Fox Hunt 0.4
Fox Hunt is a logic game written in Java. more>>
Fox Hunt project is a logic game written in Java.
It was inspired by the sports competition of the same name. In that competition, participants run in the forest equipped with small radio locators, seeking small hidden radio wave emitters called "foxes".
In Fox Hunt you are one of such participants armed with advanced locator which can scan full horizontal, vertical, and both diagonal directions and report the number of foxes "visible" at all these directions.
Whats New in This Release:
This release features minor design changes and two helper options (both options will cost the player a half of his/her score): "Autodecrement fox scanners" turns off every fox found, so on the opened locations player will always see the number of active foxes only. "Automark empty locations" marks locations without foxes after every turn (according to currently opened locations).

Neohunt 0.1
Neohunt is an old multi-player shoot-em-up game. more>>
Neohunt project is an old multi-player shoot-em-up game.
Neohunt is a multi-player search-and-destroy game that takes place in a maze. The object is to shoot your friends before they shoot you, while avoiding being blown up by land mines and your own ammunition and running away from the occasional
stream of lava.
Neohunt is an enhanced version of hunt, one of the user-contributed games from the 4BSD distribution. You may still find versions of it
around here and there.
The original neohunt (not to be confused with the original hunt) was developed on a VAX 11/785 running 4.3BSD in 1989.
The version you see here is a slightly ANSIfied version of the K&R source, hacked up
just enough to run under FreeBSD 4.2. Nonetheless, it serves as a fine example of what a lot of software packages looked like in the 1980s.
Neohunt is not to be taken seriously. It is currently considered abandonware.

Letter Hunt 002
Leter Hunt is a Seven Day Roguelike game. more>>
Leter Hunt is a Seven Day Roguelike game. The original idea came from a discussion at the end of the 2005 7DRL challenge with Antoine, the author of Guild.
Main features:
- Spell words by capturing your foes in the correct order to earn points and powerups.
- Fifty-two letters to capture, many with their own personalities or unique abilities.
- Power-up based character advancement. Rather than gaining experience or levels, you just gain powerups that can wear off. Advancement is not permament.
- Open-ended game - there is no final boss or win condition. Your goal is to get as many points as possible before attrition or increasingly difficult enemies take you down.
- Extremely tactical combat. There is no randomness in combat. You always hit and always do full damage. This means that careful placement is the difference between success and failure.
- Turn based action, as is normal for a roguelike.
- User editable wordlist: The list of valid words is a plain text file that can be added to or replaced. Creature frequency is calculated from letter frequency in the wordlist file.
Enhancements:
- Various niggly bugs fixed, including the crash on walk.

The Hunted Chronicle 2
The Hunted is a single player FPS game based off of the Darkplaces engine. more>>
The Hunted is a single player FPS game based off of the Darkplaces engine. It is completely standalone, meaning that you do not need any prior files to run it, and it comes in a series called chronicles.
These chronicles are used for having a continuously flowing story and a difference in weaponry and in other things found in-game.
Each chronicle tells the story of a lone survivor escaping the city that has been overcome by the infected.
The symptoms of the infected at the time of the survivors adventure are not clear but as the chronicles are released, the story unfolds to make it quite clear as to why, where, when, and how this survivor came to be in a horror show such as this.
Main features:
- Completely recreated zombie and zombie code. Much more "realistic" in attack, range, and response time.
- Added random skin generator so zombies will be wearing different attire no matter how many times you play a map
- Added "Use" key, used to pick up boxes and move them to get to previously unattainable areas
- Added "story driven comics" used to help further the story and gives hints on puzzles
- Added all new weapon models
- Added fully functionable "secondary attack" (zoom with Mercs Gun, large swing with meathook)
- Added zombie footsteps
- FIXED**bug where zombies faking dead on ground would still block a players way
- FIXED**HUD/glock-pistol ammo malfunctions
- Added place_model attributes to have spatialization options and other effects to create global audio ambience and better effects using DarkPlaces extensions
- Added muzzleflash
- Added flashlight
- Added multiple new enemies

