUD offers Unicode, plug-in, and multi-language support (8 different languages) to allow a more enjoyable MUCKing/MUDding experience.
JamochaMUD project features command history, synchronized window controls, experimental SOCKS 5 support, and greatly improved ANSI colour support.
It plays nice on Unix systems, supports a wide range of MU*s, and also includes emulation of some TinyFugue editor controls. It uses Java 1.1, and includes classes to be easily reused in other Java applications.
Main features:
General items
- JamochaMUD can handle Multiple MU* connections simultaneously
- Support for both terminated and unterminated lines (common on many MU*s)
- ANSI Colour support
- Different frames (timers, main window, etc.) may be moved, hidden, or shown either synchronised or independent of each other.
- Multi-language support (languages that are not supported currently can easily be added by folks that neednt even know how to program).
- Unicode support (may currently not work?!), which allows the display of double-byte languages and Non-western language font support, such as Russian cyrillic characters
- Support for JamochaMUD plugins the extend the features of the basic MU* client
- Socks5 support (perhaps limited, but it does work!)
- Programmable macros and definitions
File menu items
- Save your session output to a (plain text) file
Edit menu items
- Just the usual cut and paste features
Connection menu items
- Quick reconnect to a MU* that you had just left.
Option menu items
- Changing font size, type, and (base) colour
- Changeable background colour
- Assign external programs to deal with special features, such as URLs.
- Socks5 support
- Manage plugins independently of each other
- Split Frames, which allows the input and output windows to be either combined or totally independent of one another.
- Autofocus input (automagically sends typing to the text-input window if another frame of JamochaMUD is currently in focus).
- Smooth display turned "double-buffering" of the MU* output area on or off. With double-buffering the redraw of the area is smoother, but slower. With double-buffering off, the refresh appears faster, but flickers more. (A personal taste thing!)
- The ability to use Unicode characters when connected to a MU*. (This must be supported by the MU*).
- The option to enable Tiny-fugue emulation. This enables JamochaMUD to emulate some of TFs " editor" keyboard controls.
Plug-ins menu: allows quick access to the properties of a plug-in
Help menu items
- The Help function connects you to the JMUD pages... In theory this will supply you with the most up-to-date JamochaMUD info. Yes, always on the bleeding edge of text-based MU* technology!
Additions via available plug-ins
- Replacing JMUDs title with your current location
- Gags and triggers allowing highlighting/dumping of text as well as audio hints (as of 2000-08-12).
Enhancements:
- This release features a change in the spell check libraries used, and supports mySpell (OpenOffice.org) dictionaries instead of the previous ASpell dictionaries.

mod_corba 0.1
mod_corba is an exposes Apache module API via CORBA. more>>
mod_corba is an exposes Apache module API via CORBA. With this, any object in any language on any system can be used as a plugin module for an Apache web server, without recompiling or restarting the server. Since the entire internal operation of the Apache web server is based on the module API, the possibilities are almost limitless.
Mod_Corba uses C language bindings of the fast, lightweight ORBit ORB. This minimizes the overhead for using CORBA objects to extend the Web server.
The Mod_Corba distribution includes source code for a demonstration request handler as an example of an Apache CORBA extension.
Main features:
- Per-directory, per-URI, and per-server configuration
- Arbitrary number of handler objects
- Apache config files can set arbitrary environment variables for each handler
- Handler objects can process all 10 phases of Apache request handling, including authentication, authorization, and logging.

wavbreaker 0.8.1
wavbreaker is a tool to split a wave file up into multiple waves. more>>
wavbreaker is a tool to split a wave file up into multiple waves.
This applications purpose in life is to take a wave file and break it up into multiple wave files. It makes a clean break at the correct position to burn the files to an audio cd without any dead air between the tracks. It will only read wave files, so use an appropriate tool to convert ogg, mp3, etc. files and then break them up.
The gui displays a summary of the entire wave file being worked on at the top. The middle portion displays a zoomed in view that allows you to select where to start playing the track and where it will make the break when the break button is clicked. When a break is made, another entry will be added to the bottom portion of the display. This is where you may change file names and select/unselect tracks that will be written when you click save.
There is also a command line tool to merge wave files together, wavmerge. So, if you download a show and dont like how it was tracked, you can merge them together with wavmerge and then break them back up with wavbreaker. This tool will only work on files that are alike. For example, 44100 khz sample rate, 16-bit sample size, etc. I would suggest a tool named sox to do any conversion you may need.

Graph::Writer::TGXML 0.01
Graph::Writer::TGXML is a Perl module used to write out directed graph as TouchGraph LinkBrowser XML. more>>
Graph::Writer::TGXML is a Perl module used to write out directed graph as TouchGraph LinkBrowser XML.
SYNOPSIS
use Graph;
use Graph::Writer::TGXML;
$graph = Graph->new();
# add edges and nodes to the graph
$writer = Graph::Writer::TGXML->new();
$writer->write_graph($graph, mygraph.xml);
Graph::Writer::TGXML is a class for writing out a directed graph in a format suitable for use with TouchGraphs LinkBrowser. The graph must be an instance of the Graph class, which is actually a set of classes developed by Jarkko Hietaniemi.
The XML format contains Nodes and Edges. For nodes, the label, URL and tooltip attributes are used, for label, url and hint respectively. For edges, no attributes are currently used.
METHODS
new()
Constructor - generate a new writer instance.
$writer = Graph::Writer::TGXML->new();
This doesnt take any arguments.
write_graph()
Write a specific graph to a named file:
$writer->write_graph($graph, $file);
The $file argument can either be a filename, or a filehandle for a previously opened file.
