GNU Phantom.Security 1.00

GNU Phantom.Security 1.00

GNU Phantom.Security is a computer-controlled security system. more>>
GNU Phantom.Security is a computer-controlled security system.
Phantom is designed to be a completely customizable computer controlled security system. All source code (C++/Bourne script) is included. Phantom was designed & tested on a Linux system, but I assume the C++ portions can be easily ported to other Unix systems (even DOS/Windows, maybe?). The Phantom Security system is for use with intrusion/fire detection equipment such as motion sensors, door magnets, and smoke detectors. However, any Normally Open or Normally Closed device may work with little or no change to the code. All source code and diagrams included are free to use,for distributing, and to modify!
Phantom.Controller is to be used in a system with non-powered security devices, i.e. door magnets. Phantom.Controller2 is for systems with powered security devices, i.e. motion sensors & smoke detectors. Anyone with a basic knowledge of circuit design can mix and match from these two diagrams to mix powered & non-powered devices!
Enhancements:
- To compile & install Phantom.Security 1.00:
- configure
- make
- make install
- The default installation directory is /home/Phantom/security. However, this can be modified in the top-level Makefile.am (if this is changed, you need to re-run aclocal, autoconf, & automake). However, both the bindir and datadir should point to the SAME directory, or else Phantom.Security wont function correctly, because it wont be able
- to find the Phantom.conf file.
Enhancements:
- Version 1.0!!! GNU Phantom.Security is out of Beta! I have been running Phantom.Security for months straight on my machine at work and believe it is stable enough to promote it out
- of Beta!
- Created HTML & PostScript versions of documentation. Available on-line.

GNU Anubis 4.0

GNU Anubis 4.0

GNU Anubis is an SMTP message submission daemon. more>>
GNU Anubis is an SMTP message submission daemon. It represents an intermediate layer between mail user agent (MUA) and mail transport agent (MTA), receiving messages from the MUA, applying to them a set of predefined changes and finally inserting modified messages into an MTA routing network.

The set of changes applied to a message is configurable on a system-wide and per-user basis. The built-in configuration language used for defining sets of changes allows for considerable flexibility and is easily extensible.

GNU Thales 1.0

GNU Thales 1.0

GNU Thales provides an IRC-to-MySQL gateway. more>>
GNU Thales provides an IRC-to-MySQL gateway.
It connects to your IRC network as a server (like other services), and store everything it receives in a MySQL database.
It doesnt build stats itself, it just fills 5 MySQL tables called user, server, chan, ison and maxvalues.
You can then query the database with SQL queries to retrieve the information you need.
Enhancements:
- added a workaround for a possible unreal bug.
- using autoconf 2.59 instead of autoconf 2.13.
- no longer report usage if you are using Unreal.
- added support for unreal modules modes. see the UnrealModules file.
- added Memphisnet.orgs memphistools ! see examples/memphistools/.
- added secondary keys to ison table, which provided a 10% speed benefit.
- added unreals +T cmode.
- added unreals +D umode (needed for PrivDeaf module)
- added unreals +z umode. patch from nick martini
- nickinfo, an example from Andreas Lindemann !
- Recycled-counter, an example from ProPheT !
- server.linkedto is now an int (was a tinyint).

GNU mcron 1.0.3

GNU mcron (Mellors cron) is a 100% compatible replacement for Vixie cron. more>>
GNU mcron (Mellors cron) is a 100% compatible replacement for Vixie cron.

It is written in pure Guile, and allows configuration files to be written in scheme (as well as Vixies original format) for infinite flexibility in specifying when jobs should be run.

Mcron was written by Dale Mellor (see his personal web pages). Mcron was proposed to the FSF (2003-07-11) as a component of the GNU system, and accepted on 2003-12-02. Version 1.0.1 was the first release of mcron as a GNU package homed at gnu.org.

GNU TeXmacs 1.0.6.10

GNU TeXmacs 1.0.6.10

GNU TeXmacs is a free scientific text editor. more>>
GNU TeXmacs is a free scientific text editor, which was both inspired by TeX and GNU Emacs. The editor allows you to write structured documents via a wysiwyg (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) and user friendly interface.
New styles may be created by the user. GNU TeXmacs implements high-quality typesetting algorithms and TeX fonts, which help you to produce professionally looking documents.
The high typesetting quality still goes through for automatically generated formulas, which makes TeXmacs suitable as an interface for computer algebra systems. TeXmacs also supports the Guile/Scheme extension language, so that you may customize the interface and write your own extensions to the editor.
Converters exist for TeX/LaTeX and they are under development for Html/MathML/Xml. In the future, TeXmacs is planned to evolve towards a complete scientific office suite, with spreadsheet capacities, a technical drawing editor and a presentation mode.
Enhancements:
- The user interface for the graphical mode has been simplified and the Maxima interface has been updated.
- Further progress was made for the upcoming new GUI.

GNU Robots 1.0D

GNU Robots 1.0D

GNU Robots project is a robot construction game. more>>
GNU Robots project is a robot construction game.
GNU Robots is a game/diversion where you construct a program for a little robot, then watch him explore a world.
The world is filled with baddies that can hurt you, objects that you can bump into, and food that you can eat.
The goal of the game is to collect as many prizes as possible before you are killed by a baddie or you run out of energy.
GNU Robots is a game/diversion where you construct a program for a little robot, then watch him explore a world. The world is filled with baddies that can hurt you, objects that you can bump into, and food that you can eat. The goal of the game is to collect as many prizes as possible before are killed by a baddie or you run out of energy. GNU Robots (including source) will be released under the GNU General Public License.
The GNU Robots playing field is filled with food (increases energy), prizes (to increase your score), walls (which you can bump into), and baddies (which can inflict damage.)
To make the program easier to design and implement, I have decided to let the robot program be written in a text file, so that advanced programmers dont have to limit themselves to a visual programming interface. The language will be Scheme, which provides for flexibility in writing your programs. For non-programmers, there will also be a visual programming interface, which will generate Scheme code.
GNU Robots uses GNU Guile as the language back-end (Scheme). This will make the GNU Robots game engine more consistent with other GNU projects, as it will use the same extension language.
Enhancements:
- Added some extra documentation (but not much) and the early beginning of code clean-up.

GNU tar program provides the ability to create tar archives, as well as various other kinds of manipulation. more>>
GNU tar program provides the ability to create tar archives, as well as various other kinds of manipulation. For example, you can use Tar on previously created archives to extract files, to store additional files, or to update or list files which were already stored.

Initially, tar archives were used to store files conveniently on magnetic tape. The name "Tar" comes from this use; it stands for tape archiver. Despite the utilitys name, Tar can direct its output to available devices, files, or other programs (using pipes), it can even access remote devices or files (as archives).

GNU m4 1.4.10

GNU m4 1.4.10

GNU m4 is an implementation of the traditional Unix macro processor. more>>
GNU m4 is an implementation of the traditional Unix macro processor. GNU m4 is mostly SVR4 compatible although it has some extensions (for example, handling more than 9 positional parameters to macros).

GNU m4 also has built-in functions for including files, running shell commands, doing arithmetic, etc.

GNU m4 is a macro processor in the sense that it copies its input to the output expanding macros as it goes. Macros are either builtin or user-defined and can take any number of arguments.

Besides just doing macro expansion m4 has builtin functions for including named files, running UNIX commands, doing integer arithmetic, manipulating text in various ways, recursion etc... m4 can be used either as a front-end to a compiler or as a macro processor in its own right.
