IMAP utils software contains a set of simple utilities for managing IMAP emails.
imap-purge
Purges old read and unread mails from folders.
imap-folders
Creates folders on IMAP.
imap-stats
Shows summary about unread and unseen mails.

sKimap SuperKaramba theme will display the number of new and unread emails in your imap mail account. It can monitor your imap server mailboxes for new and unread messages. It will auto-size itself to accommodate the number of mailboxes you are watching.

The number of mailboxes is only limited by your screen real-estate. You can choose which of the mailboxes on your account you want to watch.

You can set the update interval, and which email client opens when you click the top of the theme. Configuration is all done through a configuration dialog.

Manitou-Mail is an open source database-driven mail user-agent and associated utilities. Manitou-Mail project provides a framework and programs for storing, exposing, and managing mail as organized data in a PostgreSQL database. It can be viewed as a versatile alternative to an imap-aware client using imap server storage.
Companies or organizations that use organization-wide mailboxes such as info, support, sales... and need to share the work between the people processing them, monitor and analyze the flow of messages, or even hook their other databases to the messaging system.
Experienced personal users that are willing to put a database at the center of their mail architecture, thus getting powerful retrieval capabilities, extended categorizing of messages, open representation of the mail as structured data.
The user interface runs on Unix/X11 and MS-Windows and is connected to the database, not the mail system. An independant Perl daemon process, controllable by an administrator, is responsible for fetching and sending the mail.

squid-imap provides a piece of oftware to authenticate squid users via an IMAP server.

squid-imap is a basic squid auth helper that authenticates usernames and passwords via an IMAP server.

PHPwebmail is a Web-based IMAP and SMTP mail client. Often it is not possible to make outside mail connections from networks behind strict firewalls, or to configure a regular mail client (for example in an Internet cafe).

With PHPwebmail a mail client only needs a WWW connection to the mailserver. Specifically it only needs a connection to the webserver hosting PHPwebmail.

Most of the times the Web and mail server will be the same machine but PHPwebmail can connect to other mailservers as well as long as an IMAP connection between these two machines is allowed.

zeMail is a minimalist webmail package written in Mason. It implements the basic features one would expect from an IMAP mail client, displaying folder and message contents, handling attachments and allowing you to move, mark and purge your messages.
zeMail package is written in plain HTML, and uses JavaScript only to reduce the click count, it will work perfectly with scripting disabled. Compared to the modern AJAX trend, this web mail package is designed to work everywhere.
Installation:
Download and unpack the tarball. Copy the directory lib/Zentus into your Perl inc. path (/usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 on Debian).
Copy the contents of mason/ into the desired subdirectory of your Apache htdocs directory or virtual host. Then add the following to your httpd.conf:

This code segment can be added as-is if you intend to devote a VirtualHost to zeMail, otherwise prefix a directory name in the < Location > and < LocationMatch > tags.
Now install the necessary Perl modules from CPAN:

You may have to create the temporary directory manually:
mkdir /tmp/zemail
chown www /tmp/zemail
Now restart your Apache and your are good to go.
Enhancements:
- Supports all basic forms of email, strips out MIME, displays attached images inline, and lets you download the rest.
