gewee game 3.6

gewee game 3.6

gewee game is a Go-like board game with next generation graphics. more>>
gewee game is a Go-like board game with "next generation" graphics.

This is a game between a human ("player") and a computer ("opponent"). The players objective is to accumulate as many points as possible. When the player wins a game, a point is added to his/her score. When the player loses a game, a point is subtracted from his/her score. The competitor with the most pieces on the board at the end of the game is the winner. A game is finished when a competitor forfeits, or has no valid empty square to place a piece on. The opponent is granted additional moves at the start of a game based on the players score.

Each competitor has a distinct set of pieces of the same shape and color. The competitors take turns placing one piece on an empty square on the board. A piece or group of pieces that has no empty square adjacent to it is removed from the board.

Dream Print Tracking System 1.0.1

Dream Print Tracking System 1.0.1

Dream Print Tracking System is a powerful and user-friendly system for tracking print distribution and circulation. more>>
Dream Print Tracking System is a powerful and user-friendly system for tracking print distribution and circulation.
It uses many principles from customer relationship management (CRM) systems, but in a way specific to print publishers.
The Media Development Loan Fund commissioned Dream based on its experience in working with print publishers in more than 30 countries worldwide, where it provides support to independent media in the form of financing, training and technology.
In many of these countries, print distribution is one of the biggest difficulties independent publishers face because it is tightly controlled. Many countries have print distribution monopolies or cartels, which are either politically tied to the government, corrupt or incompetent.
Dream is a tool for tracking print circulation. In a similar way to customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Campwares Cream software, Dream allows you to maintain a clear picture of your distribution business based on regularly entered contracts, orders, and shipment information. This is handled primarily through Dreams Report functions. Dream is designed to look and feel like an email application. Its inbox is used for tracking inbound communications such as new customer e-mails and customer phone calls.
Because Dream works with any standard SMTP mail server, it also manages outbound customer communications and keeps records of your responses.
Dream does two things: It is a database that stores all the relevant information you supply about the publications you produce, who distributes, who sells it, and how you connect with these people.
It is also a tool for retrieving and presenting this information in several different ways. It contains utilities for tracking products, promotions, and communications.
Dream handles four types of information:
1. Information about what you produce and the people to whom you provide it. This information is entered on the Options tab of the screen and appears primarily in the menus on the Main tabs screens. One example is a product category in which you describe a periodical you produce.
2. Information about specific products such as books or individual issues of what you produce, specific distributors and specific sellers, and tracking of these items from contract to order to shipment to return.
3. Communications, including records of incoming messages from various sources, outgoing emails to individuals, and newsletters.
4. User information including usernames, passwords, preferences and permissions.
Enhancements:
- Minor bugfixes were made.
- A Russian localization was added.

Simple Document Management System 1.1.4

Simple Document Management System 1.1.4

Simple Document Management System is a document repository system. more>>
SDMS is an open-source system that allows you to store any document in a database via a bunch of webpages.

That was the short description, now comes the long one. SDMS uses PHP to provide you with a pretty interface to a MySQL server that allows you to store and retrieve documents and to share those documents between users.

In addition, the system uses ACL (Access Control Lists) to grant access rights to documents on a per-user basis.

So what is all this good for? Well, it for instance allows you to distribute project documentation on a need-to-know basis, whilst keeping a central repository of documents that is accessible to all team members and easy to manage.

CerbeRun 0.2.1

CerbeRun 0.2.1

CerbeRun is a software able to parse .run files, then to execute them. more>>
CerbeRun is a software able to parse .run files, then to execute them. CerbeRun is designed to make easier the use of Linux desktop computers for normal user, that is not forced to switch to root user in order to execute new applications. The main concept on which CerbeRun and the .run format are based is:

download
double-click
execution and enjoying

All is performed comfortably and with user grants only . Users from other systems are accustomed to download software and save it on supports, to be executed later or to be shared with friends. At present, it is not so easy (some times impossible) to save & distribute packages with .DEB or .RPM formats or other user-side formats (klik, 0install, packages), as in Mac or Windows systems.

CerbeRun and .run format, instead, merge the advantages of two above mentioned systems, because Windows .exe are single files to be executed, while Macintosh .app files can be installed and executed after a dragndrop, without a real installation step.