Job Hunter 2005363215841
Job Hunter is a software that can track job opportunities in your hunt for contracts or employment. more>>
Job Hunter is a software that can track job opportunities in your hunt for contracts or employment. Documentation is included in OpenOffice/NeoOffice and PDF formats.
As I went around looking for a job (I am a software contractor so I am always looking for a job) I found myself writing leads down on peices of paper... which soon graduated to worksheets when I got sick of disorganization... which then graduated to this application when I noticed my notes were scribbled all over the page.
I realized this is kind of a leads manager for the job searcher like those for the sales professional. After all, you are trying to sell your skills to some buyer right?
You will need PostgreSQL and PHP 4.3.11+ or PHP 5 to properly install the program. (PHP 5 will be the new standard.) You will need a PDF reader or OpenOffice.org/NeoOffice 1.0 + to read the documentation. I have successfully run the software on a Linux machine and Apple OS X (I actually run it on my powerbook so it goes with me.)
If you dont want to go through the motions of getting this running on your own machines, you can register an instance for yourself on this site and use it freely.
Enhancements:
- maintnote.php was fixed and tested for use with PHP 5.

Exponent 0.96.5
Exponent is a web application that allows site owners to easily create and manage dynamic websites. more>>
Exponent is a web application that allows site owners to easily create and manage dynamic websites. Unlike other site management tools, Exponent is completely self-contained.
No additional applications need to be downloaded by a user to permit them to use Exponent. Everything from user management to site configuration to content editing and approval is done within the system.
Non-technical users, web-savvy administrators and web developers of all skill levels have something to gain from Exponent. Exponent is completely self-contained, unlike other site management tools on the internet.
For Users...
For people without technical backgrounds, Exponent is a user-friendly way to update a website. The system hides much of the complexity inherent in web design and development, and presents the user with simple forms for posting news, text, calendar events and more. The standard content editor provides visual editing, allowing people to create highly stylized content without learning HTML or CSS.
For Administrators...
Website administrators are given a powerful array of tools to manage the unseen parts of their website. Maintaining the sites database, dictating what users are allowed to create and manage content on what parts of the site, and configuring the system is all done with point and click tools. The Exponent permissions system gives webmasters a powerful and flexible way to let users and groups of users participate in site maintenance. Nearly every aspect of the sites behavior is controlled by the administrator, from the overall layout to the implementation of content approval policies.
For Developers...
Exponent provides developers a rich framework for deploying web applications. With a myriad of supporting subsystems, programmers can concentrate on the specific features of their application, while using a mature and stable backdrop of tools. Database abstraction, security, high-level date and time handling, intelligent redirection and configuration routines already exist, so application designers do not spend time re-inventing these common pieces.

Surfboard HTTPd 1.0
Surfboard HTTPd provides a simple HTTP server. more>>
Surfboard HTTPd provides a simple HTTP server.
Surfboard is a simple HTTP server. It supports directory indexing, CGI, and custom CGI handlers (e.g. for PHP). It currently has no support for any method except GET, but everything else is fully functional.
Surfboard is incredibly small, very reliable, and easy to use (mainly because of its simplicity). Heres the PR:
Main features:
- Simplicity - The goal of Surfboard is to avoid having to play the classic Apache game of "hunt the option." While capable of keeping people amused for hours, it really isnt helpful when you want to host a website.
- Regular file serving and indexing - Quick and simple, but fully-featured. Multiple and absolute index pages are supported.
- CGI scripting(Beta versions only) - No POST support as yet (coming soon), but an otherwise almost complete CGI 1.1 implementation. See the finger CGI demo
- Extensible(Beta) - CGI handlers can be set in the config file, enabling scripting languages such as PHP (www.php.net) to be used (as I do here)
- Highly configurable - Everything from index pages to what you do and dont want to see in the logs can be specified
- Full logging - everything that goes can be logged. You can specify whether you want it in the logfile or not, but its there.
- Multiple simultaneous transfers - of course! Apparently not all simple httpds can. Beats me why...
Enhancements:
- Fixed a buffer overflow which allows the user running the server to escalate privileges to...herself. Oh, well, there are situations in which its serious, I guess, and anyway its bad practice

