Come And Go Encryption 1.02
Come And Go Encryption provides an encryption program based off one-time pads. more>>
Come And Go Encryption provides an encryption program based off one-time pads.
Cum And Go Encryption is a very basic program to encrypt or decrypt a program using a variant of the one-time pad. This allows for almost uncrackable encryption.
Why is it still crackable? The program uses one relatively small key to XOR the contents of another file, encrypting it.
A one-time pad uses a very large key (about the same size as the file/data to encrypt) and is completely random. Still, the encryption is good enough to mask the identity of a program or document, or stop someone from accessing that document or program.
The origins of this program were an effort to stop a specific kind of movie and image from being viewed normally.
Installing is a breeze: simply run the program. Put it anywhere you like, it wont matter as long as you put the full path to the program to encrypt/decrypt.
Run the program to see a basic description of its use.
This program works very well in windows but was designed for use in Linux/UNIX. The stdout option allows for decryption to standard output, allowing one to pipe the programs decrypted data to another program.
This could be used to view an encrypted movie without having to write the whole movie to disk; the only problem with this is that on some Operating Systems pipes are slow and inefficient, especially with a high-bitrate movie. Steps will be taken to speed this up in the future.
Enhancements:
- Fix password use so the password is not shown in "encrypted" files
- Use an actual encryption method, and not a cheesy XOR
- Adapt CAG to use modules such as SHA, Crypt, MD5, and others

Safe and SafeDesktop 2.2.6
Safe and SafeDesktop project are created so that a user need not remember all her login names and passwords. more>>
Safe and SafeDesktop project are created so that a user need not remember all her login names and passwords.
What is Safe?
Nowadays, every person is forced to remember lots of sensitive data to interact with machines during daily life. For instance, automatic teller machines ask for numerical passwords and email accounts are protected by using loginnames and passwords. For many good reasons passwords should be difficult to guess and every password should be used for one account only. In reality, this makes it quite difficult for the average person to remember all the different passwords. Hence, people tend to choose easy to remember passwords and many persons re-use their passwords in such a way that the same password is used for many accounts. Even worse, it is quite common to write down passwords and stick the note to a screen frame. All these facilitations of remembrance lower the burden for hackers to get access to sensitive data and abuse computers.
The idea behind Safe is that a user must not remember all her loginnames and passwords. Instead, the user utilizes her cell phone to store sensitive data in an encrypted way. Only one root password is required to be remembered to get access to the data.
This concept works pretty well, because nowadays, cell phones are ubiquitous. Usually, cell phone owners carry the phones in their pocket regardless where they are going. So, running Safe on a cell phone means that passwords have no longer be to remembered and can be chosen as difficult as it can be. The only requirement is that the cell phone in question supports J2ME applications.
What is SafeDesktop?
SafeDesktop provides the same features as Safe does but it runs on desktop machines. Java is also used for the implementation of SafeDesktop. This allows SafeDesktop to be executed on almost all modern desktop operating systems (e.g., Microsoft Windows, Linux).
A synchronization mechanism is part of SafeDesktop to keep the data synchronized between Safe and SafeDesktop.
How does it work?
First, a MD5 hash of the root password is stored and compared with the users input, that is requested at applications startup. If the hash of the users input is equal with the stored hash, the user input is used as key to decrypt the data.
Second, a IDEA cipher is used in CBC mode (of operation) to store data in an encrypted way. The password that the user entered at startup, is used as a key for the IDEA cipher.
Version restrictions:
- Safe and SafeDesktop have their limits. The limits are inherent - they came from the IDEA cipher, the hardware, the operating system and all the other parts that are used as a blackbox.
- But remember, there are things you can do to push the limits: review the source code of Safe and SafeDesktop. Even more security relevant: Select a difficult to remember, long and random root password. With Safe and SafeDesktop you have only to remember one password, so, make it difficult for the opposer to get access to your sensitive data.
Enhancements:
- An IPv6 problem has been fixed (no exception will be thrown when the machine uses IPv6).
- Exception handling has been improved (error messages provide hints as to what went wrong).
- A minor bug has been fixed (mainly how and when Alerts are shown).

