Hard Token Management Framework 1.0 Beta 2

Hard Token Management Framework 1.0 Beta 2

Hard Token Management Framework is used to manage the complete livecycle of an organizations Smartcard and/or USB dongles. more>>
Hard Token Management Framework is used to manage the complete livecycle of an organizations Smartcard and/or USB dongles.
It communicates with the tokens through a PKCS11 interface so it is possible to change hardware as long as they supply it with a good implementation of PKCS11.
It comes along quite with a few ready made modules that can be composed to fit the need of the organization. The Hard Token Management Framework is an Add-on to EJBCA Certificate Authority (see http://www.ejbca.org).
Main features:
- Support of Setec 4.3.1 and 4.4.1 cards (TODO check)
- Issuing cards with 1 or more certificates
- Support for 2 PIN, basic and signature
- Contains a Card Analyser that analyses the card for the card administrator to give a suggestion of what is wrong with the card
- Possibilty to issue ordinary, temporary and project cards with different validities
- When a ordinary or project card is generated is all previous cards revoked
- When a temporary card is issued is the ordinary card set on hold until the ordinary card is reactivated
- Userdata is fetched from existing user data source.
- Possibility to unlock cards without exposing the PUK. The PUK is stored encrypted in EJBCA database.
- Easy to renew an expiring card
- Cards not used anymore can be revoked and ereased.
- It is also possible for a card administrator to do some management remotely (without having the card) such as revoking and activating a ordinary card.
- For 24/7 working environments where a card administrator might not be available it is possible for a colleague to issue a card unlock or issue temporary card request that is sent to a central support unit for approval
- TaLiMa also have error reporting functionality where unexpected error can be sent to the technical administrators for analysis
Enhancements:
Bug:
- [HTMF-2] - Wrong error message analysing card
- [HTMF-10] - Applet works badly when closing and reloading the page
- [HTMF-11] - Only jdk 1.6 can be used to build, Arrays method used not supported in 1.5
Improvement:
- [HTMF-8] - Support certificates generated by other CAs
New Feature:
- [HTMF-12] - Check if card data is uploaded to DB during analysis

RefDbg 1.2

RefDbg 1.2

RefDbg is a GObject reference count debugger. more>>
RefDbg project is a GObject reference count debugger GObject is part of the glib library (not to be confused with glibc) which forms the basis of GTK+ (the Gimp ToolKit), Gnome, GStreamer and many other projects. The GObject library adds object oriented stuff to C which by itself lacks object oriented features.

Since C lacks garbage collection, a reference counting system is used. Each object has a count of how many other references (pointers) there are to it. Reference count bugs can be very hard to track down and can lead to crashes and memory leaks. Refdbg is a tool that can be used interactively with GDB to log, display and break on reference count activity, thereby making this task easier.

PearPC 0.4

PearPC 0.4

PearPC is an architecture-independent PowerPC platform emulator capable of running most PowerPC operating systems. more>>
PearPC is an architecture-independent PowerPC platform emulator capable of running most PowerPC operating systems.

This release fixes an ugly partition mapping bug which prevented PearPC to boot OpenDarwin. But the fix might cause regressions: so if your image is no longer booting and you can compile pearpc yourself, please talk to the pearpc-devel mailing list.

Installation:

-Get the Mandrake Installations CDs from a near mirror.
-Read the getting started document first.
-Join the club.
-Make sure you have configured with a big harddisk (3 GiB should do) and a CDROM with the Mandrake 9.1 PPC CD1 inserted. Select a 15 bit video mode. (ppc_start_resolution to 1, 4 or 7)
-Boot and you should get the yaboot menu.
-Press enter and wait.
-At some point, a graphical installer will show up.
-I wont partition your disk for you so you have to do it on your own
create 2 partitions: Apple bootstrap and a Linux onecontinue install.
It will ask you to insert another CD. Click "Change CD" and choose a different .iso or simply insert a different CD. Continue.
-Something bad may happen in the end of the install. Nevermind.

