Template::Provider::OpenOffice 0.01

Template::Provider::OpenOffice is a OpenOffice (ODT) Provider for Template Toolkit. more>>
Template::Provider::OpenOffice is a OpenOffice (ODT) Provider for Template Toolkit.

This module extends Template::Provider to automatically extract the content.xml file from an OpenOffice zip file and run it through Template::Toolkit for processing.

We use OpenOffice::OODoc to actually open the document and extract the content.xml file. This gives us the benefit of having the methods available to add/subtract files in addition to parsing and processing the content file if we want to do some custom work in addition to templating.

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner 0.9.7

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner 0.9.7

Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner is a Perl script that virus scans HTTP/FTP downloads request on a UNIX server. more>>
Viralator is a Perl script that virus scans HTTP/FTP downloads request on a UNIX server after passing through the Squid proxy server.
Even when I implemented virus protection for my network email server we still continued to get the odd virus. Most of the viruses came from people using free webmail accounts like Hotmail or Yahoo and downloading the infected attachments to their machines or through downloading junk.
Rather than block access to the users I decided to look at how we could better protect the network. I looked at a couple of different products both comercial and free but they were either too expensive or did not meet my needs.
That is how Viralator was born. Viralator Proxy Virus Scanner is licenced under the GPL.
Viralator should work in any UNIX system that uses Apache and Squid servers. We have reports about successful instalations on:
- RedHat Linux
- Mandrake Linux
- SuSe Linux
- e-Smith Linux
- Slackware Linux
- Conectiva Linux
- Debian Gnu Linux
Supported Redirectors:
- Squirm
- SquidGuard
- Jesred
Supported Virus Scanners
- AntiVir
- AVP
- RAV
- Inoculate
- Sophos Sweep
- McAfee
- Trend
- Clamav
- Bit Defender (free edition)
The original concept for Viralator came from the Viromat project. Without Viromat the Viralator project would not have had a starting point. We can also thank Ralph Meyer for badgering me into releasing the script under the GPL.
Enhancements:
- Parenthesis are included on the regular expression used to validate URLs.
- The character set checking step, which was not working before last patch released, has been fixed.

mbridge 0.7

mbridge 0.7

mbridge provides a multicast DNS services bridge. more>>
mbridge provides a multicast DNS services bridge.

mbridge provides a bridge between LANs for multicast-announced services. As an example, you can use it to share iTunes libraries outside of your LAN with your peers.

It works by querying for and listening to announcements for instances of the desired service using the multicast DNS (mDNS) service discovery protocol.

Upon discovery of a new instance, it announces itself as the provider for that service on all the other LANs.

It then acts as a proxy between the clients and the real server.

How It Works

mbridge queries for and listens to announcements for instances of the desired service using the multicast DNS (mDNS) service discovery protocol.

Upon discovery of a new instance, mbridge announces itself as the provider for that service on all the other LANs. It then acts as a proxy between the clients and the real server.

Net::DNS::Sendmail 0.1

Net::DNS::Sendmail 0.1

Net::DNS::Sendmail is a Simple Mail Transfer Mail Client with MX lookup. more>>
Net::DNS::Sendmail is a Simple Mail Transfer Mail Client with MX lookup. Which will basically act as a primitive sendmail MTA.

SYNOPSIS

use Net::DNS::Sendmail;

# Constructors
$smtp = Net::DNS::Sendmail->new();
$smtp->to("john@gmail.com, mary@yahoo.com, goliath@hotmail.com");
$smtp->from("srikanth@cpan.org");
$smtp->subject("This is the subject line.");
$smtp->data("This allows for sending single or multiple emailsn " .
directly to sendmail servers.");
$smtp->data(" This program runs directly on the public domain just like");
$smtp->data(" sendmail.");
$smtp->sendmail();

This module implements a client interface to the SMTP and EMSMTP ( as mentioned in RFC821 and RFC2821) servers which allow you to use it as a SMTP/ESMTP client. This module connects directly to Yahoo/Hotmail/Gmail servers and delivers the mail without the need for intermediate Mail Transfer Agents(MTA) like sendmail(sendmail.org).

A new Net::DNS::Sendmail object must be created with the new method. Once this has been done then the to, from, subject and data sections of an email are created with the following methods using the object.