Linux Letters and Numbers 0.1.95
Linux Letters and Numbers project is an educational childrens game for linux. more>>
Linux Letters and Numbers project is an educational childrens game for linux.
Linux Letters and Number is a fun and educational learning game intended for children 2 and up.
It helps children learn or improve their letters, numbers, spelling, and vocabulary skills through the use of interesting pictures.
It also helps them develop important computer skills too.
It is written in C using the GTK and GDK_Imlib libraries.
Main features:
- Extensible - add new images yourself without having to make changes to the program. With support for gdk_imlib, you can now use common image formats, including common formats like gif, jpeg, xpm, png, and tiff.
- Dynamic - each letter or number can be represented by numerous pictures, each being displayed randomly.
- Flexible - you can even have more than one picture for a given word, by using a simple versioning scheme (ie Apple.1.xpm, Apple.2.xpm)
- Interesting - because you can change the game, its different every time!

get_iat and iat_cmp 0.1
get_iat and iat_cmp are two small programs to extract and to very basic analysis of packet inter arrival times. more>>
get_iat and iat_cmp are two small programs to extract and to very basic analysis of packet inter arrival times (unfortunaly often wrongly called inter packet gaps) in a pcap network trace.
- get_iat just reads one pcap files an outputs the inter arrival time and the time
difference between this packet and the first one for all packets
- iat_cmp compares several pcap files and checks how much their inter arrival
times differ. This "compare" is done by sorting the inter arrival time
difference into buckets. Currently the buckets must be configured by hand
in the source code.
BEWARE: these programs have not been tested very exensively. So expect
crashes.
Installation:
Requires GNU make (gmake)
Edit the Makefile and change the path to your libpcap installation.
type :
# make
# make install

Quick and Dirty Transcoder 0.1
Quick and Dirty Transcoder provides a simple shell script that adds transcoding support to Amarok using gstreamer. more>>
Quick and Dirty Transcoder provides a simple shell script that adds transcoding support to Amarok using gstreamer.
The only prerequisites are that you have gstreamer installed and the appropriate plugins.
Quick and Dirty Transcoder works with transcoding when copying files to a media player and also adds a context menu to allow you to transcode files in your collection. When doing the latter, the transcoded file will be written to the same directory as the original file.
You can configure dirtyxcode by creating a file in your home directory ~/.dirtyxcode.sh. The format of the configuration is a shell script that will be sourced by dirtyxcode. You can use this to control how dirtyxcode constructs the gstreamer pipeline. For example, to change the flacencoder element add the following:
flac_enc="myflacencoder myflacencopt=foo"
You can also add options to the existing encoders by setting
< format >_enc_options, for example to change the preset quality
setting for the mp3 encoder (lame), add the following to your
~/.dirtyxcode.sh file.
mp3_enc_options="preset=extreme"
The default gstreamer plugins used by Quick and Dirty Transcoder are:
- wav: wavenc
- mp3: lame
- ogg: vorbisenc
- m4a: faac
- aac: faac
- flac: flacenc

Games::Battleship::Craft 0.05
Games::Battleship::Craft is a Battleship craft class. more>>
Games::Battleship::Craft is a Battleship craft class.
SYNOPSIS
use Games::Battleship::Craft;
my $craft = Games::Battleship::Craft->new(
id => T,
name => tug boat,
points => 1,
)
$points_remaining = $craft->hit;
A Games::Battleship::Craft object represents the profile of a Battleship
PUBLIC METHODS
new %ARGUMENTS
id => $STRING
A scalar identifier to use to indicate position on the grid. If one is not provided, the uppercased first name character will be used by default.
Currently, it is required that this be a single uppercase letter (the first letter of the craft name, probably), since a hit will be indicated by "lowercasing" this mark on a player grid.
name => $STRING
A required attribute provided to give the craft a name.
points => $NUMBER
An attribute used to define the line segment span on the playing grid.
position => [$X, $Y]
The position of the craft bow ("nose") on the grid.
Currently, the craft is assumed to have a horizontal or vertical alignment. Soon there will be diagonal positioning...
hit
$points_remaining = $craft->hit;
Increment the crafts hit attribute value and return whats left of the craft (total point value minus the number of hits).

Buffy and Libbuffy 0.11
Buffy displays a window with a summary of your mailboxes and lets you open them in your mail program. more>>
Buffy displays a window with a summary of your mailboxes and lets you open them in your mail program. It is written with the intent of being a handy everyday tool for people working with large volumes of mail.
For mutt users, it can be a nice front-end to supplement the simple built-in folder browser when one has many folders to keep track of.
It tries hard to work out of the box and looks for mail folders in sensible places and comes with reasonable defaults. It supports mail stored in maildir, mbox, and gzipped mbox format.
Enhancements:
- Buffy now correctly detects when a folder in mailbox format has been changed.
- It also allows you to set single folders to always show (useful, for example, for the sent mail folder) and always hide (useful for spam folders which otherwise always show because they always have new mail).
