);

This module provides a URL generator function for retrieving historical data for weather stations from Weather Underground (http://wunderground.com).

Additionally, a function to clean up the data retrieved from said URLs is provided. Nominally, the content retrieved from the URLs is in CSV (Comma Separated Values) format. If you enter these URLs into a web browser, the data does appear to be in that format.

However, the MIME type given for the data by the web server is text/html and the data contains < br > tags and HTML comments (though no < html >, < head >, or < body > tags that you would expect for an HTML document). Thus, if a user copies and pastes the data from the web browser, the

Multiplication Station 1.3.3

Multiplication Station 1.3.3

Multiplication Station is an application to help memorize multiplication tables through 12x12. more>>
Multiplication Station project is an application to help memorize multiplication tables through 12x12. The user logs in and faces a blank 12x12 grid.
The program gives all the products in random order. When a correct answer is given, the problem is marked "complete" and the corresponding grid cell displays the product (i.e. row * col). If a wrong answer is given then the problem is inserted at a random position in the problem queue and asked again later.
The countdown-timer works as follows: if set for "5", then after 5 seconds, if no answer yet entered, the problem is re-inserted in the problem queue to be asked again, later. This has been found to keep kids more focused.
The administrator can change the operator for each account separately among {+,-,*} for the analogous exercises.
Main features:
- Multiple Account control via Admin Interface
- Separate configurations for each account
- High-Score display encourages competition
- Configurable countdown timer encourages attention
- Configurable number of points to award
- Configurable operator support for add/sub/mult
- Configurable colors
Enhancements:
- The admin panel has been made resizable.
- A call to the anti-alias function that affected some displays has been fixed.

Station Info 2.3

Station Info 2.3

Station Info program searches for and displays AM, FM, and TV station. more>>
Station Info program searches for and displays AM, FM, and TV station entries from databases supplied by the US Federal Communications Commission (also known as the FCC).

The station-info program provides many ways of selecting a collection of stations for display, and several criteria by which these stations can be sorted.

Detailed information on each station is available, including an antenna radiation pattern, ownership information, and whatever else seems useful.

The program is currently available in source code form only. It has been developed and tested on a GNU/Linux platform, but should build without problem on any platform that supports the Gtk+ toolkit and the Gnome libraries.

RecordRadio 0.2.3

RecordRadio 0.2.3

RecordRadio is a basic bash script that plugs into amarok and uses streamripper to record radio stations. more>>
RecordRadio is a basic bash script that plugs into amarok and uses streamripper to record radio stations you listen to and add the songs into your music collection.

RecordRadio script is not very sophisticated right now but it should be easy for anyone to edit or enhance.

Simply enable it as a plugin, and when you connect to any URL that starts with http:// the plugin will spawn a instance of streamripper that will record the songs and place them in subdirectories within a directory called "Music" in your home.

Five seconds after connecting to the recording has started amarok will start listening to streamrippers relay server on port 8017 so as not to use twice as much bandwidth as needed.

Because of its simplistic design it has the following shortcomings:

If you wish to change the streamripper options or the directory where things get stored you have to edit the file manually.
(This can be fixed as soon as a dcop interface is provided to preferences.)
When you start an internet radio station your playlist will be cleared.
(This can be fixed as soon as the amarok developers fix the playMedia dcop call)
There is a five second delay before everything is running.
Sometimes the server is full and cannot support an additional connection for streamripper so you cant record that station.

RecordRadio is released under the GPL.

