General Graphical User Interface 0.5.1
General Graphical User Interface is a wizard-like environment to execute console commands graphically. more>>
General Graphics User Interface is an effort to produce a common graphical user interface for any command-line program.
It uses a wizard-like input front end to collect the information needed. It then calls the desired program automatically with all the necessary options.
The user is able to point&click on various options and select them in a convenient way. In order to create a new user-interface, a user doesnt need to know a programming language, since there is a graphical editor for new GGUI "scripts".

Shell for Simulated Agent Systems 1.9.2
SeSAm provides a generic environment for modelling and experimenting with agent-based simulation. more>>
SeSAm (Shell for Simulated Agent Systems) provides a generic environment for modelling and experimenting with agent-based simulation.
We specially focused on providing a tool for the easy construction of complex models, which include dynamic interdependecies or emergent behaviour.
SeSAm agents consist of a body, that contains a set of state variables and a behaviour that is implemented in form of UML-like diagram. Based on an extensive number of primitive components, a user is able to design a simulation graphically without knowing the syntax of a traditional programming language.
The model specification is executable in the same environment and the dynamics of this simulation may be observed. As there are freely configurable instruments for gathering data and scripting options for constructing simulation experiments, SeSAm is a highly valuable tool for MAS simulations especially for complex models with flexible agent behaviour and interactions.
Main features:
- Easy visual agent modelling,
- Flexible environment and situation definition,
- The whole power of a programming language,
- Integrated graphical simulation analysis ,
- Distribution of simulation runs in your LAN ,
- and many further features.....

Open CORBA Benchmarking Suite 1.17
Open CORBA Benchmarking Suite is a benchmarking suite for CORBA brokers. more>>
The Open CORBA Benchmarking Suite measures several basic performance aspects of various CORBA brokers.
The suite produces an XML output that can be submitted to a searchable database of broker performance data and browsed in a graphical form. The suite is portable to a number of platforms and brokers.
For C++ brokers
Enter the "C++" directory. Then enter the subdirectory of that directory that corresponds to the broker of your choice. Check the README file there for further instructions, usually you will use "make" to compile the benchmark.
For Java brokers
Enter the "Java" and then the "build" directory. Then enter the subdirectory of that directory that corresponds to the broker of your choice. Check the README file there for further instructions, usually you will use "ant" to compile the benchmark "ant run" to execute the benchmark.
Understanding results
The results do not get printed until the benchmark is finished, which can take from 2 to 4 hours depending on the platform. The best way to view the results is to capture them to a file and view them graphically at http://nenya.ms.mff.cuni.cz/~bench.
Enhancements:
- Support for system information on Linux 2.6 kernels.
- Slight extensions to the documentation.
- Support for some recent brokers on Solaris (VisiBroker 6.0, omniORB 4.0.5, JacORB 2.2.1).
- Support for some recent brokers on Linux (omniORB 4.0.5, JacORB 2.2.1, JDK 1.5.0, TAO 1.4.3).

DRBL Live Standard 20070323
Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL) provides a diskless or systemless environment for client machines. more>>
Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL) provides a diskless or systemless environment for client machines. DRBL Live Standard works on Debian, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Red Hat, Fedora, CentOS and SuSE. DRBL uses distributed hardware resources and makes it possible for clients to fully access local hardware. It also includes Clonezilla, a partitioning and disk cloning utility similar to Symantec Ghost.
The purpose of DRBL live is to let you run a machine as DRBL server without installation. Its based on Debian Live. DRBL live includes all the DRBL functions, plus Clonezilla. Therefore it can provide PXEBoot Clonezilla, which can be used to do massively clone in a computer classrom or similar environment. Multicast clone is also supported.
Generally speaking, DRBL live is server edition, while Clonezilla live is personal edition. The differece between DRBL live and Clonezilla live is: DRBL live provides DRBL functions (DHCP, TFTP, NFS, NIS services), so client can boot via PXE and be cloned. Since DRBL live includes all the Clonezilla programs, it can be used as an alternative of Clonezilla live.

WhileInterpreter 4.2
WhileInterpreter is an interpreter for the WHILE programming language used for learning purpose. more>>
WhileInterpreter is an interpreter for the WHILE programming language used for learning purpose.
WhileInterpreter has few constructs and easy semantics.
Command line interpreters allow users to issue various commands in a very efficient (and often terse) way. This requires the user to know the names of the commands and their parameters, and the syntax of the language that is interpreted. From the 1960s onwards, user interaction with computers was primarily by means of command line interfaces.
In the 1970s, researchers began to develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs)to provide an alternative user interface for computers, whereby commands were represented by pictorial operations, rather than as textual descriptions. Since they are easier to learn than command line interfaces, they have become the most common way of interacting with a computer.
However, command line interpreters remain widely used in conjunction with GUIs. For some complex tasks, the latter are less effective because of the large number of menus and dialog boxes presented and because of the innate difficulty of representing the underlying task graphically.

