HTML::Mail 0.02_05

HTML::Mail 0.02_05

HTML::Mail is a Perl extension for sending emails with embedded HTML and media. more>>
HTML::Mail is a Perl extension for sending emails with embedded HTML and media.

SYNOPSIS

use HTML::Mail;

### initialisation
my $html_mail = HTML::Mail->new(
HTML => http://www.cpan.org,
Text => This is the text representation of the webpage http://www.cpan.org,
From => me@myhost.org,
To => you@yourhost.org,
Subject => CPAN webpage);

### Send the email ("inherited" from MIME::Lite)
$html_mail->send();

#### Remove text representation
$html_mail->set_Text();

### Rebuild the message and send
$html_mail->build->send;

### Serialise to file for later reuse
$html_mail->dump_file(/tmp/cpan_mail.data);

### Restore from file
my $restored = HTML::Mail->restore_file(/tmp/cpan_mail.data);

HTML::Mail is supposed to help with the task of sending emails with HTML and images (or other media) embedded or externally linked. It uses MIME::Lite for all MIME related jobs, HTML::Parser to find related files and change the URIs and LWP::UserAgent to retrieve the related files.

Email can be multipart/alternative if both HTML and Text content exist and multipart/related if there is only HTML content.

If all you want is to send text-only email, you probably wont find this module useful at all, or at best a huge overkill.

Yahoo Mail Sucker pr79

Yahoo Mail Sucker pr79

Yahoo Mail Sucker is a Perl script that allows you to fetch Yahoo Mail messages. more>>
As you probably know, Yahoo Mail does not provide free POP access to its users any more. You can still use your YM account for free, but you have to use a Yahoo Mail web site to access your account.
This is not very convenient as you always have to be online, you cannot use your favourite e-mail client to read your messages, and so on. You can easily immagine the disadvantages of having to manage all your corespondence via web.
When Yahoo disabled its free POP access, the first thing that came to my mind was to change my e-mail account. But then I realized, there are far too many people used to my current Yahoo Mail address, that I am used to my YM address very much too and I thought - if Yahoo closes a free service, the other services will follow sooner or later. So changing an e-mail service/account wasnt really solution.
That is when I have decided to write YoSucker as a simple portable perl application, that would simulate a user actions to retrieve my mail to my local inbox. Yahoo Mail Sucker simply connects to the Yahoo Mail web site, parses the HTML code and fetches new messages.
With time I have added lots of other features and functionality (like support for multiple accounts, support for procmail, support for local Yahoo Mail sites, for proxy connection and much more) but the basic idea still stay the same...
Main features:
- secure SSL login
- support for multiple accounts
- encrypted passwords for enhanced security
- transaction safe writes
- support for various folders (including BULK mail)
- support for multiuser environment
- support for multiple mailboxes in one config file
- support for procmail (output to a pipe)
- support for localized Yahoo Mail sites
- support for proxy
- support for basic proxy authorization
- support of command line parameters
- powerful digest feature for listing mailbox content
- handles virtually unlimited number of messages
- LeaveOnServer, EmptyTrash and OnlyNew features
- restore message unread flag feature
- powerful CLEAN option
- quota storage warning system
- session Respawn feature
Enhancements:
- This things been around too long be be a prototype any longer.
- Filtered the annoying "Yahoo! Domain Keys" message in From header

XML::LibXML::Reader 1.63

XML::LibXML::Reader 1.63

XML::LibXML::Reader is a Perl interface to libxml2 pull parser. more>>
XML::LibXML::Reader is a Perl interface to libxml2 pull parser.

SYNOPSIS

use XML::LibXML::Reader;

$reader = new XML::LibXML::Reader("file.xml")
or die "cannot read file.xmln";
while ($reader->read) {
processNode($reader);
}

sub processNode {
$reader = shift;
printf "%d %d %s %dn", ($reader->depth,
$reader->nodeType,
$reader->name,
$reader->isEmptyElement);
}
or
$reader = new XML::LibXML::Reader("file.xml")
or die "cannot read file.xmln";
$reader->preservePattern(//table/tr);
$reader->finish;
print $reader->document->toString(1);

This is a perl interface to libxml2s pull-parser implementation xmlTextReader http://xmlsoft.org/html/libxml-xmlreader.html. This feature requires at least libxml2-2.6.21. Pull-parser (StAX in Java, XmlReader in C#) use an iterator approach to parse a xml-file. They are easier to program than event-based parser (SAX) and much more lightweight than tree-based parser (DOM), which load the complete tree into memory.

The Reader acts as a cursor going forward on the document stream and stopping at each node in the way. At every point DOM-like methods of the Reader object allow to examine the current node (name, namespace, attributes, etc.)

