Happy Camel 1 Beta 1
Happy Camel is intended to combine your digital camera with your GPS device. more>>
Happy Camel is intended to combine your digital camera with your GPS device. It you feed it a list of digital photos and a tracklog, it figures out where these images were taken.
Happy Camel can embed this position in the EXIF-data of your photos and create a .kmz file for Google Earth displaying your photos at the right positions along the tracklog.
Usage:
Happy Camel is a command-line tool, in which you should basically provide a directory with images and the position on your disk of a tracklog file. Running happycamel --help should provide you with all the necessary information.
Now what?
So, your pictures have their GPS-coordinates embedded. Now what? Good question.
Of course you can have Happy Camel make a nice Google Earth file which shows a smalle version of your images in ther proper place. There are also several other resources which could display your images on a map, like Yuan.cc and Flickrmap, which require to have your photos on Flickr.
Theres currently a lot going on around GPS and photos. More options will probably present themselves.

Pyne 1.1.0
Pyne is an offline newsreader/emailer written in Python using the GTK+ toolkit. more>>
Pyne is an offline newsreader/emailer written in Python using the GTK+ toolkit. I started it because I wasnt happy with the graphical newsreaders available for linux. Of course, a few months later Pan and Knode started to kick arse... oh well.
Pyne 0.6.9 is for gtk1.2, and is a bit old and therefore crappy (it follows). Pyne 1.0.0 is shiny and new and for gtk2.0, and therefore great. Pyne 1.1.0 contains fixes and new features for gtk2.4+ (and mailbox formats are unchanged from 1.0.x, so you can use the two versions interchangably).
Pyne is free software and may be distributed under the terms of the GPL, etc...
Main features:
- Offline, threaded news reading and posting.
- Well... the posting is online actually but that cant be avoided. queued outgoing stuff anyway.
- SMTP sending and POP3 and IMAP4 collection of mail.
- Attachments and all that stuff.
- Simple mail/news filtering.
- Optional expiry of mail as well as news. Useful for mailing lists.
- hmm... nice graphical interface. im really scraping the barrel here...
- (Partial) support for MH mailboxes.
- Import and export unix mailbox format.
- External parsing of html messages (lynx -dump)

kluppe 0.5.1
kluppe is a loop-player and recorder, designed for live use. more>>
kluppe is a recorder and loop-player, designed for live use.
kluppe is the austrian word for clip or peg and sounds even crazier if you loop it.
kluppe is a looper software, built with live performances in mind. It runs under linux and uses jack for audio i/o. It is released under the gnu license. you can download, use and redistribute it for free.
I wrote it for my own needs, but im always happy to hear about other peoples experiences or needs concerning kluppe.
Main features:
- loading of (.wav, .aiff...) soundfiles into (memory-)buffers
- saving / loading of settings
- creating of empty buffers
- playing and recording of multiple buffers via loop-players
- direct (gui-) access to all loopers
- combined- and per loop output-ports for jack
- different playmodes including "granular"
- uses 32bit buffers internally
Compiling:
if you have all libraries (and their corresponding developer-sources) installed,
it should simply compile with make.
make install as root copies the binary to /usr/local/bin
sorry - no nifty autogen, configure... yet
if you run into troubles please let me know.
Enhancements:
- corrected grain wrap around loopborders
- reduce grain offsets to smoothen pitch shift
- fix possible segfault for very small grains
- improve klopfers shuttle control
- simple midi control for granular pitchhift + bend
- avoid "differ in signedness" warnings for gcc4
- fix stepsize for output-volume fader
- fix grainsize spinbutton behaviour
- moved parts of main menu to "Edit" menu

schwanz3 RC11
schwanz3 is a personal system measurement utility. more>>
schwanz3 is a personal system measurement utility. schwanz3 is in no way objective nor does it want to be. Its simple aim is to compare systems and egos based on your personal "penis size".
schwanz3 was inspired by a script called schwanz.sh, which took only very less aspects of the system. schwanz3 is currently not yet finished, but beeing written.
Still, there are the release candidates available, which are working, but which partly may misfunction.
schwanz3 is currently Linux-specific. If someone cares and wants it on another Unix-alike OS, I am happy to accept `diff -u`s.
Enhancements:
- A large bug where Ogg was interchanged with MP3 has been fixed.
- A workaround for ck_uptime on Solaris has been added. Ogg, FLAC, and MP3 only count +1 now (music is not so important).