Filelight 1.0
Filelight allows you to understand exactly where your diskspace is being used. more>>
Filelight allows you to understand exactly where your diskspace is being used by graphically representating your filesystem as a set of concentric segmented-rings.
Filelight creates a complex, but data-rich graphical representation of the files and directories on your computer. An example of Filelights representation of KDEs disk usage is shown below. It is important to understand that the full circle represents 143MB, and there are 143MB of files contained recursively in the directory.
Segments are sized relative to the files they represent. Directories have child-segments that represent the files in that directory. Hovering over any segment gives you details about the file it represents, such as its size.
The net-result is something similar to KDirStat, however the data is more dense, and the representation more informative. Most people tend to use Filelight to find out where their diskspace is concentrated, and this is what it is mostly designed to do.
Filelight is released under the GNU General Public License.

TeamSpeak 2 2.0.32.60
Teamspeak is a quality, scalable application which enables people to speak with one another over the Internet. more>>
Teamspeak is a quality, scalable application which enables people to speak with one another over the Internet. Teamspeak consists of both client and server software. The Teamspeak server acts as a host to multiple client connections, capable of handling literally thousands of simultaneous users.
This results in an Internet based teleconferencing solution that works in a variety of applications such as team mates speaking with one another while playing their favorite online game, small businesses cutting costs on long distance charges, or for personal communication with friends and family.
Among Teamspeaks incredible range of features are crystal clear voice communication, Windows/Linux cross-platform design for both the client and server, a built-in web based administration panel for the server, and a highly scalable user permissions system.
An added feature to Authorized Teamspeak Host Providers (ATHPs) that wish to rent servers to their customers includes the ability to spawn multiple instances of the server from a single server session, thus easily facilitating "server-farming".

Class::MakeMethods::Template::Generic 1.01
Class::MakeMethods::Template::Generic Perl module contains templates for common meta-method types. more>>
Class::MakeMethods::Template::Generic Perl module contains templates for common meta-method types.
SYNOPSIS
package MyObject;
use Class::MakeMethods (
Template::Hash:new => [ new ],
Template::Hash:scalar => [ foo ]
Template::Static:scalar => [ bar ]
);
package main;
my $obj = MyObject->new( foo => "Foozle", bar => "Bozzle" );
print $obj->foo();
$obj->bar("Bamboozle");
This package provides a variety of abstract interfaces for constructors and accessor methods, which form a common foundation for meta-methods provided by the Hash, Scalar, Flyweight, Static, PackageVar, and ClassVar implementations.
Generally speaking, the Generic meta-methods define calling interfaces and behaviors which are bound to differently scoped data by each of those subclasses.
new Constructor
There are several types of hash-based object constructors to choose from.
Each of these methods creates and returns a reference to a new blessed instance. They differ in how their (optional) arguments are interpreted to set initial values, and in how they operate when called as class or instance methods.

eSpeak 1.28
eSpeak is a software speech synthesizer for English, and potentially other languages. more>>
eSpeak is a software speech synthesizer for English, and potentially other languages.
eSpeak produces good quality English speech. It uses a different synthesis method from other open source TTS engines, and sounds quite different. Its perhaps not as natural or "smooth", but I find the articulation clearer and easier to listen to for long periods.
eSpeak project can run as a command line program to speak text from a file or from stdin. It works well as a "Talker" with the KDE text to speech system (KTTS), as an alternative to Festival for example. As such, it can speak text which has been selected into the clipboard, or directly from the Konquerer browser or the Kate editor.
- Includes different Voices, whose characteristics can be altered.
- Can produce speech output as a WAV file.
- Can translate text to phoneme codes, so it could be adapted as a front end for another speech synthesis engine.
- Potential for other languages. Rudimentary (and probably humourous) attempts at German and Esperanto are included.
- Compact size. The program and its data total about 350 kbytes.
- Written in C++.
I regularly use it to listen to blogs and news sites. I prefer the sound through a domestic stereo system rather than my small computer speakers.
INSTALLATION:
- Place the "speak" executable file in the command path, eg in /usr/local/bin
- Place the "speak-data" directory in /usr/share as /usr/share/speak-data.
Alternatively if it is placed in the users home directory (i.e. /home/ /speak-data) then that will be used instead.
- Dependencies.
speak uses the PortAudio sound library, so you will need to have the libportaudio0 library package installed. It may be already, since its used by other software, such as OpenOffice.org and the Audacity sound editor.
COMMAND OPTIONS:
Examples
To use at the command line, type:
speak -f < text file >
Or just type
speak
followed by text on subsequent lines. Each line is spoken when RETURN is pressed. Use speak -p to see the corresponding phonemes codes.
echo "This is a test" | speak
Speaking from a single line command.
Enhancements:
- Roman number translation added for some languages.
- Improvements to languages, including en-r, Hungarian, Romanian.
- Various bug fixes.

Workstations on local area networks can generally communicate with excellent audio quality and response. A software implementation (developed by Jutta Degener and Carsten Bormann, Technische
Universitaet Berlin) of the compression algorithm used in GSM digital cellular telephones allows operation over Internet links of modest bandwidth. By using GSM compression in conjunction with sample interpolation, the data rate can be reduced to about 9600 baud.