The users code keeps control of the progress and simply calls the read() function repeatedly to progress to the next node in the document order. Other functions provide means for skipping complete sub-trees, or nodes until a specific element, etc.

At every time, only a very limited portion of the document is kept in the memory, which makes the API more memory-efficient than using DOM. However, it is also possible to mix Reader with DOM. At every point the user may copy the current node (optionally expanded into a complete sub-tree) from the processed document to another DOM tree, or to instruct the Reader to collect sub-document in form of a DOM tree consisting of selected nodes.

Reader API also supports namespaces, xml:base, entity handling, and DTD validation. Schema and RelaxNG validation support will probably be added in some later revision of the Perl interface.

The naming of methods compared to libxml2 and C# XmlTextReader has been changed slightly to match the conventions of XML::LibXML. Some functions have been changed or added with respect to the C interface.

lfwmail 2.4

lfwmail 2.4

lfwmail is a light weight web mail program written in perl. more>>
lfwmail is a light weight web mail program written in perl.
It will run with acceptable speed even on a Pentium 100Mhz Linux mailserver.
It has just basic features and no calendar or folders but it is fully
mime compatible and can handle attachments.
If you dont like browser cookies, this program is very suitable for you, because you dont have to enable cookies.
It is also very secure when you use https (encryption). HTML
mails are converted to ASCII text for security reasons but
you can still see the HTML mail if you want.
The code is clean and structured. Installation is straight forward
and you dont need a lot of non standard modules.
You can run it in mod_perl if you want. Remember to restart the
server when you do changes in the lfwmC.pm or any other file.
Response time will be very fast with mod_perl however for most people
normal cgi-bin will be good enough. lfwmail is already quite fast.
lfwmail is a light weight mail program. It does not keep track on what
you have read and what is new. You have to remember the dates of the
mails. There is however a small help to keep track on what you have seen
and what is new. It works for Mozilla (not netscape 4), Opera and MS IE
only as it depends on javascript style objects: the background color of e-mails
you have clicked on is changed. This is to keep track on what you have
read and what is new. This information does also survive between sessions since
version 1.5.
Enhancements:
- make it possible to call lfwmail with uid=xxx in the url. e.g https://my.host/cgi-perl/lfwmail?uid=joe_wm

dotBook reader 0.3.5

dotBook reader 0.3.5

dotBook reader is a reader for HTML books in .jar and .zip files. more>>
dotBook reader is a reader for HTML books in .jar and .zip files.

The dotBook application will be a book reader that can download, display and cache books in a special JAR file format.

The format will allow digital signatures with PGP and allow books to have chapters and paragraphs that can be found conveniently from within the application but will link sources outside books by opening the default web browser. Book pages will be HTML pages with some restrictions.

Design Goals

The goal is to have an XML descriptor format to be stored outside the book (JAR file) and an XML content format to be stored inside the JAR file. A compound format that allows to combine descriptor, JAR file and signatures in a single file is being considered. Reading the descriptor should be very easy and not require to read the JAR file, so the JAR file will possibly be compressed and appended to the uncompressed descriptor.

The book layout will honor CSS PrintLayouts.

The XML content will allow for imprints following an independent specification for XML imprints, factored out from the esp.nongnu.org project.

The dotBook editor will allow to edit a limited subset of the MediaWiki syntax and a subset of HTML.

The format is intended to be useful on e-Paper devices that can hibernate between turning pages. A sequential page order will be encouraged, while still allowing to set anchors and links inside pages. Animated content will be discouraged: It will probably only be animated on user request. That means all animated images will be replaced by empty boxes with the text "Animation : [play]" inside, if no still image is provided to take the place.

Mail::LMLM::Render 0.6300

Mail::LMLM::Render 0.6300

Mail::LMLM::Render is a Perl module for rendering backend for LMLM. more>>
Mail::LMLM::Render is a Perl module for rendering backend for LMLM.

SYNOPSIS

use Mail::LMLM::Render::HTML;

open O, ">out.html";
my $r = Mail::LMLM::Render::HTML->new(*O);

$r->start_document("My Document", "Head Title");

$r->start_section("Google", { title_url => "http://www.google.com/", });

$r->para("Google is a very nice search engine.");
$r->end_section();
$r->end_document();
close(O);

The Mail::LMLM::Render is a base class for rendering hypertext. It is used by LMLM extensively as a thin layer around the actual format.

To use it open a filehandle, and call the packages new constructor with a refernce to the filehandle. Afterwards call the start_document method (documented below), and when youre done call the end_document method. For each section call start_section and end_section explicitly.
