Preferences Hide and Seek 0.6.0

Preferences Hide and Seek lets you configure hard to find and hidden options of GNOME. more>>
Preferences Hide and Seek can configure hard to find and hidden options of GNOME.
Preferences Hide and Seek is a utility that groups together the options that actually exist for GNOME, but are usually hard to find or are just plain hidden from the user.
This utility also makes it possible to create a simple data file to expose gconf-based options to the user. It was created to allow usable access to the hidden application options buried within gconf.
Main features:
- Easy to create an advanced preferences dialog for any application that utilizes GConf.
- Single application mode can be used to mimmick a standard dialog.
- Supports GConf key types boolean, integer, float and string.
- Can set minimum and maximum range for numeric key types.
- Can present string keys as a file or folder name selection.
- Can present string keys as a drop down menu.
- Can present string keys as a font selection.
- Can present string keys as a color selection.
- Can present integer enumerations as a drop down menu.
- Radio buttons support integer, float, and string key types.
- Check buttons, radio buttons, and drop down menus can control the sensitivity of other objects.

KleanSweep 0.2.9

KleanSweep 0.2.9

KleanSweep allows you to reclaim disk space by finding unneeded files. more>>
KleanSweep allows you to reclaim disk space by finding unneeded files. KleanSweep can search for files basing on several criterias.
You can seek for:
- empty files
- backup files
- broken symbolic links
- dead menu entries (.desktop files pointing to non-existing executables)
- duplicated files
- orphaned files (files not found in RPM database)
- obsolete thumbnails (thumbnails conforming to freedesktop.org standard, pointing to non-existing images
Planned features:
- seeking for orphaned files in Debian and Gentoo (portage) databases
- seeking for empty directories
- seeking for unused locales
- options for setting include/exclude paths, file extensions etc.
- and more!
KleanSweep consists of KDE-based (C++) graphical frontend and small helper Perl script that performs actual searching.
All searches, except for orphaned files, duplicates and dead menu entries are as fast as usual find would be. KleanSweep requires KDE libraries and Perl.
Note: I take no responsibility for any damage caused by this program.
Enhancements:
- Removed "greedy match" button
- added Italian, German, Spanish and Portugaese translations

DeadMini 1.1

DeadMini 1.1

DeadMini is a tiny distribution designed for modular usage. more>>
DeadMini is a tiny distribution designed for modular usage. DeadMini linux is currently under heavy developement, but so far it contains applications such as dropbear client, midnight command and of course screen.

The main advantage is that it boots anywhere - wherever you can stick the files, use something like syslinux or isolinux to make it boot - and of course make bios boot the medium - it will boot without a trouble. This is because the whole system (currently 5MB, including booting overhead) is copied in RAM without the need to seek the source device. It also boots very fast - minimal bootup time is about 3s (further testing will be done).

It is possibly buggy yet, especially HW autodetection isnt perfect, but it will be developed - the most important issue here is feedback, both bugreports AND patches - the detection is in /sbin/mod-detect.

The point of DeadMini is to be quite modular, hence the aim is to distribute the core system and tools for building, installing and removing packages. Therefore, what you want is dtools and deadcore. Deadcore contains the base system, dtools is set of tools to manage dmp (DeadMini packages) and build the actual iso. You also certainly want the extra modules - otherwise, the only modules inside are for networking. The iso released here is only the core system.

dyndb 0.5.2

dyndb 0.5.2

dyndb is a dynamical database. more>>
dyndb is a dynamical database.
dyndb is database with 1 key 1 value relation. The dyndb package contains fast and reliable tools to create, change and read that database. It also contains the library functions used by that programs.
The dyndb database has a number of limitation:
There may only be one process writing to any database file at a given time (although many other processes may read during that time). An application may use file locking to get around that limitation. The database size is limited to 31 bits (2gigabytes). Keys and data are limited to 31 bits also.
Hash, key length, data length and pointers are stored in little endian byte order. Although its possible to delete elements there is not way to reclaim the disk space of the records: deleted data is unavailable, not freed. The default table layout is targetted to offer nice performance for about 50000 to 100000 elements (note that your systems seek and read performance might limit the performance even more). Above that the performance will degrade drastically. Keys do not need to be unique. The library functions deal with this, but the tools do not provide a way to return more than one record. The order of the records is not preserved.
Enhancements:
- Fixed a crash bug in dyndb_fwalk.