Geo::Coordinates::OSGB 1.07

Geo::Coordinates::OSGB 1.07

Geo::Coordinates::OSGB is a Perl module that can convert coordinates from Lat/Long to UK Grid. more>>
Geo::Coordinates::OSGB is a Perl module that can convert coordinates from Lat/Long to UK Grid.

A UK-specific implementation of co-ordinate conversion, following formulae from the Ordnance Survey of Great Britain (hence the name).

SYNOPSIS

use Geo::Coordinates::OSGB qw(ll2grid grid2ll);

# basic conversion routines
($easting,$northing) = ll2grid($lat,$lon);
($lat,$long) = grid2ll($easting,$northing);

# format full easting and northing into traditional formats
$trad_gr = format_grid_trad($easting,$northing); # TQ 234 098
$GPS_gr = format_grid_GPS($easting,$northing); # TQ 23451 09893
$landranger_gr = format_grid_landranger($easting, $northing) # 234098 on Sheet 176

# you can call these in list context to get the individual parts
# add "=~ s/s//g" to the result to remove the spaces

# and there are corresponding parse routines to convert from these formats to full e,n
($e,$n) = parse_trad_grid(TQ 234 098); # spaces optional, can give list as well
($e,$n) = parse_GPS_grid(TQ 23451 09893); # spaces optional, can give list as well
($e,$n) = parse_landranger_grid($sheet, $gre, $grn); # gre/grn must be 3 or 5 digits long
($e,$n) = parse_landranger_grid($sheet); # this gives you the SW corner of the sheet

# some convenience routines that bundle these up for you
map2ll();
map2grid();

# set parameters
set_ellipsoid(6377563.396,6356256.91); # not needed for UK use
set_projection(49, -2, 400000, -100000, 0.9996012717); # not needed for UK use

This module provides a collection of routines to convert between longitude & latitude and map grid references, using the formulae given in the British Ordnance Surveys excellent information leaflet, referenced below in "Theory".

The module is implemented purely in Perl, and should run on any Perl platform. In this description `OS means `the Ordnance Survey of Great Britain: the UK government agency that produces the standard maps of England, Wales, and Scotland. Any mention of `sheets or `maps refers to one or more of the 204 sheets in the 1:50,000 scale `Landranger series of OS maps.

Powerbox for Gtk 1.15

Powerbox for Gtk 1.15

Powerbox for Gtk is a patch to Gtk which replaces its GtkFileChooserDialog. more>>
Powerbox for Gtk is a patch to Gtk which replaces its GtkFileChooserDialog
Powerbox is a normal file chooser dialog box, except that it dynamically grants the application the right to access the file that the user picks.
This helps provide security because the application can be run without needing access to all the users files. Powerbox-for-Gtk patches Gtk to replace GtkFileChooserDialog with a powerbox.
It is based on Plash, which provides a restricted execution environment on Linux.
Enhancements:
- Add gtk-powerbox.c: an LD_PRELOADed patch to Gtk to replace the GtkFileChooserDialog interface so that it calls Plashs powerbox.
- Rename "plash" executable to "pola-shell".
- fs-operations.c: Add log method. Add an "end" log message when the fs_op object is dropped.
- gettextization
- make.sh: Add "-Wl,-z,relro" when linking ld.so. Fixes obscure problem when dlopen()ing libraries that might require an executable stack.
- Intercept getsockname() so that it returns the correct pathname for Unix domain sockets. Extended the g_fds array in libc so that it can contain these pathnames. It is now an array of "struct libc_fd"s, rather than an array of "cap_t"s. libc-fds.h: New file. libc-misc.c: Introduced fds_resize(), fds_slot_clear(). Changed open(), close(), dup2(), etc. libc-connect.c: Add getsockname() and change connect() and bind().
- Reason: I discovered that gconfd2 (or possibly Orbit) was relying on getsockname() returning the pathname that it earlier passed to bind(). This meant that Gnumeric was unable to spawn a gconf process itself, and it produced loads of errors.
- fs-operations.c, libc-misc.c: Fixed fstat() to return the correct information on directory FDs. Added the fsop_dir_fstat method to implement this.
- build-fs-dynamic.c: Implement link() and rename() methods. This is needed for when GNOME and KDE apps hard link files inside $HOME.
- filesysobj-real.c: Changes to allow rename and hard link calls of the form rename("dir/foo1", "dir/foo2") to work.
- The problem: The real_dir_rename and real_dir_link methods only work in the same-directory case; their test was a pointer comparison on real_dir objects. However, resolving a directory pathname like "dir" always returns a new real_dir object. This meant that the rename() call wouldnt work when you use full pathnames.
- This was causing some failures. eg. Konqueror wouldnt start: some code relied on creating "$HOME/.ICEauthority-l" as a hard link to "$HOME/.ICEauthority-c".
- The partial solution: Change the same-directory check to compare inode and device number of directory, after trying a pointer comparison.