While the CPU emulation may be slow (1/500th or 1/15th, see above), the speed of emulated hardware is hardly impacted by the emulation; the emulated hard-drive and CDROM e.g. are very fast, especially with OS that support bus-mastering (Linux, Darwin, Mac OS X do).

Because the author has only access to a little-endian machine, PearPC will most likely only run on little-endian architectures. This shouldnt be hard to fix and the author would fix this himself if he such hardware. (You can donate some big-endian hardware to get this fixed!)

Equally, PearPC will probably only run on 32-bit architectures. This shouldnt be hard to fix either. (You can donate...)
A lot of unimplementated features are fatal (i.e. will abort PearPC).
Timings are very still a little bit inaccurate. Dont rely on benchmarks made in the client.

PearPC lacks a save/restore machine-state feature.
No Altivec support yet but being worked on.
No LBA48 (but LBA). Currently no support for hard disks greater than 128 GiB. Disks > 4GiB are not tested very well.

B-Chat 0.13

B-Chat 0.13

B-Chat is a small application which allows you to chat on Battle.net. more>>
B-Chat is a small application which allows you to chat on Battle.net.

It has no fancy GUI interface (yet :-), but I have plans for making it Gnome compliant.

However, at the moment it works pretty much like the regular UNIX telnet client, with the lines that are being sent and received mixed into eachother.

It can make it hard to read at times, but it serves my purpose.

I started work on this client because I wanted a way to chat with my friends on Battle.net while I was on Linux.

I really didnt feel like rebooting to Windows just to run TopazChat or ScumBot (I dont like Wine either :-), so I decided to code my own chat client.

The client is still in its early stages, so its very rough and may be hard to use. You have to supply the name o the Battle.net server that you are going to be connecting to. This will change in the future.

kaptcha 1.2

kaptcha 1.2

kaptcha project is a modern version of the SimpleCaptcha project. more>>
kaptcha project is a modern version of the SimpleCaptcha project. By default it is very easy to setup and use and the default output produces a captcha that is hard to bust and similar to the ones produced by Yahoo.com.
simplecaptcha is a wonderful product. By default it is very easy to setup and use and the default output produces a captcha that is hard to bust. The captchas it produces by default look very similar to the ones on yahoo.com.
However, it seems that simplecaptcha is unmaintained and there is some problems running the project with JDK 1.5. There is a bunch of bug reports, patches and forum messages noting these facts and no new releases or changes in about two years.
Why not use jCaptcha? It also is a great project, but it is more of a library rather than a quick solution. The default captchas that it produces are either too hard to read or not good enough for use on a public website. Its also rather slow. Sure, it is possible to spend a bunch of time learning their apis to produce something useful and Ive done that, but the reality is that I would prefer a simple jar I can just drop into my project, put a couple lines in my web.xml and go from there.
So, thats the reason and justification for kaptcha. This project is all about a supported, modern version of the existing code. Why the name kaptcha? Because the company I work for starts with a k.
Enhancements:
- JDK 1.4 is supported by adding Retroweaver support to the build system and a jdk1.4 jar is included with the distribution.

wmnetload 1.3

wmnetload 1.3

wmnetload is a network interface monitor dockapp for Window Maker. more>>
wmnetload is a network interface monitor dockapp for Window Maker. wmnetload is designed to fit well with dockapps like wmcpuload and wmmemmon.

It tracks whether the interface is functioning and displays current network interface throughput, along with an auto-scaling graph of recent network activity (the graph separates upstream and downstream traffic load cleanly without resorting to colors).

Configuring the Look

Since one of the main goals of wmnetload is to match the look-and-feel of wmcpuload, and since the look of wmcpuload was changed as of version 0.9, the look of wmnetload has also been revised. However, those who prefer the "classic" wmnetload look (or who are still using older versions of wmcpuload) can compile wmnetload to present the original look by passing --with-classic-look to `configure.

Interface Cycling

Although wmnetload can monitor only a single interface at a time, the interface being monitored can be selected by using mouse buton 3 to cycle through each of the available interfaces. Note that with the classic look, wmnetload does not display the name of the interface, which makes interface cycling hard to use without getting confused.