Pentoo is a Linux LiveCD, it means that you can boot a linux environment on any x86 based PC.
It is like KNOPPIX except that Pentoo is based on the Gentoo distribution and is oriented penetration testing. You can view the list of all available tools here .
Well, I know there is already many liveCD that provide penetration testing and so on, but they dont suit my needs. In fact, during a pen-test lab, I found the other LiveCD so slow...
I like Gnome and Gentoo so I decided to make my own distro and there it is.
Main features:
- Nessus, Metasploit and Fingerprints db upgradable ! You can put them in RAM or on a usb stick.
- You can save the root directory to a usbstick and backup all your preferences, etc.
- It is faster : based on the Gentoo distribution, all the code as been optimized. I choosed to optimize the code for pentium3 cpu as I think that intel based cpu are more used than AMDs ones. Of course, this will not break the compatibility with AMD proc, it will just run faster on pentium-3 or 4 CPUs.
- Analyser : Dsniff, Ethereal, Ettercap, Ntop, ...
- Bluetooth : BlueSniff, Redfang, ...
- Cracker / Bruteforce : Hydra, Ldapenum, John the ripper, chntpw, ...
- Fingerprinter : Amap, xprobe, smtpmap, p0f2, ...
- Forging / Spoofing : Arpspoof, Hunt, Packit, ...
- Pen-Test / MITM : Metasploit, Raccess, Cisco-Torch, WebMitm, ...
- Proxy : HttPush, Paros Proxy, ...
- Scanner : Nessus, Nmap, Nikto, Cheops, ...

PHLAK 0.3
PHLAK is Professional Hackers Linux Assault Kit. more>>
PHLAK is a modular live security Linux distribution. PHLAK comes with two light guis (fluxbox and XFCE4), many security tools, and a spiral notebook full of security documentation. PHLAK is a derivative of Morphix, created by Alex de Landgraaf.
The story begins with two coffee drinkers from Longview, Texas. James Hartman and Shawn Hawkins were like any other Linux users, hitting Slashdot in the morning, researching numerous open source repositories, and experimenting with interesting projects.
Always security minded, the two developers started looking at live security distributions. Never being completely satisfied with existing projects, the two started on a mission to create the most complete live security Linux distribution.
So began the research. Instead of starting from scratch they decided to look at some of the other preexisting live CD distibution, finally settling on Morphix due to its modularity. After three months of development the initial version was released. Two moths later 0.2 was released with all fifteen pieces of flair.
PHLAK is designed as the security professionals tool kit. It is not meant to turn the unexperienced into a security guru overnight. However, anyone with the desire can learn from the included tools and documentation.
Like any good tool, PHLAK can be used by Sith or Jedi alike. Included in the distribution are all the mainstream tools such as: nmap, nessus, snort, the coronors toolkit, ethereal, and several other security packages.
Some of the other lesser known, yet equally effective, tools include: hping2, proxychains, lczroex, ettercap, kismet, hunt, achilies, brutus, and many others. Make no mistake, this is a real Linux distribution including many common services such as apache, mysql, ssh, iptables, and most other services that are included on any other standard distribution.
To make things more user-friendly, PHLAK currently includes two fast, light-weight window managers, XFCE4 (the default) and Fluxbox. From these window managers the user has easy access to the powerful documentation system. Currently included in the XFCE4 user interface are quick-start buttons to initiate services and different firewall settings for those who are command line impaired.
Remember that PHLAK is still in its infancy. It is constantly progressing towards the level the developers had originally envisioned. The future versions of PHLAK will better harness the modularity of its Morphix origin as well as increase its base of hardware support and detection.
The project team is dedicated to expanding and updating the PHLAK security arsenal as well as making it more available to a broader user base. They foresee it becoming the Professional Hackers Linux Assault Kit. Make no mistake, the Internet is an unfriendly environment. Arm yourself well.