Buffy and Libbuffy 0.11

Buffy and Libbuffy 0.11

Buffy displays a window with a summary of your mailboxes and lets you open them in your mail program. more>>
Buffy displays a window with a summary of your mailboxes and lets you open them in your mail program. It is written with the intent of being a handy everyday tool for people working with large volumes of mail.
For mutt users, it can be a nice front-end to supplement the simple built-in folder browser when one has many folders to keep track of.
It tries hard to work out of the box and looks for mail folders in sensible places and comes with reasonable defaults. It supports mail stored in maildir, mbox, and gzipped mbox format.
Enhancements:
- Buffy now correctly detects when a folder in mailbox format has been changed.
- It also allows you to set single folders to always show (useful, for example, for the sent mail folder) and always hide (useful for spam folders which otherwise always show because they always have new mail).

Page Title Eraser 0.6.3

Page Title Eraser 0.6.3

Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab. more>>
Page Title Eraser is a Firefox extension which provides more privacy at your workplace by hiding the title and icon of a selected tab.

I always open several tabs in a Firefox window, but I would not like other people see some of tabs labels. So I wrote the PTE extension which helps me to have such feature. I hope that it can be useful for office people.

The Page Title Eraser adds menu item to the page context menu and "Tools" menu items. "Right-click" menu includes a "Hide title" menu item now. Using this item you can hide/show tab and window titles and tab icon. Each tab has its independent instance of this item.

Since version 0.3.0 you can hide or show all tabs labels using "Hide all titles" menu item. Using the "Options" window you can tell PTE to hide/show the icons of tabs as well as the titles of tabs (see screenshots).

Toolbar button and hot key combination (Ctrl + Shift + H) are also available.

Translations included: Arabic, Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Dutch (NL), English, French, Italian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Spain).

Tie::Layers 0.06

Tie::Layers 0.06

Tie::Layers is a Perl module to read and write files pipelined through a stack of subroutine layers. more>>

SYNOPSIS

#####
# Subroutines
#
use Tie::Layers qw(is_handle config);

$yes = is_handle( $file_handle );

($key, $old_value) = config(%options, $key);
($key, $old_value) = config(%options, $key => $new_value );

####
# Config default startup options
#
@old_options_list = config(%options, @option_list);
@old_options_list = config(%options, @option_list);
@old_options_list = config(%options, %option_list);

#####
# Class interface
#
require Tie::Layers;

#####
# Using support methods and file handle with
# the file subroutines such as open(), readline()
# print(), close()
#
tie *LAYERS_FILEHANDLE, Tie::Layers, @options
$layers = tied *LAYERS_FILEHANDLE;

#####
# Using support methods only, no file subroutines
#
$layers = Tie::Layers->TIEHANDLE(@options);

($key, $old_value) = $layers->config($key);
($key, $old_value) = $layers->config($key => $new_value );

@old_options_list = $layers->config(@option_list);
@old_options_list = $layers->config(@option_list);
@old_options_list = $layers->config(%option_list);

$data = $layers->fin($filename, @options);

$data = $layers->fout($filename, $data, @options);

$yes = $layers->is_handle( $file_handle );

If a subroutine or method will process a list of options, @options, that subroutine will also process an array reference, @options, [@options], or hash reference, %options, {@options}.

The Tie::Layers program module contains the tie file handle Tie::Layers package. The Tie::Layers package provides the ability to insert a stack of subroutines between file subroutines print and realine and the underlying $file. The syntax of the subroutines of each layer of the readline stack and the print stack must comply to the the requirements described herein below.

This is necessary so that the Tie::Layers READLINE and PRINT subroutines know how to transfer the output from one layer to the input of another layer. The stacks are setup by supplying options with a reference to the subroutine for each layer in the print stack and the readline stack. The Tie::Layers are line orientated and do not support any character file subrouintes.

The getc, read, and write file subroutines are supported by the Tie::Layers package. The seek routines are line oriented in that the seek and tell subroutine positions are the line in the underlying file and not the character position in the file.

Shibboleth 2.2.1

Shibboleth 2.2.1

Shibboleth is a privacy and security-aware mailing list manager. more>>
Shibboleth is a privacy and security-aware mailing list manager. Internet mailing lists today suffer from the problem of their vulnerability to exploitation by those who seek to use the Internets dynamics to their own selfish advantage. Marketers, spies, and other unscrupulous Internet users have been able to force their way into private communities, disrupting what they found, sometimes even destroying what they found.
Others will attempt to assassinate the character of others by impersonating them, recognizing the ease of forging messages from others, and understanding that the number of people who can identify a forgery by reading Internet mail protocol headers is comparatively low.
Main features:
- User verification
- Digest handling
- Address standardization
- Header canonicalization
- File serving
- Header-based passwords
- PGP Support
- Remote e-mail based management
Enhancements:
- src/shibboleth-bot.pl: Implemented update-aliases command
- src/shibboleth-bot.pl
- src/shibboleth-makealiases.pl: Untainted system() calls since 5.8.x is more strict on these
