Scalable OGo 0.9.0
Scalable OGo project (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around the SOPE application server. more>>
Scalable OGo project (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around the SOPE application server. Unlike OGo it is focused on scalability instead of depth in functionality. The web interface uses human readable URLs and can be accessed according to REST web service ideas. Notably it requires no server side session at all.
The server stores all internal data in the iCalendar format and therefore has no data model inconsistencies with native clients - it easily connects using GroupDAV connectors.
Scalable OpenGroupware.org is being developed since August 2004.
Important: SOGo is still in pre-alpha quality and is largely undocumented. We do not provide RPM or Debian packaging yet nor expect to be able to build the source without issues.

Xinity 2.2 RC1
Xinity project is a powerful web content management system (CMS). more>>
Xinity project is a powerful web content management system (CMS).
Xinity is a powerful web content management system (CMS). You can build complex web sites with content edited and maintained by non-programmers. It is user-friendy because it eliminates the flexibility gap: in common CM Systems the editor loses the more flexibility the more the programmer gains and vice versa.
In Xinity the programmer has the power to decide how much flexibility the editor has. There are no limitations given by the system.
The editor edits his content in WYSIWYG, and there is no need to battle with or system-specific variables. Xinity is a highly scalable system with a lot of customization work to do with each installtion, and is not suitable for a quick test run.
On the other hand there is a generic site architecture that comes with the base distribution, so you can set up you own Xinity web site in 30 minutes.
Enhancements:
- revise Exception-Handling and inform Client properly [TOBIAS done 11/4]
- inform client if logon fails [TOBIAS done 15/4]
- integrate Form- and Treehandling in AdCo [TOBIAS done 15/4]
- build ShiftBox AMS-Group selection (with two windows add/remove like in XBU) [TOBIAS done 16/4]
- change AMS-Groupprocessing on serverside (tokens to entities)[TOBIAS changed 17/4]
- confirmation on logout (generic confirmation-flag in Conmmand) [TOBIAS done 17/4]
- avoid server-startup on connection-failure (RMI-Registry) [TOBIAS done 17/4]
- errormessage if client cant connect to server prior to login [TOBIAS done 17/4]
- change AMS-Forms so ARPs will be set on save() not directly with a seperate Command [TOBIAS done 17/4]
- fix AMS-search [TOBIAS done 19/4]
- Copy+Paste in editor [TOBIAS done 19/4]
- introduce UserConfiguration for Modules [TOBIAS done 23/4]
- avoid focus-setting on read-only forms [TOBIAS done 23/4]
- Message on problems during session-initalisation [TOBIAS done 23/4]

High Performance Linpack 1.0a
High Performance Linpack is a highly parallel, high performance benchmarking tool. more>>
HPL is a software package that solves a (random) dense linear system in double precision (64 bits) arithmetic on distributed-memory computers. It can thus be regarded as a portable as well as freely available implementation of the High Performance Computing Linpack Benchmark.
The algorithm used by HPL can be summarized by the following keywords: Two-dimensional block-cyclic data distribution - Right-looking variant of the LU factorization with row partial pivoting featuring multiple look-ahead depths - Recursive panel factorization with pivot search and column broadcast combined - Various virtual panel broadcast topologies - bandwidth reducing swap-broadcast algorithm - backward substitution with look-ahead of depth 1.
The HPL package provides a testing and timing program to quantify the accuracy of the obtained solution as well as the time it took to compute it. The best performance achievable by this software on your system depends on a large variety of factors.
Nonetheless, with some restrictive assumptions on the interconnection network, the algorithm described here and its attached implementation are scalable in the sense that their parallel efficiency is maintained constant with respect to the per processor memory usage.
The HPL software package requires the availibility on your system of an implementation of the Message Passing Interface MPI (1.1 compliant). An implementation of either the Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms BLAS or the Vector Signal Image Processing Library VSIPL is also needed. Machine-specific as well as generic implementations of MPI, the BLAS and VSIPL are available for a large variety of systems.

