Device::SNP 1.2

Device::SNP is a Perl extension for the GE Fanuc SNP-X serial protocol as used by GE Fanuc DataPanel data terminals. See http://www.gefanuc.com/en/ProductServices/VisPCSolutions/DataPanel/index.html

SYNOPSIS

use Device::SNP;

my $s = new Device::SNP::Slave(
Portname => /dev/ttyUSB0,
Debug => 0);
$s->run();
Amarok serial interface program: datapanel.pl [-h] [-d] [-p portdevice]
portdevice defaults to /dev/ttyUSB0

ABSTRACT

This Device::SNP module contains an implementation of the GE Fanuc SNP-X serial protocol as used by GE Fanuc DataPanel data terminals. See http://www.gefanuc.com/en/ProductServices/VisPCSolutions/DataPanel/index.html

DESCRIPTION

DataPanels are usually used with PLCs to monitor and control industrial equipment. They provide a programmable bitmap display, programmable function keys, and can poll and display data values and set data values in a remote PLC using the SNP-X serial protocol.

The Device::SNP::Slave object implements an SNP-X slave, opens a Device::Serial port and answers SNP-X requests to read and write data to a simulated PLC.
This package also contains a sample application that uses a DataPanel 160 to implement a remote control panel for the Amarok music player on Linux, allowing you to play, pause, next, prev tracks etc.

DataPanels are programmed with a GE application called DataDesigner, available from the GE web site for registered customers. Included in this package is a database for DataDesigner 5.2 for the Amarok remote control application. You will need DataDesigner 5.2 to download the datadesigner/linux.DTB database to the DataPanel 160

Tested on SuSE linux, but should run on pretty well any Linux or Unix.

Argante 1.1b

Argante 1.1b

Argante provides a secure, distributed, and fast VS machine. more>>
Argante provides a secure, distributed, and fast VS machine.

Argante is a fully operational, virtual environment for effective, secure, and accurate development of network appliances and other solutions (distributed routers, heterogenic, and self-adapting clusters).

Argante is a fully virtual environment for running applications on Unix
systems. This makes many people think about Java and its sandbox for example, although the technical reasons Argante is based on were totally different.

For one thing, Argante is a complete operating system. It has its own
implementation of processes, inter-process communication, filesystem,
access control... All built on the top of basic real OS low-level
implementation, but with own control mechanisms, own semantics and so on.
Why all this? I will try to explain:

The standard architecture of operating systems and hardware (e.g processors) falls flat when it comes to security and stability of the software.
To be short: it lacks low lewel support for general access control, error
handling (primitive techniques existing in, say, the 80386 series are not
enough), and the architecture of stack or data segment usage is based on
some mistaken assumptions.

issPolicy 1.01

issPolicy 1.01

The issPolicy utility allows ISS RealSecure Network Sensor and policy files to be converted into a single HTML file. more>>
issPolicy is a free open-source utility for converting an ISS RealSecure Network Sensor and ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policy to a static HTML file.
Written in Perl, issPolicy allows for granular parsing of ISS RSNS and ISS Proventia policies (also refer to the "support" section), and supports a wide variety of features (see "features" section) allowing the HTML generation to be customized based on different policy parameters.
Main features:
- issPolicy automatically detects whether the policy is a ISS RealSecure Network Sensor or ISS Proventia Inline Appliance policy and generates a static HTML file based on the policy type and its features.
- issPolicy extracts the following information from the ISS RealSecure Network Sensor Policy:
- Signatures Policy (Signature Name, Signature Description, Signature Status, Signature Priority, Configured Responses, Logging Type)
- IP Filters Policy (Filter Name, Filter Description, Filter Status, Protocol, Source Address, Source Port, Destination Address, Destination Port)
- Event Filters Policy (Filter Name, Filter Description, Filter Status, Filtered Event, Source Address, Source Port, Destination Address, Destination Port)
- issPolicy extracts the following information from the ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policy:
- Signatures Policy (Signature Name, Signature Description, Signature Status, Signature Priority, Configured Responses, Logging Type, Drop Options, DynamicBlock Options)
- IP Filters Policy (Filter Name, Filter Description, Filter Status, Protocol, Source Address, Source Port, Destination Address, Destination Port)
- Event Filters Policy (Filter Name, Filter Description, Filter Status, Filtered Event, Source Address, Source Port, Destination Address, Destination Port)
- issPolicy contains various useful options allowing for a tailored HTML Policy file to be generated, based on one or more of the following criteria:
- Signature Policy Criteria:
- Whether signature is enabled or disabled
- Based on signature priority (High, Medium, or Low)
- Whether drop is enabled [only on ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policies]
- Based on drop options (ConnectionWithReset, Connection, or Packet) [only on ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policies]
- Whether dynamicblock is enabled [only on ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policies]
- Based on dynamicblock options (IsolateTrojan, BlockWorm, BlockIntruder) [only on ISS Proventia Inline Appliance Policies]
- IP Filter Policy Criteria:
- Whether IP filter is enabled or disabled
- Event Filter Policy Criteria:
- Whether Event Filter is enabled or disabled
- issPolicy uses an "API" structured format, pushing the entire policy to hash arrays, allowing the possibility for other output methods to be developed (CSV, XML, etc...)

Sepp 0.6

Sepp 0.6

Sepp is a version of the classic sliding puzzle game in which the properly ordered tiles form a picture. more>>
Sepp is a version of the classic sliding puzzle game in which the properly ordered tiles form a picture.
Sepp, the Sliding Evil-Piece Puzzle, implements a computer version of the classic moving puzzle game, which has 15 sliding tiles in a 4-by-4 matrix and is also known as the 15 puzzle, in which the properly ordered tiles would form a picture.
Variants like Loyds would be unsuitable for this version of the game because a picture in which two contiguous tiles were swapped (and which, therefore, could not be recomposed) might annoy users and likely be perceived as a bug in the program; therefore, Sepp does not perform arbitrary tile swapping when scrambling the tiles, and the original image can always be obtained given enough tile pushes.
On the other hand, Sepp implements its own innovative kind of player aggravation: based on a user-configurable degree of evil, ranging from Not at all evil to beyond Very Evil, Sepp decides, during each animation frame, whether it will disturb a tile while the game is in progress. For better or worse, this feature, which can be disabled by setting the evilness to Not at all evil, sets Sepp apart from other, similar games.
Main features:
- Sepp allows the player to select the tile that will be used as the empty slot by simply clicking on it before scrambling the tiles; this setting is remembered by Sepp for as long as the players session stays in the puzzle in which the tile was chosen, and is dismissed when the user chooses a different picture or different grid geometry.
- Sepp keeps track of time spent by the player in solving the puzzle, but displays it only if and when the puzzle is solved; in this regard, Sepp implements the same behavior as the casual game Frozen Bubble and avoids distracting and terrorizing the user during gameplay.
- The terror that Sepp does cause its players comes in four levels, and can be set using an options menu that is available with a single click immediately after startup; in consideration of the elderly, the children, and small household appliances, "evilness" is disabled by default.
- The Sepp player can enjoy endless hours the aggravation using the input device of his choice, whether it be the keyboard or the mouse: except for empty slot selection, all operations can be performed with either; additionally, Sepp does not require dragging of the tiles but instead supports single-click action.
