Xtra Screen Hacks is a collection of graphics display modes that are meant to be run with a daemon such as XScreenSaver.

"Daisy" draws spinning flowers, and "Twinkle" draws a twinkling star field.

Compilation of Xtra Screen Hacks depends only on xlib.

Installation:

The configure script is not up and running yet, so the Makefiles and config.h are hacked versions of the ones xscreensavers configure script generated on the authors machine. If your system differs from the authors (i686 Debian GNU/Linux) then the build will probably not work for you, unless you hack the Makefiles and possibly config.h to modify the variables and defines.

If the Makefiles and config.h are ok, then simply run

$ make

to generate the binaries. They will be in the hacks directory.
If you have a copy of XScreensaver installed from the tarball, run

$ make install

If not, you will need to copy the files to their target directories by hand. Search for deluxe, deluxe.xml, and deluxe.1 (or deluxe.man, deluxe.6x.gz, etc) using locate, find, or whereis to figure out where they should go. The binaries and xml files must be in the correct directories
to work properly with xscreensaver-demo.

You will need to add entries to your .xscreensaver file by hand. Open $HOME/.xscreensaver in your favorite text editor and paste the following two lines into the "programs" section:

Then run xscreensaver-demo to activate and configure the hacks.

If you dont have XScreensaver at all, just enjoy the hacks in an X window.

If make install worked for you, type

$ make uninstall

when you no longer want the new screen hacks.

Hackz 2 is a CLI like hacking game. The user types in commands. Hackz 2 is a puzzle game for Linux.
The user hacks computers and earns money this way, and then he can buy better hardware or software.
Main features:
- Borrow money from the bank.
- Buy weapons and guns to defend yourself from attacks.
- Start at level 1 and gain XP to gain higher levels.
- And a lot more to come.
Installation and Usage:
Compile with: ./compile
Start with: mono Hackz2.exe

Emblems Hack is a simple hack to kdelibs-3.5.5 (and 3.5.6) that adds basic emblem support, like in GNOME. (It doesnt use the same format, though.)

There is currently no GUI to select emblems for files, so to set an emblem, run this command: attr -s emblem -V icon-name file

icon-name can be either a valid KDE icon name or an absolute path (e.g. /home/user/icon.png).

Currently, emblems are not drawn on thumbnail previews. Ill attempt to fix this in the next version.

dtRdr::Hack is a Perl module with self-documenting adaptive finger-wagging global vars.

SYNOPSIS

This is a global store for things that cannot otherwise be cleanly solved at the moment.

Basically, just a way to formalize global variable sharing.
Arrays, hashes, objects, and globs are all passed and stored directly as references.

Declarations

Variables are declared in the %declarations and %deprecated hashes in the Hack.pm code. To deprecate variables, move them rather than duplicating.

The behavior is controlled by the following constants, which should be similar to perls warnings and strict pragmas (less the lexical aspects and dynamic switchability.)

TODO: you can currently set an object where you declared a hash, but STRICT should probably not allow that.

Moving variables to %deprecated allows you to denote that your code should no longer be using these.

NOTE: The sub {_die ex_sub} idiom lets you stop yourself from calling what you thought was set elsewhere.

This document attempts to explain how to start working on Pugs, as well as conventions used in day-to-day development.

Really Slick XScreenSavers project is a GLX port of the Really Slick Screensavers collection by Terry Welsh.

The screensavers can be installed as standalone programs or as XScreenSaver hacks.

ArchLog is a log-oriented GUI for the Arch revision control system. ArchLog allows you to take notes as you hack, structuring the changes by categories. At commit time, ArchLog will generate a consistently and nicely-formatted log file.

It features assigning new versions to a project tree, adding/removing files for a project, packing a project into archives (tar.gz, tar.bz2, tar, zip), a todo manager with categorized tasks, global or per-project preferences, TODO file generation, and full customization from the GUI.
