RDVIS tool helps programmers pin-point the sources of cache misses and poor temporal locality in their source code.
The visualization often directs the experienced programmer towards the necessary program transformations within a few minutes.
The tool consists of two parts: a GUI that visualizes the low temporal locality patterns, and a patched GCC compiler to extract the low-locality patterns from programs.
Enhancements:
- Improved cluster window interaction: allows selection of individual reference pairs, allows the height of the basic block vector to be proportional to its weight, and has a number of different sort options for the basic block vectors.

RabbIT 3.10
RabbIT is a mutating, caching webproxy to speed up surfing over slow links. more>>
RabbIT is a proxy for HTTP, it is HTTP/1.1 compliant (testing being done with Co-Advisors test, http://coad.measurement-factory.com/) and should hopefully support the latest HTTP/x.x in the future. RabbITs main goal is to speed up surfing over slow links by removing unnecessary parts (like background images) while still showing the page mostly like it is. For example, we try not to ruin the page layout completely when we remove unwanted advertising banners. The page may sometimes even look better after filtering as you get rid of pointless animated gif images.
Since filtering the pages is a "heavy" process, RabbIT caches the pages it filters but still tries to respect cache control headers and the old style "pragma: no-cache". RabbIT also accepts request for nonfiltered pages by prepending "noproxy" to the adress (like http://noproxy.www.altavista.com/). Optionally, a link to the unfiltered page can be inserted at the top of each page automatically.
RabbIT is developed and tested under Solaris and Linux. Since the whole package is written in java, the basic proxy should run on any plattform that supports java. Image processing is done by an external program and the recomended program is convert (found in ImageMagick). RabbIT can of course be run without image processing enabled, but then you lose a lot of the time savings it gives.
RabbIT works best if it is run on a computer with a fast link (typically your ISP). Since every large image is compressed before it is sent from the ISP to you, surfing becomes much faster at the price of some decrease in image quality. If some parts of the page are already cached by the proxy, the speedup will often be quite amazing. For 1275 random images only 22% (2974108 bytes out of a total of 13402112) were sent to the client. That is 17 minutes instead of 75 using 28.8 modem.
RabbIT works by modifying the pages you visit so that your browser never sees the advertising images, it only sees one fixed image tag (that image is cached in the browser the first time it is downloaded, so sequential requests for it is made from the browsers cache, giving a nice speedup). For images RabbIT fetches the image and run it through a processor giving a low quality jpeg instead of the animated gif-image. This image is very much smaller and download of it should be quick even over a slow link (modem).
Main features:
- Compress text pages to gzip streams. This reduces size by up to 75%
- Compress images to 10% jpeg. This reduces size by up to 95%
- Remove advertising
- Remove background images
- Cache filtered pages and images
- Uses keepalive if possible
- Easy and powerful configuration
- Multi threaded solution written in java
- Modular and easily extended
- Complete HTTP/1.1 compliance
Enhancements:
- This release tries to make parsing of non-HTML break down more nicely.
- It fixes a problem with broken image downloads for some users.

KwickDo software aims at easing the creation of new events/todo based on pre-recorded templates. For example if you generally set your meetings to start at 10:00, last 1 hour and have a reminder 15 minutes before it starts, you can create this as a template and quickly create a new Event by typing #meeting# Meet with Bob as your Events name. The meeting will be created accordingly.
Note that it uses libkcals iCal implementation so it should be compatible with any iCal compatible organizer (such as Korganizer of course).
This is very Alpha version, with lots of things hard coded that should be configurable, and no internationalization (yet). It requires Qt4, KDE4 and libkdepim4 (+ headers).
I included the KDevelop files so itll be easy for you to have everything running if you use KDevelop.