Request Tracker 3.6.1

Request Tracker 3.6.1

Request Tracker is a web, command-line, and email-based trouble ticketing and bugtracking package. more>>
Request Tracker (RT) is an enterprise-grade ticketing system which enables a group of people to intelligently and efficiently manage tasks, issues, and requests submitted by a community of users.
The RT platform has been under development since 1996, and is used by systems administrators, customer support staffs, IT managers, developers and marketing departments at thousands of sites around the world.
Written in object-oriented Perl, RT is a high-level, portable, platform independent system that eases collaboration within organizations and makes it easy for them to take care of their customers.
RT manages key tasks such as the identification, prioritization, assignment, resolution and notification required by enterprise-critical applications including project management, help desk, NOC ticketing, CRM and software development.
RT is used by Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, educational institutions, and development organizations worldwide.
Main features:
- RT is your organizations focal point for tracking tasks, issues, knowledge, and collaboration.
- Its easy to submit, assign, prioritize, search, escalate, and report on issues.
- RT keeps track of each tickets full history and metadata to help your organization better retain knowledge and analyze trends.
- RT can track multiple projects for multiple teams within a single installation.
- RT tracks critical system metadata, including time spent per action, due dates, and estimated time to completion.
- Its easy to record private comments that are not available to end-users.
- RTs web interface comes complete with an intuitive "iterative" search interface that allows end users to construct complex queries by pointing and clicking within their web browsers.
- Users can save and edit queries later, using their browsers "bookmarks" feature.
- Users dont need to do anything special -- they can just send email to RT. RT will take care of thanking them for their message, automatically routing it to the appropriate staff, and making sure all future correspondence gets to the right place.
- RT provides a simple, self-service interface that allows end users to view their own active and resolved tickets online.
- RTs web interface is designed to be easy to use from any browser. Just working in Internet Explorer and Netscape isnt enough. Your staff need to be able to get work done anytime, anywhere.
- Whether you use Windows, MacOS or Unix, your staff already have everything they need to access RT.
- RT works great from a handheld or screen-reader (for the blind.) Best Practical is working with users to ensure that a future release is fully compliant with Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- A powerful new command-line interface that allows power users to quickly and easily work with RT, even if theyre out of the office is currently available for testing by the public.
- Youve got customers around the world. RT lets you interact with them in their own language. Internally, RT converts all data to UnicodeTM, so you can respond to users in their native tongue, but work in yours.
- Youve got staff around the globe. RTs web interface has been fully internationalized. Right now, RT speaks English, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Adding new languages is a breeze, if you need something RT doesnt support yet. On login, RT automatically detects which language each user prefers, so staff members can collaborate even if they speak different languages.
- Unlike costly proprietary issue tracking systems, an administrator can have a basic RT system up and running in an afternoon.
- RT is built to be useful right out of the box. You dont need expensive consultants
- Theres no client software to manage or keep up to date. Your existing web browser and email clients are all you need.
- RT is written in object-oriented perl. Not only do you get the complete source code to the product with every download, but your staff can begin customizing RT to meet your needs within hours.
- RTs web interface and mail gateway are built on top of the same API we publish for you to write your own tools on top of. The interface is documented and there are numerous third party tools to use as examples and templates.
- Every organization needs to track specialized data. RT lets you define list-based and freeform custom fields to help track your tickets. Once you create custom fields, its easy to search on them, just like RTs predefined fields.
- All of RTs mailing rules are based around a powerful custom business logic system called "Scrips." Scrips make it easy for a local administrator to make RT do ANYTHING whenever a ticket is created or updated, without making it hard to upgrade.
- RTs entire web interface is built on a flexible templating system that lets you build your own web-based tools or alter RTs look and feel to better fit your organization.
- If you dont want to radically change RTs interface, you can add your own components to RTs pages. A web callback system lets you drop miniature templates into RTs web pages.
- If you need even more power, "Code overlays" let you customize RTs internal behaviour without touching RTs core libraries.
Enhancements:
- This release includes numerous small cleanups and improvements.
- It fixes the dreaded "infinite relogin" bug.