Alarm Mode

Like wmcpuload, wmnetload allows you to set an alarm value (in kbits/sec) that causes the display backlight to be turned on whenever it is exceeded. This is chiefly useful for alerting you to unusual or aberrant network behavior.

strhash 0.6.0

strhash 0.6.0

strhash is a hash table library. more>>
strhash is a hash table library.
A strhash is an associative array, mapping keys to values. Keys and values may be strings of up to 2 gigabytes (2^31) bytes of length, containing any possibly character. Keys need not be unique.
All hashing libraries i used before had some kind of more or less annoying limitations.
Main features:
- key sizes are often limited to a few or a few hundred bytes. While this is often enough is sometimes bites.
- key values are sometimes limited to a restricted character set.
- data sizes are also often limited.
- data values are sometimes limited to a restricted character set.
- the number of keys is often limited. Sometimes the libraries havent even been tested against a large number of keys, which is a recipe for disaster.
- keys may need to be unique.
- the implementations sometimes only have a high-level interface which make it hard to put wrappers around it. Strhash on the other hand only has a low-level interface and is explicitly meant to be used to but higher layers on top of it.
Enhancements:
- Added the strhash_load and strhash_save functions to save a hash to a file and reload it again.

FreeBSD ports monitoring 1.0

FreeBSD ports monitoring 1.0

FreeBSD ports monitoring project is a simple solution for monitoring what has changed in installed ports on a FreeBSD machine. more>>
FreeBSD ports monitoring project is a simple solution for monitoring what has changed in installed ports on a FreeBSD machine. It works quite well and shows me what is happening on some machines which are manage not only by me. And leaves some trace after handy portupgrade -a command.

But when many ports are upgraded at once output from this script becomes mess and it is hard to read what was added/removed and upgraded. Well it happens when change relates to two ports, neighbours in alphabetical sequence. Diff output with my modifiers becomes unacceptable. So I rewrote it and yes, it is now in Ruby.

QPVCalendarWidget 1.3

QPVCalendarWidget 1.3

QPVCalendarWidget is an extremely useful widget. more>>
QPVCalendarWidget is an extremely useful widget. With dependancy only on Qt4 no other libraries are needed inorder to use this widget; no depenancies means totally crossplatform for you the developer.

Unlike other Mini-Calendar widgets seen in Qt software such as the clock widget in the KDE Desktop, QPVCalendarWidget does not depend and never will on external libraries such as kdelibs which is hard to keep cross-platform especially when developing for Win32.

QPVCalendarWidget depends only on Qt4.

The goal of this project is to allow you to have a mini calendar for allowing users to select dates. Originating from PracticeVisions own need of a mini calendar LimeSG has opensourced this part of PracticeVision so you to can enjoy the ease of a simple calendar/graphical date selector in your application. Since Trolltech only supplies text based widgets for date, QPVCalendarWidget is the perfect solution for graphical date selection.

libqsearch 0.8

libqsearch 0.8

libqsearch provides an API for searching for a set of patterns. more>>
libqsearch is a C library aimed to search for set of patterns in buffers as fast as possible. It has also been ported to kernel space.

The idea is to have an API frontend that give you the ability to load plugins. Each plugin can provide one or more algorithms. Each algorithm can be instantiated to one or more search objects. Then you add patterns to the object (patterns can include (!), and can be case sensitive or not, include jokers, ..).

Then you compile it. The search object will then be able to search simultaneously every patterns (even of heterogeneous types) in a given buffer. One of the interests is the use of states to summarize a past search.

States are trivially implemented for automata based algorithms, and are not so hard to implement for other algorithms (if n is the longest pattern, just keep the n-1 last bytes in the state for the next search). This give you the ability to match patterns that overlap on 2 buffers without having to worry about that (TCP reassembly for IDSes is greatly simplified : no need to move paylods to adjacents zones, no need to keep a paylod in memory waiting for the next. Benefits for AV that work on flux could be great too).

This API is also implemented for linux kernels. For each algorithm, a wrapper is automatically generated for it to be compiled with the kernel. The API and the algorithms can also be compiled as LKM.