Skipole Network Monitor project is a simple network monitor with built in web server.
It allows the user to input host IP addresses, it then pings these hosts every five minutes and displays their status via a built-in web server, on port 8000.
So calling http://your_pc_address:8000 will display pages showing green, yellow or red host or group symbols.
Each host is pinged four times every five minutes, and symbols are displayed as:
green : if three or four pings are successfull
yellow : if only one or two are successfull
red : if all four fail
As well as hosts, group symbols are displayed, and can be opened to show hosts, or sub-groups nested within. The operator can create groups, and sub-groups via the gui.

Snort Alert Monitor 20050206
SAM is a program to monitor (in real-time) the number of alerts generated by Snort. more>>
SAM is a program to monitor (in real-time) the number of alerts generated by Snort. Having recently set up Snort and ACID I felt like there was something missing.
Snort was great for identifying suspicous traffic and ACID was great for digging in to the details but I needed something that was a little higher overview and able to sounds alarms if certain conditions were met.
For instance if I was attacked 100 times in a 5 minutes period. SAM does not replace Snort or ACID but rather it compliments them.

Rails 1.1
Rails is a full-stack framework for developing database-backed web applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern. more>>
Rails web framework is a full-stack framework for developing database-backed web applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern.
From the Ajax in the view, to the request and response in the controller, to the domain model wrapping the database, Rails gives you a pure-Ruby development environment. To go live, all you need to add is a database and a web server.
Everyone from startups to non-profits to enterprise organizations are using Rails. Rails is all about infrastructure so its a great fit for practically any type of web application Be it software for collaboration, community, e-commerce, content management, statistics, management, you name it.
Rails works with a wealth of web servers and databases. For web server, we recommend Apache or lighttpd running either FastCGI or SCGI. For database, you can use MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Firebird. Just about any operating system will do, but we recommend a nix-based one for deployment.
If you need hosting, TextDrive is the official Ruby on Rails host, offering fantastic plans with a knowledgeable staff. Whether you need shared or dedicated hosting, these guys are experts in Ruby on Rails.
Creating a weblog in 15 minutes
In 15 minutes, we go from scratch to complete weblog engine: with comments and an administrative interface. But since the actual application only took 58 lines to complete, we also have time left over to do unit testing, examine the logs, and play around with the domain model.
Putting Flickr on Rails
Ruby on Rails is not just for playing with your local database, its for taking on the web. So in 5 minutes, we create a web-based search engine for Flickr using their public API with all the fades and glamour of Ajax. Hows that for a low-tech alternative to something fancy like Flash.
Evolving your database schema without a sweat
Before you know it, youll have data that you care about in your application. Which makes adding, removing, or changing the schema an error-prone, time-consuming, and frustrating process. That is, unless youre using Ruby on Rails. In 20 minutes, youll learn all about how database migrations can make your schema as flexible as your code with no fear of data loss.

Image Database 2.1
KDE Image Database (KimDaBa) is a tool for indexing, searching, and viewing images. more>>
If you are like me you have hundreds or even thousands of images ever since you got your first camera, some taken with a normal camera other with a digital camera.
Through all the years you believed that until eternity you would be able to remember the story behind every single picture, you would be able to remember the names of all the persons on your images, and you would be able to remember the exact date of every single image.
I personally realized that this was not possible anymore, and especially for my digital images - but also for my paper images - I needed a tool to help me describe my images, and to search in the pile of images. This is exactly what KimDaba is all about.
With KimDaBa it is today possible for me to find any image I have in less than 5 seconds, let that be an image with a special person, an image from a special place, or even both.
There is of course no such thing as free lunch - with KimDaBa this means that you have to annotate all your images before you are set. KimDaBa is, however, highly optimized for annotating images, so annotating 100 images in 10 minutes are no way impossible.
Enhancements:
- BUGFIX: Using kapp->invokeHelp to show help rather than kapp->invokeBrowser, as the later doesnt work unless your default browser is konqueror.
- BUGFIX: the category was sometimes shown twice in the status bar
- BUGFIX: remove tokens didnt work for KDE 3.4
