Free helix player software for linux

Helix Player is an audio and video player based on the Helix DNA Client engine. The GTK+ version includes a Mozilla browser plug-in and supports local file playback and streaming over RTSP/RTP and HTTP.
It supports video zoom in original, double size, and full screen, and supports: SMIL 2.0, Ogg Vorbis, H.263 video, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and RealPix.
The Symbian Series60 version supports local and streaming playback (RTSP, RTP, RDP, HTTP) of MP3, AMR narrow band, AMR wide band, RA8, sipro, RV7, RV8, RV9, RV10, H263+, 3GPP rel5 SMIL 2.0, images, and more.
Enhancements:
- This release is an update for the Firefox 1.5 API changes.

MPEG4IP provides an end-to-end system to explore streaming multimedia. The package includes many existing open source packages and the "glue" to integrate them together. This is a tool for streaming video and audio that is standards-oriented and free from proprietary protocols and extensions.

Provided are a live MPEG-4/H.261/MPEG-2/H.263 MP3/AAC/AMR broadcaster and file recorder, command line utilities such as an MP4 file creator and hinter, and an player that can both stream and playback from local file.

Our development is focused on the Linux platform, and has been ported to Windows, Solaris, FreeBSD, BSD/OS and Mac OS X, but it should be relatively straight-forward to use on other platforms. Many of the included packages are multi-platform already. Mp4live only works on Linux.

This code is not intended for end users, and does not contain executables. Please read all the legal information to determine if it is suitable for you.

RTSP, SDP, RTP (rfc 3551 for raw audio, 2250 for mpeg1/2 audio and video, 3016 for mpeg4 video, 3119 for mp3, 3640 for aac/celp audio, 3267 for AMR octet-aligned only, 3984 for h.264), mpeg2 transport streams (mpeg2 video, mp3 and ac3 audio), both multicast and streaming.
Supports http fetch of sdp files.

Audio should be able to convert channels and format to match any hardware, but not frequency.

IsmaCryp 1.0 specification is supported for local playback and streaming playback.

Whaaw! Media Player is an audio/video player using gstreamer (like totem but without GNOME dependencies).

Whaaw! Media Player will play any audio/video files which gstreamer can play. It supports fullscreen mode, seeking, changing video colour settings and more. It is inteded to be a basic media player similar to totem.

cd player is a really small cd player for Linux with a curses-like user interface.
Main features:
- mcdp is a small (maybe the smallest) cd-player for _linux_
- it compiles/runs out off the box
- it can be compiled against dietlibc (~16kb static!)
- working play methods: reapeat cd, repeat track and intro
- since version 0.3a, minimal cddb title download is also included

Ixion is a media player that uses wxWidgets and GStreamer. Its is just a simple video player that can play at double or half speed. It can be useful as an example of how to write a simple app based on wxWidgets and/or GStreamer.

Ixion is a media player written in C/C++ using wxWidgets and GStreamer. It is not a bleeding edge, full-featured, eye-candy, all-in-one application; Ixion exists only because I needed a video player that could play at double or half speed. However, it can be useful if you want to see how to write a simple app based in wxWidgets and/or GStreamer. Source code is available for download under the GPL license.

You can download the source code from the downloads section. It will compile on most *nix systems ig there are the required libraries, including GNU/Linux.

FALF Player wants to be a smart, compact, light and comfortable mp3 player with tabbed playlists.

Its early pre-release and it does not represent the quality of first stable release so be careful with your notes.

LiMP is a a tiny LIVE CD based linux distro, that loads into memory and works only in the memory. This is the easiest, simpler yet powerful distro that works in all computers (PIII onwards).
Linux Multimedia Player supports most of the known formats, let it be mpeg-I, or mpeg-II, or divx, or wmv,qt-mov,real video for video and for audio mp3,wav,wma, ogg, real audio. It has the auto detection of partitions (ide or sata or scsi), sound cards,video cards, network cards and supports all the the cards as of kernel 2.6.13. It identifies the Partitions and mounts in the folder START.
It has the network support, which can be configured inside the GUI. It also mounts the Windows Shares, Linux Smb shares in the folder START.
It is complete tiny OS, with menu driven option and requires no knowledge of linux. All in a embedded image file of size 35 MB that gives you the entertainment. It can be easily integrated into WINDOWS XP/2000/98/95 or in linux boot loader or boot from cdrom.
LiMP distro runs only from memory and so CDROM/DVD is free to use. LiMP is completely safe to use as it mounts the partitions (NTFS, EXT2, EXT3, REISERFS) and windows / linux shares in READONLY mode.
Computer Shutdown schedule for bed time listeners. It supports viewing encrypted DVDs (Zone set DVDs). User has to option to load his favorite language font, for viewing subtitle User can set his favorite skin for xmms as default so that it loads on startup.
It runs a vnc server and can be accessed remotely from any vnc client.

- Idesk, a desktop program, was added.
- Mplayer, conky, and openbox were updated.
- Xdialog was added, providing an even easier interface.

Open Cubic Player is a music player which can play a wide variety of music formats. Currently it can play so called modules (MOD, XM, S3M, IT), MIDI, MP1-3, SID tunes, and CD audio.
Open Cubic Player supports many soundcards (SB, GUS, EWS, WSS, PAS, and many more). It features many different display modes for "looking" (text and graphics) at the music.
Enhancements:
- Mac OS X CoreAudio is now supported (which requires the CoreAudio SDK).
- MP3 detection is now working again.
- Some compiler warnings and various crash bugs have been eliminated.