Ivy software bus 3.8.1

Ivy software bus 3.8.1

Ivy is a simple protocol and a set of open-source libraries and programs that allows applications to broadcast information. more>>
Ivy is a simple protocol and a set of open-source libraries and programs that allows applications to broadcast information through text messages, with a subscription mechanism based on regular expressions.
Ivy libraries are available in C, C++, Java and Perl, on Windows and Unix boxes and on Macs. Several Ivy utilities and hardware drivers are available too.
Ivy is currently used in research projects in the air traffic control and human-computer interaction research communities as well as in commercial products. It is also taught to CS students.
Ivy is a CENA product.
Main features:
- Ivy is not based on a centralised server. Actually, Ivy is mostly a communication convention, implemented through a collection of libraries for various languages and platforms. The current version of the Ivy protocol is version 3, which has been stable for the last 3 years.
- Language bindings are available in C (Unix and Windows), C++ (Mac, Unix, Windows), Java and Perl. There have been successful uses through the C library
- Messages are formatted in text, and subscriptions are based on regular expressions. Plans to move to an XML-based subscription language are on their way.
- From the programmers point of view, Ivy is an information broadcasting channel. The main functions are:
- connecting to a bus. Example: IvyInit (b, "192.126:2011")
- sending a message. Example: IvySend (b, "HELLO %s", world)
- binding a message pattern to a callback function. Example: IvyBind (b, "HELLO (.*)", cb)
- the main loop. Example : IvyLoop ()
- Subscriptions are managed on the emitters side, which limits the actual network traffic.
- Direct point-to-point messages are also available.
- Ivy was designed by a research group in Human-Computer Interaction, with the goals of connecting applications written on different toolkits/languages/platforms (such as an OpenGL application on a SGI connected to a PerlTk application on a Linux box), while keeping it simple: no server to be lauched and supervised, a simplistic API, and a communication model compatible with classical event-based GUI progamming. We think we have somewhat reached our goal...
Enhancements:
- This release mostly contains bugfixes and code cleanup.

rstudio 0.6

rstudio 0.6

rstudio is a GTK+ GUI that controls programs used in recording, CD mastering, and managing a SHOUTcast server. more>>
rstudio project is a GTK+ GUI that controls programs used in recording, CD mastering, and managing a SHOUTcast server.
The "Radio Station" referred to here is a Shoutcast server. Before you can play any music on the station, you need to either record your own, or use a Peer-to-Peer program or other source to download some music.
The GTK-Gnutella button starts a peer to peer fileshareing program called GTK-Gnutella where you can get a wide variety of music free.
Start Radio station starts up the shoutcast server and its source client, which feeds an mp3 playlist to the server for broadcast.
The playlist file is created when you press the "Close" button in the playlist manager. The playlist manager lets you view either the downloaded files from GTK-Gnutella, or the permanent collection of files. You can select a file, then move it to the permanent collection, only if you are viewing the downloaded files. For either set, you may delete a file, or play it.
Audacity is a very versatile recording tool that can be used to create original content, or to record from other sources, such as a Shoutcast.com station, (or even your own shoutcast station).
Shoutcast.com button starts firefox, with the url of http://www.shoutcast.com so that you may listen to other shoutcast stations, or your own.
Kill XMMS stops any running xmms.
Quit exits rstudio.
GTK-Gnutella starts the P-2-P filesharing system.
K3B can be used to master audio CDs, or even mp3 data CDs that can be played on an mp3-compatible cd player or dvd player.
Enhancements:
- A shuffle playlist button was added.
- The audio player was changed to Audacious since Gentoo does not support XMMS.
- This version was tested on Gentoo AMD64 and Kubuntu 386.

hostap 0.3.9

hostap 0.3.9

hostap is a Linux driver for wireless LAN cards based on Intersils Prism2/2.5/3 chipset. more>>
This is a Linux driver for wireless LAN cards based on Intersils Prism2/2.5/3 chipset. The driver supports a so called Host AP mode, i.e., it takes care of IEEE 802.11 management functions in the host computer and acts as an access point.
This does not require any special firmware for the wireless LAN card. In addition to this, normal station operations in BSS (infrastructure) and in IBSS (ad hoc). Current version of the Host AP driver and tools supports WPA in AP (Authenticator) and client (Supplicant) modes.
Intersils station firmware for Prism2/2.5/3 chipset supports a so called Host AP mode in which the firmware takes care of time critical tasks like beacon sending and frame acknowledging, but leaves other management tasks to host computer driver.
Main features:
This driver implements basic functionality needed to initialize and configure Prism2/2.5/3-based cards, to send and receive frames, and to gather statistics. In addition, it includes an implementation of following IEEE 802.11 functions:
- authentication (and deauthentication).
- association (reassociation, and disassociation).
- data transmission between two wireless stations.
- power saving (PS) mode signaling and frame buffering for PS stations.
The driver has also various features for development debugging and for researching IEEE 802.11 environments like access to hardware configuration records, I/O registers, and frames with 802.11 headers.
Enhancements:
- fixed background scans (iwlist wlan0 scan) not to break data connection when in host_roaming 2 mode (e.g., when using wpa_supplicant)
- fixed beacon frame when moving from monitor mode to master mode (workaround for firmware bug that left IBSS IE in the Beacon frames)