Scalable OpenGroupware.org (Inverse edition) 0.9-20070713
Scalable OpenGroupware.org is a groupware server built around OpenGroupware.org (OGo) and the SOPE application server. more>>
Scalable OpenGroupware.org (SOGo in short) is a groupware server built around OpenGroupware.org (OGo) and the SOPE application server.
We are constantly improving functionnalities and the user experience. So far, we improved the user interface to use AJAX and we focused on the integration of the Mozilla suite (Thunderbird, Sunbird/Lightning).
We also added CalDAV support so that any calendaring application which uses this standard protocol can now communicate with SOGo.
Main features:
- Complete redesign of the user-interface to give SOGo a look and feel similar to the Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird applications
- Calendar and address book sharing
- Mutiple address books and LDAP-based address books
- Concept of tasks
- Contacts in vCard
- Integration with the Mozilla application suite
Enhancements:
- A superuser can be defined.
- The raw message source can be viewed.
- Compatibility was checked with PostgreSQL 8.2.
- The menus of the Web date selector would no longer appear.
- An SQL constraint violation would prevent task entries from being recorded.
- The due date in tasks was incorrectly set.
- It was impossible to empty the start and the due date in the task editor from the moment they were set.
- IMAP folders with non-ASCII characters can now be accessed.
- The quotas of the selected mailbox are displayed (if available).
- Users were prevented from accessing shared resources in DAV.

Lustre 1.4.9
Lustre is a scalable, secure, robust, highly-available cluster file system. more>>
Lustre is a scalable, secure, robust, highly-available cluster file system. The project is designed, developed and maintained by Cluster File Systems, Inc.
The central goal is the development of a next-generation cluster file system which can serve clusters with 10,000s of nodes, petabytes of storage, move 100s of GB/sec with state of the art security and management infrastructure.
Lustre runs today on many of the largest Linux clusters in the world, and is included by CFSs partners as a core component of their cluster offering (examples include HP StorageWorks SFS, and the Cray XT3 and XD1 supercomputers). Todays users have also demonstrated that Lustre scales down as well as it scales up, and run in production on clusters as small as 4 and as large as 15,000 nodes.
Enhancements:
- The kernel patches were updated to 2.6.16.21-0.8 (SLES10), 2.6.9-42.0.3EL (RHEL 4), 2.6.5-7.276 (SLES 9), 2.4.21-47.0.1.EL (RHEL 3), and 2.6.12.6 vanilla (kernel.org).
- Zero-copy sockets were added without kernel patches. Numerous bugfixes were made.

Cyrus IMAP Server 2.1.18
The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in. more>>
The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in.
Electronic mail is a major infrastructure service of almost all organizations. At Carnegie Mellon the use of electronic mail has overshadowed the use of all other distributed services since the early 1990s. It is a core part of the business process of most departments. The universal availability of the Andrew Mail and Bulletin Board System (AMS) has helped a great deal to create this situation. Departments without AMS have run their own mail systems and see heavy use, as well. With the end of the lifetime of the AMS in sight, Project Cyrus began to build a new campus mail system.
The Cyrus Electronic Mail Project is continuing to build a highly scalable enterprise mail system designed for use in a small to large enterprise environments using standards based technologies. The Cyrus technologies will scale from independent use in small departments to a system centrally managed in a large enterprise.
Visitors to this site may want to also view The Cyrus Wiki, which is likely to be updated more frequently.
This document gives an overview of the Cyrus IMAP server. The Cyrus IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) server provides access to personal mail and system-wide bulletin boards through the IMAP protocol. The Cyrus IMAP server is a scalable enterprise mail system designed for use from small to large enterprise environments using standards-based technologies.
A full Cyrus IMAP implementation allows a seamless mail and bulletin board environment to be set up across multiple servers. It differs from other IMAP server implementations in that it is run on "sealed" servers, where users are not normally permitted to log in. The mailbox database is stored in parts of the filesystem that are private to the Cyrus IMAP system. All user access to mail is through software that is using the IMAP, POP3, or KPOP protocols.
The private mailbox database design gives the server large advantages in efficiency, scalability, and administratability. Multiple concurrent read/write connections to the same mailbox are permitted. The server supports access control lists on mailboxes and storage quotas on mailbox hierarchies.

