GUPnP 0.4

GUPnP 0.4

GUPnP application is an object-oriented open source framework for creating UPnP devices and control points. more>>
GUPnP application is an object-oriented open source framework for creating UPnP devices and control points, written in C using GObject and libsoup. The GUPnP API is intended to be easy to use, efficient and flexible.

The GUPnP framework consists of the following two libraries:

GSSDP implements resource discovery and announcement over SSDP.
GUPnP implements the UPnP specification: resource announcement and discovery, description, control, event notification, and presentation (GUPnP includes basic web server functionality through libsoup). GUPnP does not include helpers for construction or control of specific standardized resources (e.g. MediaServer); this is left for higher level libraries utilizing the GUPnP framework.
The GUPnP framework was born out of frustration with libupnp and its mess of threads. GUPnP is entirely single-threaded (though asynchronous), integrates with the GLib main loop, and provides the same set of features as libupnp while hiding most of the UPnP internals through an elegant object-oriented design.

This project is free software released under the GNU LGPL.

LogPot 1.0.4

LogPot 1.0.4

LogPot provides a simple logging IRC bot that runs on a single server and on multiple channels. more>>
LogPot provides a simple logging IRC bot that runs on a single server and on multiple channels.

LogPot is a simple IRC logging bot. It supports logging multiple channels on a single server.

To log is a verbed derivative of the noun logbook; the verb form means to record in a logbook, and may have been coined in the 1820s. The term logbook itself stems from the practice of floating a stationary "log" (actually a wooden block attached to a reel via rope) to provide a fixed point of reference for the purpose of measuring a ships speed (see Knot (speed)). Computer scientists adopted the verb to log circa 1963 to describe the systematic recording of specific types of data processing events.

PieSpy 0.4.0

PieSpy 0.4.0

PieSpy is an IRC bot that monitors a set of IRC channels. more>>
PieSpy is an IRC bot that monitors a set of IRC channels. It uses a simple set of heuristic methods to infer relationships between pairs of users. These inferrences allow PieSpy to build a mathematical model of a social network for any channel. These social networks can be drawn and used to create animations of evolving social networks.
PieSpy has also been used to visualize Shakespearean social networks. This page got slashdotted on 11 March 2004, with the site getting 250,000 hits per hour. Thanks to Notnet for making sure it all stayed alive!
PieSpy was presented at the Information Visualization conference (IV04) in July 2004. Read the full paper online. It has also appeared in Computer Weekly, ct magazine, and I was interviewed live on BBC Radio Kent.
Enhancements:
- Now tracks nickname changes. Generates images five times faster. Removes formatting and colors from messages. The source code has been refactored to make it easy to add new InferenceHeuristics, which are used to work out who is talking to whom - if you create any good ones, let me know! The config file lets you apply different weightings to each InferenceHeuristic.

Wallpapoz 0.4

Wallpapoz 0.4

Wallpapoz tool enables your Gnome desktop to have different wallpapers for different workspaces or virtual desktops. more>>
Wallpapoz tool enables your Gnome desktop to have different wallpapers for different workspaces or virtual desktops. It offers quick orientation cues where you are. The other reason is to increase eye candy. In this version, it support randomization.

It means you can group your wallpapers into spesific workspaces. You can manage it so that your cartoon wallpapers will be randomize for certain times in workspace one, your nature wallpapers in workspace two, your adult wallpapers in workspace three and your Gnome wallpapers in workspace four.

There are two programs. One is the daemon that will monitor your desktop continuously. So when you change workspace or specified time has passed, the daemon wil change your desktop wallpaper.

The daemon it self reads your wallpapers list and preferation then acts according to that. The configuration file is written in xml format. Of course you can edit with any text editor but that is not convenient.

To make it easy, there is another program to edit this configuration file. Click the button, find the wallpapers that you would like to put into spesific workspace. Please see the screenshot to see how it works.

The daemon program name is daemon_wallpapoz.py. You need to add this program into Gnome start up programs list if you want every time you log into Gnome session, your Gnome desktop will have the ability to have different wallpapers for different workspaces. But first you need to make the configuration file by using program that called wallpapoz.py.

Nicq 0.4.2

Nicq 0.4.2

Nicq, like the name suggests (NewICQ), is a new ICQ client for linux. more>>
Nicq, like the name suggests (NewICQ), is a new ICQ client for linux. But this aint a clone of the Mirabilis client, its a totally new interface and new way of using the ICQ IM protocol.
Welcome to the New ICQ client. The interface has changed since last bersion, but I think its for the best. Anyway, youll see by yourself. Ive decided to combine the way irc clients work with the ICQ protocol. Hope you like it.
Until I write a graphical window to change the plugin options, youll have o go in the ~/.licq/nicq_gui.conf file to modify options. When you install a new version and if that new version has new options, you should backup your options file and then delete it. Or you can manually add the options that are missing.
Enhancements:
- Changed the headers options: there are now a lot more configurable.
- Changed the location of the nicq_gui.conf file. It now resides into: ~/.nicq/ . Make sure to create that directory as indicated in the INSTALL File.
- Fixed some bugs;

Knab 0.4.2

Knab 0.4.2

Knab is a completely modular bot with support for any number of sources (e.g., IRC, a Web page, the console, etc.). more>>
Knab is a completely modular bot with support for any number of sources (e.g., IRC, a Web page, the console, etc.). Knab was originally designed as a drop-in replacement for infobot, but has expanded into a fully-functional modular bot. It is not IRC-specific: it has been designed so that it can accept events from any source. In addition, its behaviour is finely configurable, each aspect of its functionality being controlled by hot-pluggable modules which can be loaded and unloaded while the bot is still running. New modules are easy to write, making the bot able to behave in any way the bots owner wants.

Knab means for "Knab is Not A Bot", and is a bottom-up implementation of a general purpose "bot": effectively a program that takes text as input, and gives replies based on the input. The most common use is as a bot on an IRC channel, doing Google lookups, dictionary definitions, Weather checking, and general fact remembering.

Knab is written completely in perl, and will thus run on any platform that perl will, although I am developing on a FreeBSD machine with perl 5.005_03.

Knab differs from other bots I have seen (notably infobot (http://www.infobot.org)) in that it is completely modular: everything is a module that can be enabled and disabled. It is "source" independent (i.e. the source of the text can be IRC, the console, a web-based form, a network socket, Jabber, etc, as long as a module has been written for the medium), and the modules are hot-pluggable.
