SimCList project is a high quality C library for handling lists.
SimCList is available for free, under restrictions imposed by the BSD license.
SimCList API is good because:
- it is simple, yet powerful
- it makes elegant and consistent use of information hiding
- it abstracts the actual data type to store
- it is fairly total
The library itself is very performant and makes a good compromise between performance in terms of time and space:
- insertion is O(n) [typically n/8]
- extraction and deletion are O(n) [typically n/8]
- iteration is O(1)
- sorting is always O(n logn), without worst case
Thread safety
The SimCList library is thread safe, meaning that many threads can run SimCList operators on different lists concurrently without hurt, or also read operations on the same list.
However, of course, no safety guarantee is made for performing concurrently write+write or read+write operations on the same list (eg: insertion, deletion, sorting, ...). For performance and portability reasons, protecting such operations from concurrency is left to the library adopter.
Performance
SimCList has been designed with ease to use and performance in mind. There is some example factors that have been taken into account, and against which the code has been optimized when implementing SimCList:
- overhead of function calls
- cache locality
- number of branches, possible CPU stalls or pipeline flushes
- dynamic memory allocation weight on the OS
- other mathematic/probabilistic optimizations for avoiding worst-case or improving average case behaviours in algorithms
Many parts of SimCLists code have been deeply improved with profiling analysis.
Enhancements:
- Transparent inclusion in C++ applications is natively supported.
- Sentinels are used to improve performance on list traversals.
- A problem was fixed with list_insert_at, which could output inconsistent lists when inserting into even-sized lists in position 0.

IFSgr is a command line two-dimensional linear IFS (Iterated Function System) grayscale renderer.
IFSgr uses Fractints IFS file format, and features automatic fractal scaling and gray level adjustment and consistent image look independent of size or the numbers of iterations.
It can also convert Fractint files to Gimp IFS Compose files and back.
Main features:
- Reads and writes Fractint 2D IFS files, allowing to select particular fractals from them with easy :: notation.
- Reads FDESIGN TRN files.
- Reads and writes Gimp IFS Compose (IFSC) files.
- Renders high-quality grayscale images (see the IFS gallery), automatically scaling the fractals to fit to the canvas and adjusting gray levels.
- Writes Portable GrayMap images with bit depth 8 or 16, or raw pixel hit counts in pseudo-PGM format (like PGM but with 32bit depth).
- Can rotate, skew, asymmetricaly scale or flip the fractal before rendering or exporting to another format
- Allows selection of speed/quality trade-off and gamma (darkness) modification.
- Keeps consistent image impression the same when changing size or the number of iterations (quality).
- Can estimate box-counting dimension of the fractals.
- Its functionality is available as a library, libifsgr.
Enhancements:
- The code should be 64-bit clean now.

Why should I install 3ivx?

KSayIt is a small KDE3 utilitiy for Linux that simply speaks a given textfile in a very high quality, i.e. sound and pronounciation of the spoken text should be as (human) natural as possible.
To achieve this, KSayIt uses natively Text-To-Speech systems like MBrola, any TTS system that can be controlled via a command line or any TTS system that is supported by the upcoming KDE TTS system (i.e. Festival).
KSayIt offers three user interfaces: A simple text editor window in which you can enter or paste text that should be spoken after pressing a play button, as well as an icon in the systemtray that starts to speak by a single mouseclick the actual content of the clipboard (if it contains something that looks like text).
As a KDE application it offers also a DCOP interface for the say and shut-up action (see kdcop). Finally KSayIt provides an effectstack to postprocess the sound of the voice (currently only a Freeverb effect is included)
Enhancements:
- KSayIt now interfaces to various TTS systems via loadable modules (plugins).
- Currently the following TTS plugins are in the package:
- Native support for MBrola/txt2pho.
- Support for any user defined command that accepts text from stdin, therefore KSayIt can now speak languages other than German.
- Support for the upcoming KDE TTS Daemon (KTTSD is part of the kdenonbeta package).
- Additional controls (Pause, Resume, Next Sentence, Previous Sentence, if supported by the plugin).

AVR Libc is a Free Software project whose goal is to provide a high quality C library for use with GCC on Atmel AVR microcontrollers.
Together, avr-binutils, avr-gcc, and avr-libc form the heart of the Free Software toolchain for the Atmel AVR microcontrollers.
They are further accompanied by projects for in-system programming software (uisp, avrdude [formerly avrprog]), simulation (simulavr) and debugging (avr-gdb, AVaRICE).
AVR Libc is licensed under a single unified license. This so-called modified Berkeley license is intented to be compatible with most Free Software licenses like the GPL, yet impose as little restrictions for the use of the library in closed-source commercial applications as possible.
Enhancements:
- This release fixed a problem where util/delay.h was missing an inline keyword.
- An incorrect definition of the IVSEL bit in the MCUCR register was fixed.
- The simple demo was modernized a bit.
- New "largedemo" and "stdiodemo" demo projects were added.
- The demo projects now install their source code as part of the documentation tree.
- ATtiny24, ATtiny44, and ATtiny84 are now supported.
