Free inventory software for linux

H-inventory project was developed to meet the needs for a training center of network administrators.
Indeed, the stations are redeployed every week and are not linked to active directory, those are renamed each week so we cannot base us on the name.
The problem is thus the identification of the machine. We thus decided to base us on the concatenation of all the MAC addresses of the machine.

Linux Inventory Aggregator is designed to be a simple, self-contained (as much as possible) script for gathering hardware information.

In the first example, a stock Mandrake system is shown with a single processor, 386MB of memory, an attached SCSI disk array, and several internal IDE drives.

Inmersa is a complete and integrated back and front office solution. The project uses a Web-based interface to provide ERP, CRM, a Web portal, a store front with a content management system, and portal creation.
Among other features, Inmersa delivers sales, purchases, dashboards, scorecards, mail reports, billing, finances, services, self services, user roles, inventory, electronic picking, warehouses, orders, budgets, and delivery notes.
Enhancements:
- This is the first release under an open source license.

Network Tracker application is a user (MAC) tracker daemon, for big LANs (campus).
The Network Trackerd builds a table which records which user is connected on which port of a switch by scanning the devices with SNMP in your inventory which is in a MySQL database. Trackerd keeps that table up-to-date by scanning the network regularly.
Thus, you will have the opportunity to know exactly where a user (MAC, IP, UID) is connected on your network !
Your devices are also checked with ping and SNMP, and you are informed with e-mail when any of the devices is not alive.
More over, you may produce various reports about your network infrastructure on the web (cgi) or by using other tools.
Network tracker eases especially to find and shutdown the switch port of the users, when their PCs on the network start to spread viruses or warms using lots of bandwith; so you are able to stop that kind harmfull traffic on the network.
Main features:
- Collects all the MAC addresses and port numbers from CAM tables of the switches.
- Finds IP addresses of the MACs from ARP tables of the routers.
- Finds LDAP uid of the user.

Enhancements:
- trackerd is now multi-threaded and works very quickly because a new thread is created for each network device.

Interchange provides a mature Web application development environment.
Interchange is a mature Web application development environment with a focus on ecommerce and dynamic content management.
It offers session and user management, database connectivity (both via SQL and a database abstraction layer), templating, a shopping cart, payment processing, inventory, encryption (via GnuPG, PGP, etc.), tax and shipping calculation, discounts, Web-based administration, localization, event routing, SOAP-based RPC, a custom tag language akin to CFML, and the full power of Perl. It grew out of two earlier projects, MiniVend and Tallyman.
Enhancements:
- A DoS exploit caused by carefully crafted HTTP POST requests has been fixed.
- An apparent Perl bug that allowed code called by DispatchRoutines to overwrite the routines arrays themselves has been worked around.
- Masking of unencrypted credit card numbers to work with a custom MV_CREDIT_CARD_INFO_TEMPLATE that does not match the regexp has been fixed.
- The regexp has been fixed so that it removes the CVV2 value from the unencrypted data.
- A shipping problem with the temporary mv_shipping cart that could cause trouble in cart recalculations has been fixed.
- There are other various bugfixes and minor enhancements.
