MUTE File Sharing is a peer-to-peer network that provides easy search-and-download functionality while also protecting your privacy.
It compiles as a fast, native application for many platforms (no Java, no Python, etc.).
MUTE protects your privacy by avoiding direct connections with your sharing partners in the network. Most other file sharing programs use direct connections to download or upload, making your identity available to spies from the RIAA and other unscrupulous organizations.
MUTE is based on research, and experiments show that it works quite well. MUTEs ant-inspired routing is light-weight, robust, and adaptive. Results from experiments in real MUTE networks show that the collective behavior of MUTE nodes quickly finds the shortest (or fastest) routing path between two nodes on the network.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes bugs in MUTEs initial connection to the network upon startup.
- MUTE has also been upgraded to Crypto++ 5.4, so it should now compile using GCC 4.1.

Top Downloads provides a script that counts how many times a file has been downloaded.

It keeps statistics of your downloads and can generate a TOP10 of your downloaded files. The administration function of this script allows you to delete, rename or change count numbers for your downloads.

It can check a directory that you specify for new files and add it to a database. Count numbers and TOP10 can be included into a HTML document.

Most web servers require SSI documents to have the extension .shtml or .shtm

Requirements
In order to run or build the Shezhu Resource Sharing System you need some third-party software available on your machine.
Client
The client needs a modern web browser and the best browsers for this application are Firefox, Mozilla (including the Netscape branded equivalent and Gecko derivatives such as Galeon) and Microsoft Internet Explorer. The newest versions of all these browsers will work best. This application also works with the Konqueror and Opera browsers but these have some issues which may affect functionality. All browsers need JavaScript enabled. Any of these browsers may not work properly (or at all) depending on the operating system they are running under. Text based browsers (such as Lynx) are not supported.

Server
The server needs recent versions of the Apache web server and the MySQL database server.
The server has only been tested on Redhat9 and FedoraCore3 Linux/i386 platforms although there is no specific reason why it should not work on other Linux platforms and distributions.
Development
Rebuilding this application from source requires a standard Unix development environment with the sh, make, cc, cpp, sed and awk utilities. Also required are RCS, Perl (5.6+) and the ImageMagick program. Also required is RPM to build a distribution. All these programs would probably come as standard in Linux distributions, other platforms may not have all of them by default.
Enhancements:

Retriever Download Manager program was written completely in the Java programming language and will run on any operating system with a Java Virtual Machine installed (JVM 1.4 or higher).
Retriever allows you to download files from the internet easier and with more control than from your web browser, with it you can resume interrupted downloads at any time thats convenient or even schedule downloads to occur when youre away from your computer. Even if one server is too busy to accomodate you Retriever will automatically switch to another to continue your download.
You can even temporarily pause your download and resume it instantly a few minutes later.
No matter how many times your download is interrupted or stopped Retriever gives you a successful download.

Downloads can be input manually into the program or captured from the clipboard.
You can also drag and drop links onto the download list to capture them. If a selection of text is dropped, it will be parsed for links, you can use this behaviour to add multiple files at once.

Gtk-Gnutella is a server/client for Gnutella. It runs on every Unix-like system which supports GTK+ (1.2 or above) and libxml. Gnome is not required.
It is currently developed and tested under Linux (Debian 2.2) and is known to run at least on Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Darwin, Solaris, Tru64 UNIX (OSF/1), SGI IRIX, BeOS whereas CPU architectures include x86, AMD64, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS.
gtk-gnutella project is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
Gtk-Gnutella is not finished yet, but it is fully functional: you may share, search, and download. And it is stable too, users usually just leave it run unattended for days.

Downloads in Tab is an extension which opens "Downloads" manager in tab from Tools menu.

To use tab, in Firefox Options dialog uncheck "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file"

To use window, in Firefox Options dialog check "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file"

To use neither, disable or remove this extension and in Firefox Options dialog uncheck "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file" which will restore original functioning.

Download Sentinel++ is an Anti-leech, download limiter / file manager, that uses tokens to verify downloads instead of HTTP_REFERER or IP which can be spoofed or changed.
The install is as painless as possible with only one file to upload and execute. The install automatically creates the sub-directories and files, all you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions for permissions.
Security has been the focus throughout development, even the install program is built on the latest recomendations for security. Logging is done with text files and can have errors and alerts sent via email or stored in a txt file.
Downloads can be limited to a certain transfer size per time frame, which can be further broken down into smaller intervals, all with only a couple settings. This helps spread out the limitation to different timezone and prevents all available bandwidth being used in a short period
