ftp-outboxd provides a FTP outgoing spool handler.

ftp-outboxd sends files and directories placed in certain folders to other hosts. It can handle any number of spools, and can send to multiple hosts for each spool.

It can also recursively handle subdirectories placed in the outgoing "hot folders".

It deletes pending files upon successful transfer, and preserves and retries upon failure.

Installation requires an edit of "ftp-outboxd" itself, and the change of three global variables, "CONFIG", "LOGFILE", and "PIDFILE", to point to where the configuration file, logfile and pid file should be location on your installation.

Except if a global variable, DEBUG, is turned on, runs as a daemon. Please see "etc/outboxd.conf.example" for configuration file documentation.

hmount project is a simple interface to HAL for mounting and unmount hot-plugged devices. Unlike gnome-mount, it doesnt depend on gconf, GTK+, X, or GNOME libraries.
Installation:
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system.
Running `configure might take a while. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.

Pluto is the Reference Implementation of the Java Portlet Specfication. The current version of this specification is JSR 168.
Portlets are designed to run in the context of a portal. They are written to the Portlet API which are similar to the Servlet API.
In contrast to servlets, portlets may not do things like sending redirects or errors to browsers directly, forwarding requests or writing arbitrary markup to the output stream to assure that they don?t distract the portal web application which uses them.
Another difference compared to servlets is that portlets rely on portal specific infrastructure functions such as access to user profile information, standard interface for storing/retrieving persistent settings, getting client information, etc. Generally,
portlets are administrated more dynamically than servlets typically are.
A portlet container provides a runtime environment for portlets implemented according to the Portlet API. In this environment portlets can be instantiated, used and finally destroyed. The portlet container is not a stand-alone container like the servlet container; instead it is implemented as a thin layer on top of the servlet container and reuses the functionality provided by the servlet container.
Pluto serves as portlet container that implements the Portlet API and offers developers a working example platform from which they can test their portlets. However, its cumbersome to execute and test the portlet container without a driver, in this case, the portal.
Plutos simple portal component is built only on the portlet containers and the JSR 168s requirements. (In contrast, the more sophisticated, Jetspeed project concentrates on the portal itself rather than the portlet container, and considers requirements from other groups.)

Hotstuff is a set of Perl scripts to automatically handle repositories for the "Get Hot New Stuff" creative data sharing functionality present in KDE and several applications.
It handles both the traditional format and the new GHNS format as developed by the corresponding freedesktop.org project, and requires an SQL database to work.
Hotstuff project also includes a (simple) Web frontend for database maintenance.

wmthrottle is a dockapp for throttling CPU via ACPI.

A small app of questionable value (myself I use it to throttle the CPU when I perceive it is getting too hot. At the moment the code is optimized for a dell laptop but should work on most ACPI systems.

Remember throttling is not the same as performance, but has its own advantages.

Also remember that playing around with your CPU etc can be a bad thing so saying

Pyntor project is a suite of small but usable software programs which are built upon Python and the SDL library (via pygame).
All programs are centered around a web browsing engine (Pyromaniac) and a slide show program (Pyntor itself).
Due to the minimal size and maximum configurability, Pyntor is a nice alternative to conventional presentation programs.
