Firefox LiveCD is LiveCD similar to LiveKiosk, but with original binary version of Mozilla Firefox. No changes were done to user interface and everything is set to Firefox defaults.

LiveFirefox is intended for people who want to have custom Firefox based LiveCD, but find LiveKiosk unsuitable for this purpose. You can find customization instructions in usersettings/ directory on CD.

TorK project offers a CD that allows you to use TorK on any computer.

This is a so-called LiveCD. You put it in the CD-Rom drive, turn on your computer and within a few minutes you will be using a Linux system with TorK and Tor running on it. The CD works without installing anything on the computer you use it on.

The CD is still experimental and not feature complete. It may not even be fully secure yet.

Slax AoE LiveCD 0.5

Slax AoE LiveCD 0.5

Slax AoE LiveCD is a bootable CD with AoE target and AoE iniziator programs. more>>
Slax AoE LiveCD is a bootable CD with AoE target and AoE iniziator programs. It can be used as AoE server/client.
It is almost standard Slax Frodo Edition with some modules needed to use AoE.
Usage:
Boot from a CD. Login as root with password toor. Then you have three possibility:
You can export partition as
vblade 0 0 eth0 /dev/sda2
You can use vbladed, so the program will be daemonized and its output will be sent to the logger program:
vbladed 0 1 eth0 /dev/sda3
You can use vbladectl. vbladectl is written by me for lazy people:
vbladectl start sda4
This will launch vblade as: vblade 0 0 eth0 /dev/sda4. Logging will be done in /tmp/log.
If you want to change shelf just do:
export SHELF=2
The same valid for slot number, interface and logging place:
export SLOT=4
export IF=eth2
export LOG=/var/log
To stop exporting do:
vbladectl stop sda4
Now if you will start exporting again it will start with the same slot value.
To stop and remove link from /service directory (forgetting slot number):
vbladectl remove sda4
vbladectl will increment slot number automatically. You should not increment it yourself every time by exporting SLOT variable. If you removed exported disks and want to start from 0 again than remove file /var/run/vblademem
You also can pass multiple disks to the script:
vbladectl start "sda1 hda3 sda4"
vbladectl remove "sda1 hda3 sda4"
Enhancements:
- Slax was upgraded to version 5.1.8, vblade to 13, and nmap to 4.11.
- The standard Slackware rc.inet1 was added.
- It is now possible to set a static IP address if you install the distribution onto a hard drive.

Paldo LiveCD 2005-10-22

Paldo LiveCD 2005-10-22

paldo is a Upkg driven GNU/Linux distribution. more>>
Paldo is a Upkg driven GNU/Linux distribution. Its kind of a mix of a source and a binary distribution. Even though it builds packages like a source distribution it provides binary packages.
Paldo stands for "pure adaptable linux distribution" and we try to accomplish this in every package. paldo comes with very few patches against its packages. We have virtually no local changes, means every patch is one which will go upstream anyway (e.g. compile fixes) or one needed by the LFS build system to enable us to boostrap correctly.
Its very easy to make changes to the distro. You can change every package by providing a local version of the sources and specifications youve changed. You can even configure your system automatically through local differencial repositories (see My paldo). The whole distribution is very flexible because its built on top of Upkg.
Paldo wants to be a distribution according to the "just-works" principle. It tries to configure automatically as much as possible without user intervention. paldo is task-oriented, means, that we wont provide several programs to do one and the same task, we will select the program which we think does this task best, and include it into paldo. paldo aims to support cutting-edge technologies. It is pure NPTL based (no linuxthreads support) and therefore does not work with a Linux kernel older than 2.6.x.
Since paldo is task oriented we also have only one desktop environment, the GNOME desktop environment.
Paldo does not split packages, means, all development files will be installed if you install a library. All files you need around a package will be available as soon as it is installed.
Paldo only supports the x86 architecture at the moment and we do not plan to extend that much (except of the x86_64 platform). It is a _very_ popular arch making us the life very easy.
Main features:
- OpenOffice.org 2.0 Beta
- Support x86_64 systems
- gcc 4.0
- Added Bluefish Web Development Editor
- Many smaller package updates