Jabberlang is a client XMPP and Jabber library for Erlang to implement scalable fault-tolerant XMPP/Jabber agents.
The first version has been presented during Erlang User Conference (EUC 2004). For now, it still only supports a minimal subset of the Jabber/XMPP protocol but many changes are planned.
Enhancements:
- This version fixes several problems and improves the behavior of Jabberlang.
- The connection now fails when the expat library fails to load.
- A bug has been fixed regarding the name of the host used in the library, so the "to" attribute in the stream is now set correctly.

Internet Communications Engine 3.2
Internet Communications Engine is a modern object middleware solution. more>>
Ice, the Internet Communications Engine, is middleware for the practical programmer. A high-performance Internet communications platform, Ice includes a wealth of layered services and plug-ins. Ice means simplicity, speed, and power.
Ice is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). Commercial licenses are available for customers who wish to use Ice with proprietary products. Please contact sales@zeroc.com for more information.
Ice is currently available for C++, Java, C#, Visual Basic, Python, and PHP, and is supported on various operating systems. Additional operating systems and languages will be supported in future releases.
Ice consists of the following packages:
Slice The Specification Language for Ice. Slice establishes a contract between clients and servers, and is also used to describe persistent data.
The Slice Compilers Tools to compile from Slice into target languages, such as C++ and Java, or to automatically generate documentation from Slice files.
Ice The Ice core library. Among many other features, the Ice core library manages all the communication tasks using a highly efficient protocol (including protocol compression and support for both TCP and UDP), provides a flexible thread pool for multi-threaded servers, and additional functionality that supports extreme scalability with potentially millions of Ice objects.
IceUtil A collection of utility functions, such as Unicode handling and thread programming. (C++ only.)
IceBox An application server specifically for Ice applications. IceBox can easily run and administer Ice services that are dynamically loaded as a DLL, shared library, or Java class.
IcePack A sophisticated server activation and deployment tool. With IcePack, the complex task of deploying applications in a heterogeneous computer network is dramatically simplified. Simply write a deployment descriptor in industry-standard XML, and IcePack handles the rest.
Freeze Freeze provides automatic persistence for Ice servants. With just a few lines of code, an application can incorporate a highly-scalable evictor that efficiently manages persistent objects.
FreezeScript It is common for persistent data types to change, especially in large software projects. In order to minimize the impact of these changes, FreezeScript provides inspection and migration tools for Freeze databases. The tools support an XML-based scripting capability that is both powerful and easy to use.
IceSSL A dynamic SSL transport plug-in for the Ice core. It provides authentication, encryption, and message integrity, using the industry-standard SSL protocol.
Glacier One of the most difficult challenges for object middleware systems is security and firewalls. Glacier, the firewall solution for Ice, greatly simplifies the deployment of secure applications. Glacier authenticates and filters client requests and allows callbacks to the client in a secure fashion. In combination with IceSSL, Glacier provides a powerful security solution that is both non-intrusive and easy to configure.
IceStorm A messaging service with support for federation. In contrast to most other messaging or event services, IceStorm supports typed events, meaning that broadcasting a message over a federation is as easy as invoking a method on an interface.
IcePatch A patching service for software distributions. Keeping software up-to-date is often a tedious task. IcePatch automates updating of individual files as well as complete directory hierarchies. Only files that have changed are downloaded to the client machine, using efficient compression algorithms.
Enhancements:
- Various additions, including redundant IceGrid registries.