Lire - Lucene Image REtrieval 0.5.4
Lire is a simple way to create a Lucene index of image features for content based image retrieval. more>>
Lire, the Lucene Image REtrieval library is a simple way to create a Lucene index of image features for content based image retrieval (CBIR).
The used features are taken from the MPEG-7 Standard: ScalableColor, ColorLayout and EdgeHistogram. Furthermore methods for searching the index are provided.
The LIRE library is part of the Caliph & Emir project and aims to provide the CBIR features of Caliph & Emir to other Java projects in an easy and light weight way.
Creating an Index
Use DocumentBuilderFactory to create a DocumentBuilder, which will create Lucene Documents from images. Add this documents to an index like this:
System.out.println(">> Indexing " + images.size() + " files.");
DocumentBuilder builder = DocumentBuilderFactory.getExtensiveDocumentBuilder();
IndexWriter iw = new IndexWriter(indexPath, new SimpleAnalyzer(), true);
int count = 0;
long time = System.currentTimeMillis();
for (String identifier : images) {
Document doc = builder.createDocument(new FileInputStream(identifier), identifier);
iw.addDocument(doc);
count ++;
if (count % 25 == 0) System.out.println(count + " files indexed.");
}
long timeTaken = (System.currentTimeMillis() - time);
float sec = ((float) timeTaken) / 1000f;
System.out.println(sec + " seconds taken, " + (timeTaken / count) + " ms per image.");
iw.optimize();
iw.close();
Searching in an Index
Use the ImageSearcherFactory for creating an ImageSearcher, which will retrieve the images for you from the index.
IndexReader reader = IndexReader.open(indexPath);
ImageSearcher searcher = ImageSearcherFactory.createDefaultSearcher();
FileInputStream imageStream = new FileInputStream("image.jpg");
BufferedImage bimg = ImageIO.read(imageStream);
// searching for an image:
ImageSearchHits hits = null;
hits = searcher.search(bimg, reader);
for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
System.out.println(hits.score(i) + ": " + hits.doc(i).getField(DocumentBuilder.FIELD_NAME_IDENTIFIER).stringValue());
}
// searching for a document:
Document document = hits.doc(0);
hits = searcher.search(document, reader);
for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
System.out.println(hits.score(i) + ": " + hits.doc(i).getField(DocumentBuilder.FIELD_NAME_IDENTIFIER).stringValue());
}
Enhancements:
- An issue where the scalable color descriptor (color histogram) was not compliant to the MPEG-7 standard was fixed.
- The color only search was changed to use the color layout descriptor and a bug in the edge histogram descriptor was hunted down.
- The LireDemo GUI application has also been updated: A new function for creating image mosaics has been introduced and the indexing of digital photos is now faster than ever as only the EXIF thumbnails - if available - are used instead of the whole image.

tkdiff program is a merge tool and a graphical diff that runs under Unix, Mac OSX and Windows.
It provides a side-by-side view of the differences between two files, along with several innovative features such as diff bookmarks and a graphical map of differences for quick navigation.
The diff program was developed in the early 1970s on the Unix operating system which was emerging from AT&T Bell Labs in Murray Hill, New Jersey. The final version, first shipped with the 5th Edition of Unix in 1974, was entirely written by Douglas McIlroy. This research was published in a 1976 paper co-written with James W. Hunt who developed an initial prototype of diff.
McIlroys work was preceded and influenced by Steve Johnsons comparison program on GECOS and Mike Lesks proof program. Proof originated on Unix and produced line-by-line changes like diff and even used angle-brackets (">" and "<<less

FreeSynd is a cross-platform, GPLed reimplementation of the classic Bullfrog game, Syndicate.
As the worlds multinational corporations grew, their profits began to rival those of small countries. Soon they owned small countries and corporate influence was felt at the highest level of world government. Smaller corporations were swallowed up like plankton in the wake of three behemoth mega-corporations, one U.S.-based, one Europe-based and one based in the Far East. These became the only effective world government, unelected, undemocratic, but controlling the lives of the people through commerce.
Then the European corporation perfected the CHIP. Inserted in the neck, the CHIP stimulated the brain stem to alter your every perception of the outside world. Better than any drug, the CHIP gave hope to millions by numbing their senses to the misery and squalor around them. One CHIP would convince users that the sun shone and the birds sang even as they walked through the constant acid rain drizzle. Another that they were glamorous or handsome - theyd look in the mirror and see a different face - while the rest of the world would see them as they really were.
The CHIP was a technological revolution and sold countless units with the slogan "Why change your world when you can change your mind". It also left the user open to auto-suggestion and gave the corporations the perfect tool for manipulating the populace.
Like any new and potent drug, control of the CHIP meant control of the people. Soon the corporations were at war among themselves, desperate to monopolize CHIP manufacture. But the corporations thirst for power left them open to infiltration.
With money earned through pirating CHIP technology, crime Syndicates bribed and murdered their way into corporation boardrooms. It wasnt long before the Syndicates became the controlling force all over the globe, with a finger in the pie of every transaction, criminal or otherwise, worldwide.
And in the crime Syndicates of tomorrow those in control dont need uzis for back up. Teams of custom-built cyborg agents hunt down rivals and traitors, and spread the influence of the Syndicates across the globe.
Enhancements:
This release boasts the following:
- The first level is "playable".
- Most of the menus are complete and functional.
- Sound and music are operational.
Known issues with this release:
- Agent AI is different from the original game.
- No trees the map.
- The minimap is not complete.
- Tax collection and other functionality of the world map are not done.
