Zope 2.8.7
Zope is a Web application platform for dynamic Web sites. more>>
Zope is an open source web application server primarily written in the Python programming language. Zope features a transactional object database which can store not only content and custom data, but also dynamic HTML templates, scripts, a search engine, and relational database (RDBMS) connections and code.
It features a strong through-the-web development model, allowing you to update your web site from anywhere in the world. To allow for this, Zope also features a tightly integrated security model. Built around the concept of "safe delegation of control", Zopes security architecture also allows you to turn control over parts of a web site to other organizations or individuals.
The transactional model applies not only to Zopes object database, but to many relational database connectors as well, allowing for strong data integrity. This transaction model happens automatically, ensuring that all data is successfully stored in connected data sources by the time a response is returned to a web browser or other client.
There are numerous products (plug-in Zope components) available for download to extend the basic set of site building tools. These products include new content objects; relational database and other external data source connectors; advanced content management tools; and full applications for e-commerce, content and document management, or bug and issue tracking.
Zope includes its own HTTP, FTP, WebDAV, and XML-RPC serving capabilities, but can also be used with the Apache or other web servers.
Zope can help you create dynamic web applications such as portal and intranet sites quickly.
Zope comes with everything you need including support for membership, search, and news.
Enhancements:
- Numerous bugfixes were made, and ZODB 3.4.3 is included.

Mibble 2.8
Mibble is an open-source SNMP MIB parser (or SMI parser) written in Java. more>>
Mibble is an open-source SNMP MIB parser (or SMI parser) written in Java. Mibble project can be used to read SNMP MIB files as well as simple ASN.1 files. Mibble is distributed as a Java library to make it possible to include it in your applications.
The Mibble library contains classes for easy access to all the information in the MIB file, including OIDs, type data and descriptions. It stores the data in memory to allow quick access and lookup.
A couple of useful applications are also bundled with Mibble, among them a high quality MIB browser. The browser provides MIB validation and also includes a simple SNMP manager.
Mibble is released with full source code under the GNU GPL license. This license permits free usage, but redistribution of Mibble or any derived code is restricted.
Please note that Mibble is not an SNMP stack or MIB compiler. It merely provides the functionality for reading SNMP MIB files (i.e. a SMI parser). You can use Mibble together with either SNMP4J or Westhawks SNMP stack if you need both MIB parsing and SNMP manager functionality. You can also use Mibble as the basis for a MIB compiler, as it provides all the information you can possibly need from the MIB files.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a serious performance issue that caused duplicate loading of some files and corrects a number of parse errors which occurred when reading AGENT-CAPABILITIES macros.
- Several bundled MIB files have been updated.

srm 1.2.8
srm is a secure replacement for rm. more>>
srm is a secure replacement for rm.
Unlike the standard rm, it overwrites the data in the target files before unlinking them. This prevents command-line recovery of the data by examining the raw block device. It may also help frustrate physical examination of the disk, although its unlikely that it can completely prevent that type of recovery. It is, after all, a paper shredder for sensitive files.
srm is ideal for personal computers or workstations with Internet connections. It can help prevent malicious users from breaking in and undeleting personal files, such as old emails. Its also useful for permanently removing files from expensive media.
For example, cleaning your diary off the zip disk youre using to send vacation pictures to Uncle Lou. Because it uses the exact same options as rm(1), srm is simple to use. Just subsitute it for rm whenever you want to destroy files, rather than just unlinking them.
Enhancements:
- Minor bugfixes. Correctly handle symlinks. Build with most recent versions of automake.
- Documentation updates

Aumix is a software mixer. more>>
Aumix is a software mixer. This program adjusts an audio mixer from X, the console, a terminal, the command line or a script. Version 2.8 was released 25 November 2002.
Support for the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture driver is currently disabled because of changes to the ALSA API. See if you want to work on it.
You will need a sound driver compatible with the Open Sound System driver from
.
To build RPM source and binary packages, do "rpm -ta aumix-foo.tar.gz" (use the "-tb" option to just build the binary, or "-ts" to just make the source RPM) and look at the "Wrote:" messages to determine where the packages were placed. The drivers distributed with the official kernels should work with aumix.
If you are using devfs, run aumix with the option "-d /dev/sound/mixer".
Enhancements:
- doesnt assume existence of any device (volume, bass, etc)
- some minor bug fixes
- some bug fixes to work correctly with SB Pro

Omnitty 0.2.8
Omnitty is an SSH multiplexer that allows you to log into several machines simultaneously. more>>
Omnitty is a curses-based program that allows one to log into several machines simultaneously and interact with them, selectively directing input to individual machines or groups of selected machines.
You can run both line-oriented and screen oriented in the target machines, because Omnitty has built-in terminal emulation capability. When the window is large enough, Omnitty also displays a "summary area" for each machine, in which it shows what the latest output from the machine was, so you can have an idea of what is going on in each machine.

