Hosting Backup 0.4.0
Hosting Backup provides a set of scripts for backing up your hosted Web sites. more>>
Hosting Backup provides a set of scripts for backing up your hosted Web sites.
Hosting Backup is a set if PHP command line scripts that provides an easy way to backup hosted Web sites to your local computer. It works with sites hosted on Linux servers with MySQL databases using FTP.
HostingBackup uses lftp (http://lftp.yar.ru/) to download all the files from your remote server.
HostingBackup uses rc4 encryption, so you do not need to have PHP compiled with mcrypt.
HostingBackup is tested on Linux local computer with PHP 4.3.x and lftp 3.0.x.
The remote component will manage some operations like optimization and dump of MySQL databases.
The local component will manage the execution of backups and other utilities like the generation of crypted passwords and the automatic installation of the remote component.
To allow an easy way to backup all hosted MySQL databases we store the main password for the account directly on the remote server, crypted with rc4.
When we call the dump script we pass the decrypt key.
To catch the login data an hacker should read the crypted password written on the server and intercept the key on the net.
Enhancements:
- Add: "--comments=false" to mysqldump
- Add: "set FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0;" to mysqldump
- Add: "--add-drop-table" to mysqldump

Incredible Hosting System 1
Incredible Hosting System is a tool that allows you to administrate a hosting system using a Web browser. more>>
Incredible Hosting System is a tool that allows you to administrate a hosting system using a Web browser.
The aim is to support administrators and users. Incredible Hosting System currently includes support for Virtual Qmail.
IHS will be a platform for implementing and integrating mail or hosting systems in different environments - small or medium companies looking for tools for managing system accounts, hosting companies offering services based on this system.
System is complex, requires integration of many other applications, for example: WWW server, mail transfer agent, FTP server, database. Also it should be possible to integrate system with other applications that are specific to companys environment.
Aside integration of existing application platform must be built that will allow to manage everything is a manner undependent from tools that are used in background. It should be a centralized and consistent environment. Also API for developers shoule be generic that changes in tools doesnt require changes in code.
Incredible Hosting System will be based on following tools, technologies:
- Apache as WWW server;
- PostgreSQL as default database;
- ProFTPD as default database;
- qmail or Virtual Qmail as a MTA;
- CORBA as a service communication protocol;
- J2EE as an runtime environment;

Domain Technologie Control 0.23.0-0
Domain Technologie Control is a web-based control panel for admin and accounting for hosting services. more>>
Domain Technologie Control (DTC) is a GPL control panel for hosting. Using a web GUI for admin and accounting all hosting services, DTC can delegate the task of creating subdomains, email, and FTP accounts to users for the domain names they own.
DTC manages a MySQL database containing all the hosting information. It has support for many programs (bind 8 and 9 and compatibles, MySQL, Apache 1.3, php4, qmail, postfix 2, courier, dovecot, proftpd, webalizer, mod-log-sql, etc.) through config files and/or MySQL plugins (when the service is non-critical).
Domain Technologie Control project can also generate backup scripts, calculation scripts, and config files using a single system UID/GID and monitor all traffic accounting per user and per service. Since version 0.12, DTC is fully skinable and translated in 8 language (Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Deuch, German, Italian and Russian).
DTC has been tested and works well with FreeBSD, Debian stable testing and unstable and now handles SBOX cgi-wrapper to provide chroot environment to users binaries. There is a RPM for DTC that has been done under RedHat 7, but its not well tested (I need feedback on this one as I dont use RPM based distributions myself).
Enhancements:
- This version adds support for Xen VPS connecting to dtc-xen (SOAP server) and the cyrus.
- It includes support tickets, renewal with email reminders, a new, easier to understand layout, (unfinished) import/export functions, domain parking (for DNS, Apache, and mail), daily stats (instead of each month), and some more package installers (Joomla, Vtiger, WANewsletter, and drupal).

Main features:
- time tracking & reports
- milestones & due dates
- tagging & search
- timeline & activity log

ClockingIT was created for fun, not profit, using Ruby on Rails.
Why?
It was created to fill a gap that presented itself while working full time as a consultant. Managing several projects across multiple clients, all wanting reports on progress, and remembering what to do, for who, became a chore. Thus, ClockingIT was born after 6 days of intense learn-as-you-go Ruby on Rails. It has since received quite a few make-overs and rewrites, but the basic idea and vision remains the same.
After giving up on consulting, we kept on programming as Ruby on Rails is a fun platform, and ClockingIT had turned into a usable application others might want to use as well.
Who?
The people behind ClockingIT are Erlend and Ellen Simonsen, a married couple living in Oslo, Norway. Erlend does all the programming, and most of the feature design, while Ellen does the interface design, graphics and colors.
How?
Were keeping it free, as were hosting on our own server, out of our apartment. We already had the internet link and server in place from other projects so we have no running costs, other than our time.
Enhancements:
- New features include task dependencies, recurring tasks, the ability to drag and drop folders and files, iCalendar feeds, email reminders, integrated installation/company/project-wide forums, more auto-completion, task grouping and sorting, and user avatars.
<<lessMain features:
- time tracking & reports
- milestones & due dates
- tagging & search
- timeline & activity log
- notifications & rss
- no restrictions or limits
ClockingIT was created for fun, not profit, using Ruby on Rails.

Host Identity Protocol on Linux 1.0.0
Host Identity Protocol on Linux is an implemetation of the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) and the related architecture. more>>
Host Identity Protocol on Linux is an implemetation of the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) and the related architecture. Host Identity Protocol (HIP) is a proposal to change the TCP/IP stack to securely support mobility and multi-homing.
Additionally, it provides for enhanced security and privacy and advanced network concepts, such as moving networks and mobile ad hoc networks. HIP is "cool", which means that as a mobile VPN solution, when your network interfaces go up or down, there is no need to re-establish a secure tunnel.
Enhancements:
- The implementation was moved from kernel to user space.
- Support for the Nokia 770 Linux PDA (ARM) was added.