GIPSpin 0.1.4
GIPSpin is a graphical interface programming system which allows code to be visualized. more>>
GIPSpin is a graphical interface programming system which allows code to be visualized and which can generate threaded code.
The user constructs code segments using visual boxes. The program flow is represented as links between the boxes. Complex elements such as threader boxes are available to implement threading.
Currently, simple C code can be automatically parsed and visualized. The user can also start with the GUI to construct code segments which are turned into C++ code.
Intended Audience:
Researchers and programmers who are interested in visual programming and threading. As stated in the development status, a lot of work remains to be done, and we would be happy for suggestions and comments.
We have found that the GIPSpin approach is also helpful for beginning programmers by reducing the intimidation factor in jumping right to text programming, and also helping develop better mental skills for grasping program flow. Seeing how the structured boxes generate code makes the task of programming seem less daunting.

Module::Starter::PBP is a Perl module to create a module as recommended in "Perl Best Practices".
SYNOPSIS
# In your ~/.module-starter/config file...
author: < Your Name >
email: < your@email.addr >
plugins: Module::Starter::PBP
template_dir: < /some/absolute/path/name >
# Then on the command-line...
> module-starter --module=Your::New::Module
# Or, if youre lazy and happy to go with
# the recommendations in "Perl Best Practices"...
> perl -MModule::Starter::PBP=setup
This module implements a simple approach to creating modules and their support files, based on the Module::Starter approach. Module::Starter needs to be installed before this module can be used.
When used as a Module::Starter plugin, this module allows you to specify a simple directory of templates which are filled in with module-specific information, and thereafter form the basis of your new module.
The default templates that this module initially provides are based on the recommendations in the book "Perl Best Practices".

PHP-STL 1.0 Beta
php-stl is a templating implementation similar to javas JSTL. more>>
php-stl project is a templating implementation similar to javas JSTL.
This is a tag-based template engine with configurable classes to handle various tags. The templates are written in XML, which differs from the JSTL, but provides clean output.
Note that php-stl does not provide its own template handling, but instead piggybacks on either PHPSavant or Smarty as a compiler. Note also that php-stl is designed for PHP 5, though a PHP 4 implementation wouldnt be difficult.
Support for smarty was a bolt-on after the fact, so the code isnt quite as clean as it should be, but thats why its a beta. Were happy to hear feedback to move this to a 1.0 stable release at php-stl ~at! redtreesystems.

Goat 1.2
Goat is a tournament organiser assistant. more>>
Goat is a tournament organiser assistant. Goat is designed to help run long tournaments that are primarily organised by e-mail, such as Toulouses Permanent Go Tournament: a round is played each month, and its up to the players to arrange their meeting time and place.
Experience has shown that players need reminders to play their games, give results etc: basically, they need babysitting all along. As soon as the number of players grows, it becomes unpractical to manage this by hand. This is where Goat comes in: after pairing the players, the tournament admin will enter the pairing data into Goat, and Goat will take over all the remaining business.
Goat currently operates entirely in French, however all its source code is in English and I hope to make it easy to add languages. I currently plan to do that after the program has been tested in real life though. If you are interested in getting multi-language support quicker, drop me a line and Ill be happy to add it (or help you add it).
Enhancements:
- This is a massive rewrite.
- Data is now stored in a smarter format that allows you to save all rounds in one file.
- Data is no longer stored in Ssf, but using Data::Dumper (experiments with XML proved to be unusable).
- The code has been reorganised into modules.
- Helper programs have been added to register a list of players from an address book, export the status of games in HTML, and create new rounds from a Gotha pairing file.

Tvark 0.4
Tvark is a network monitoring tool (sniffer) with a GUI front-end, and is tied to a MySQL database. more>>
Tvark is a network monitoring tool (sniffer) with a GUI front-end, and is tied to a MySQL database. Tvark is necessarily resource-intensive. It is a multithreaded, database utility for recording network traffic. As a consequence, it uses 100% of the CPU simply because of context-switching and packet handling. Additionally, using the database with Tvark on a high traffic network will generate a great deal of stored data quite rapidly, hence filtering options.
The database is set to record traffic based on the filtering options selected in the GUI. This will change in a future release so that database population will have its own filtering options without having to run the GUI.
What we are looking to provide is a forensic tool that meets two needs. First, an admin should be able to get a feel for traffic on the network by running the GUI, and be able to determine traffic of interest quickly and visually. Second, a simple database of traffic information allows us, and anyone else, to build forensic modules that display traffic information in a customized (and thereby useful) way.
Enhancements:
- Rename MIN/MAX to avoid name conflicts.
- Avoid creating mutex before pthread_create to make some libcs happy.