objc 3.2.8
objc distribution consists of the VICI, interactive Objective-C debugger and interpreter objc, the actual compiler. more>>
objc distribution consists of the "VICI", interactive Objective-C debugger and interpreter "objc", the actual compiler.
Consists of driver script ("objc") and binary ("objc1").
"objc1" is a precompiler for C.
The binary "postlink" is used
for preparing tables for runtime initialization.
"objcrt", the Objective C Runtime Library for "objc"
This is a modern, portable, "all C" Objective C runtime
Theres absolutely no assembly language needed, nor is there a dependency on stack layout, register allocation conventions etc.
Most other runtimes, were derived from pre-"all C"-Stepstone runtimes, so this is an important point of difference.
"objpak", the "Object Pak" Objective C Collection Classes
Simple, powerful set of classes. Very portable.
Can be used to develop with different compilers, then
port with objc. Compatible with ICpak101, the collection class library described in Brad Cox book, and used by existing Objective-C packages that were developed with Stepstone objc.
"cakit", the "Computer Algebra Kit" Objective C classes
Small, concise, interface to a large set of classes for polynomial computing and arbitrary precision integer arithmetic.
Source of compiler and "oclib", a set of Objective C classes for parsing C (and the Objective C extensions to C)
"objc" and "vici" are written in Objective C itself. Its all written in portable Objective C : any Objective C compiler should be able to compile the "objc" compiler. From time to time, we try a configure with other Objective-C compilers, to ensure that our sources are still compatible with e.g. Stepstone Objective C compiler.
NOT included is a C compiler : in order to be able to use "objc", you will need to elsewhere find a compatible C compiler. This should be no problem since one of our goals - see below - is to make "objc" work with as many C
compilers as possible. On UNIX systems, the (free) "gcc" compiler is a possibility (not needed, but possible). Another possibility, is to use the (free) "lcc" compiler or the "tcc" TDF compiler system.
Installation:
Read the Install.txt file.
IMPORTANT : if this is a first-time installation, you have to start by installing the bootstrap package; do not install this package until you have installed the bootstrap package.
For every release, there is an objc-x.y.z.tar.gz package and an objc-x.y.z-bootstrap.tar.gz package.

I originally created these programs to help me out, because of all the excruciating long hours at work. Plus, I work on servers day-in, day-out that have system administrators
that most certainly need all the help they can get.
Enjoy these programs! Use them to your liking. These programs were an excellent project for
me to really grow my programming skills. Any feedback on these would be great.
You can run sh install.sh from the command line for the programs to be installed. These programs were intended for use on a Linux OS. However, they do work on other flavors of *nix and I plan on making more versions available as I find time to do so.
The main progams are installed into /usr/local/sbin/. There is a man page found in /usr/man/man1 and a cron file in /etc/cron.d/. As well, there is a logrotate config file in /etc/logrotate.d/ and all logs are found in /var/log/checksuite.d/.
Enhancements:
- Added 2 more false positives to checkhardware, also a disclaimer
- Fixed "Disk Usage by Content" for a specific directory in checkdisk
- Added a threshold parameter in checksyn for the amount of times an IP is found to be SYN flooding until they get blocked

Gnomad2 2.8.12
Gnomad2 manages portable digital audio devices from Creative and Dell. more>>
Gnomad2 project manages portable digital audio devices from Creative and Dell.
Gnomad2 was initially developed as a reference application using libnjb for managing the Creative NOMAD jukebox, and was later expanded to support the Creative Zen (Zen NX, Zen Xtra, Zen Micro etc) product line.
It also supports the Dell DJ devices, since these are OEM products actually made by Creative Technologies.

vic 2.8
Vic is a video conferencing application. more>>
Vic is a video conferencing application developed by the Network Research Group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley. Source code and pre-compiled binaries acan be found on anonymous ftp.
The UCB/LBNL video tool, vic, is a real-time, multimedia application for video conferencing over the Internet. Vic was designed with a flexible and extensible architecture to support heterogeneous environments and configurations. For example, in high bandwidth settings, multi-megabit full-motion JPEG streams can be sourced using hardware assisted compression, while in low bandwidth environments like the Internet, aggressive low bit-rate coding can be carried out in software.
Vic is based on the Draft Internet Standard Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) developed by the IETF Audio/Video Transport working group. RTP is an application-level protocol implemented entirely within vic -- you need no special system enhancements to run RTP. Although vic can be run point-to-point using standard unicast IP addresses, it is primarily intended as a multiparty conferencing application. To make use of the conferencing capabilities, your system must support IP Multicast, and ideally, your network should be connected to the IP Multicast Backbone (MBone). Vic also runs over RTIP, the experimental real-time networking protocols from U.C. Berkeleys Tenet group and over ATM using Fores SPANS API.
Vic provides only the video portion of a multimedia conference; audio, whiteboard, and session control tools are implemented as separate applications. Our audio tool is called vat and our whiteboard tool wb. UCL developed the session directory tool sdr. Other related applications include ISIs Multimedia Conference Control, mmcc, the Xerox PARC Network Video tool, nv and the INRIA Video-conferencing System, ivs. Vic is backward compatible with RTPv1 and can interoperate with both nv (v3.3) and ivs (v3.3).
Main features:
- an ``Intra-H.261 video encoder,
- voice switched viewing windows,
- multiple dithering algorithms,
- interactive ``title generation, and
- routing of decoded video to external video ports.
