The Bio::Graphics::Panel class provides drawing and formatting services for any object that implements the Bio::SeqFeatureI interface, including Ace::Sequence::Feature and Das::Segment::Feature objects. It can be used to draw sequence annotations, physical (contig) maps, or any other type of map in which a set of discrete ranges need to be laid out on the number line.

The module supports a drawing style in which each type of feature occupies a discrete "track" that spans the width of the display. Each track will have its own distinctive "glyph", a configurable graphical representation of the feature.
The module also supports a more flexible style in which several different feature types and their associated glyphs can occupy the same track. The choice of glyph is under run-time control.

Semantic zooming (for instance, changing the type of glyph depending on the density of features) is supported by a callback system for configuration variables. The module has built-in support for Bio::Das stylesheets, and stylesheet-driven configuration can be intermixed with semantic zooming, if desired.

You can add a key to the generated image using either of two key styles. One style places the key captions at the top of each track. The other style generates a graphical key at the bottom of the image.

Note that this module depends on GD. The optional SVG output depends on GD::SVG and SVG.

Linux graphical bootsplash allows you to use custom graphics during early system startup. It makes it possible to place a nice graphic behind or above the kernel boot messages.
Linux graphical bootsplash hooks into the fbcon layer and, if activated, searches the initial ramdisk for a JPEG picture to show.
On any output operations to the console, it takes care of painting a margin around your text and a background picture behind the text with a set of special cfb functions.
Main features:
- Nice graphics (JPEG)
- Antialiased text rendering (TrueType)
- Animations (MNG)
- Progress Bar
- Display of boot messages above or below a graphic. ("verbose" and "silent" modes)
- Fully themeable

Graphical certification authority 0.6.4

Graphical certification authority 0.6.4

Graphical certification authority project is a graphical user interface to OpenSSL, RSA/DSA public keys, certificates,etc. more>>
Graphical certification authority project is a graphical user interface to OpenSSL, RSA/DSA public keys, certificates, signing requests and revokation lists.
The keys have an internal counter, counting its use to avoid a duplicate use of a key for creating a certificate or request.
The Keys are of course encrypted in the db file.
Xca supports next to the usual PEM and DER format of certificates the import and export of PKCS#12 (aka *.pfx) files and the Certificate import from PKCS#7 files.
Certificates can be created by self signing it, by signing it by an other (usually CA) certificate or by signing a PKCS#10 request. Netscape SPKAC is supported since version 0.4.6. The validity dates and x509.v3 extensions can be adjusted to fit ones needs. The use of multiple certificates in CA chains is supported and a tree view of the certificates reflects the dependencies. The application takes care to not create duplicate certificates by checking the serial number(s) on import and creation of certificates.
Certificate Templates can be used to preset the input dialog with reasonable values and to simplify the process of creating certificates and requests.
Issued certificates can be revoked and the revokation list can be created and exported. External revokation lists can be imported and examined.
Enhancements:
- This version fixes an issue where some CA signed certificates were not sorted correctly below that CA.
- Malformed certificates no longer cause a crash.
- The string encoding rules for the distinguished name can now be set in the options dialog and PKCS#10 attributes can be set and inspected.

Plone Google Maps is a product which enables integration of Google Maps into Plone sites.

Plone Google Maps (qPloneGoogleMaps) is a Google Maps view product for the Plone content management system which enables integration of Google Maps into Plone sites.

Due to qPloneGoogleMaps you can set up the latitude and longitude of your site objects and have their maps exhibited on your site.

Any object with the latitude-longitude has an additional map portlet displaying this object. This portlet, in turn, has a template "Large screen". If you click on the large screen below the portlet, you will be able to see the full-size map of the page with its description.

The folders containing objects with the latitude-longitude parameters have an additional display view - "maps view", which gives an opportunity to see the full-size map with all these objects.

There is a new content type "Map" which can have other content types - "overlays". It enables the positioning of different objects on one map showing them with the markers of different colours.

Geotrace 0.0.4

Geotrace 0.0.4

Geotrace is a geographical traceroute utility. more>>
Geotrace is a geographical traceroute utility. Geotrace provide graphical view on the map. It has many geographical maps.
In order to be able to use a new map with geotrace, you only need to know one thing: the longitude/latitude of the top left and bottom right corners. Most maps you will find will be centered on 0,0 (about 5 degs south of Ghana and 10 degs west of Gabon. for those of you who dont know, its in Africa.). So, lets do it step by step:
1) Find a map. there are plenty on the web. Nasas a good place to find them (it is a mess though). Or grab one of the few maps at a site with maps for XGlobe and XPlanet.
The image must be in a format understood by gdk-pixbuf (most images youll find will be jpeg or gif which work).
2) Go to the maps/ directory in geotrace. Put the map in there and open up maps.properties
3) on the second line, youll see MAPS:World50.gif, World100.gif etc... Thats a list of all the maps. Add the name of your recently downloaded map on that line.
4) now, you need to tell geotrace what the coordinates are. Add a line to the file that looks as follows:
filename:BOUNDARY=lon1,lat1,lon2,lat2
filename: case sensitive, map has to be in the maps/ folder
lon1 and lat1: longitude and latitude of the top left corner
lon2 and lat2: longitude and latitude of the bottom right corner
As I said earlier, for most maps youll find, youll get -180,90,180,-90 which means that the map is centered on 0,0. However, the two world maps (World100 and World50) in geotrace are centered on 10W,0
You might notice that the three maps of the US have another line associated with them. Thats the alber projection. You probably wont have to deal with that.
4) Run geotrace, select your map from the drop-down and enjoy.
Version restrictions:
- Some hops may have extravagant locations, but for once, its not my fault. The netgeo server does not have fully updated records. So my advice is, just live with it
Enhancements:
- added line color and width options.
- added cmdline args. host to trace, and startup map.
- added map options: path to maps and startup map.
- warning to check paths when run for the first time.
- added status bar
- fixed draw_trace_on_map which didnt draw in certain cases (timeouts)
- fixed bug that caused crash when a hop times out and more hops repond later
- 2001-04-05
- added option: resolve host name or not
- load/save options from file (~/.geotrace) 2001-04-04
- fixed bug that caused last map in file not to be read (world100) 2001-04-03 added options for traceroute (path to exec, timeout and maxttl)

Image::WorldMap 0.14

Image::WorldMap is a Perl module to create graphical world maps of data. more>>
Image::WorldMap is a Perl module to create graphical world maps of data.

SYNOPSIS

use Image::WorldMap;
my $map = Image::WorldMap->new("earth-small.png", "maian/8");
$map->add(4.91, 52.35, "Amsterdam.pm");
$map->add(-2.355399, 51.3828, "Bath.pm");
$map->add(-0.093999, 51.3627, "Croydon.pm");
$map->draw("test.png");

This module helps create graphical world maps of data, such as the Perl Monger World Map (http://www.astray.com/Bath.pm/). This module takes in a number of label locations (longitude/latitude) and outputs an image. It can attach text to the labels, and tries to make sure that labels do not overlap.

It is intended to be used to create images of information such as "where are all the Perl Monger groups?", "where in the world are all the CPAN mirrors?" and so on.
This module comes with a low-resolution image of the world. Additional larger images have not been bundled with the module due to their size, but are available at: http://www.astray.com/WorldMap/
