AFU Knoppix 3.7
The AFU Knoppix CD contains software for the operating modes of PSK31, RTTY, SSTV, FAX, APRS and packet radio. more>>
The AFU Knoppix CD contains software for the operating modes of PSK31, RTTY, SSTV, FAX, APRS and packet radio. Additional applications for Sat tracking, logging, locator referencing and antenna computation are also included.
The idea for this CD came in April 2003 after a lecture by Klaus Knopper during the Ulmer Linux Expo.
The CD is targeted for radio enthusiasts, the Linux operating system and the applications on this CD are structured so that they can run from the CD without effecting the installed existing system software. *
Surely Linux for most radio amateurs may be an unfamiliar operating system. Most computer users however have no problems with the use of the programs or the KDE Desktops as it configures easy via the KDE menu - > KNOPPIX.

MiniKnoppix 2.0
MiniKnoppix is a all-in-one sysadmin rescue CD. more>>
MiniKnoppix is a all-in-one sysadmin rescue CD. MiniKnoppix is a Linux Live CD based on Knoppix.
Basically it is a complete and totally functional GNU/Linux operating system that boots and works from the CDROM. This way theres no need to install it on the hard drive.
Knoppix is (possibly) the best Linux Live CD nowadays. The original version fits in a 74 minutes (650MB) CDROM and carries more than 900 software packages ranging from office applications, development tools, multimedia players, games, different desktop environments and almost anything you can think of.
MiniKnoppix is born out of the necessity (some of us have) to carry a GNU/Linux operating system everywhere. Knoppix fits in a standard CDROM that you can carry in a rucksack, a suitcase, in your car,... But it is not so wearable for the daily use. MiniKnoppix takes up 200MB and can be toasted in a 8 cm. CDROM. So you can carry it in your wallet, which is its goal.
MiniKnoppix is JUST Knoppix WITHOUT a HUGE amount of software. To sum up, MiniKnoppix does not have games, development tools/libs, most of the multimedia players, office tools,... MiniKnoppix has only one graphical environment (KDE), its browser (konqueror), mail, web and news text based clients (mutt, slrn, links) and lots of tools for system administration (backup/restore, filesystem check/creation, security, network testing, and more!).

TINA KNOPPIX Live CD 2.0.0
TINA is an open source environment developed to accelerate the process of image analysis research. more>>
TINA is an open source environment developed to accelerate the process of image analysis research.
TINA provides functionality to assist in all areas of image analysis including handling of image, image feature and geometrical data; statistical and numerical analysis of data; GUI development as well as transmission and containment of data.
TINA also provides a range of high-level analysis techniques for both machine vision (3D object location, 2D object recognition, temporal-stereo depth estimation, etc) and medical image analysis (MR tissue segmentation, blood flow analysis, etc).
Now, thanks to the magic of KNOPPIX, you can experience TINA without installing any software. Simply place the CD into the CD drive of any PC and reboot.
Place the CD into the CD drive of any (reasonably modern) PC and reboot. The PC must be able to boot from the CD drive: if your own bootloader or windows starts up, reboot again and check your bios settings (you will probably be prompted to press DEL during startup). On the bios settings screen, check the boot devices: the first should be the floppy drive, the second the CD drive and the third the hard drive (possibly with a fourth option of booting from a network device). Check you motherboard manual for more details.
The KNOPPIX CD contains a live Linux distribution based on Debian, with a KDE 3 desktop. The TINA libraries are in /usr/local/TINA5, and some TINA demos are in /usr/local/Tina5/tina-tools/toolkits/knoppix_tookit (they can be accessedvia the desktop icons).

Accelerated KNOPPIX 1.0
Accelerated KNOPPIX is a fast-booting variant of the popular KNOPPIX live CD. more>>
Accelerated KNOPPIX is a fast-booting variant of the popular KNOPPIX live CD.
The mechanism of acceleration in the live CD
A cloop profiler is developed in order to grasp the access situation of CD.
Although various files are referred to in Live CD in the case of a system startup, since each position of media is dotted with the file, a lot of seeking will generate it at the time of reading. If the seek time of this CD is lost, it will be said that data can be transmitted at a stretch from CD. Then, the seek time of a pickup is reduced by rearranging the file read at the time of starting on a block level.
Live CD performs automatic recognition of the peripheral equipment of PC at the boot sequence.
Although the cache of the file required for starting of a desktop are predicted and carried out in the meantime, if there are few memories which can be used for cache, starting will become slow conversely. By this development, memory capacity is examining making it an effect show up at least because the predicted data carries out the cache of the compression image of cloop as it is.

HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX 4.0
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX is a pile-up KNOPPIX. more>>
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX is a "pile-up" KNOPPIX linux distribution. HTTP-FUSE KNOPPIX downloads pieces of Root Filesystem from a HTTP server when the piece is requested, although normal KNOPPIX requires whole 700MB ISO image at first. The piece is "piled up" on your PC.
The first minimum parts of HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX are bootloader with "Linux kernel" and "miniroot". The size is only 6MB. The rest of parts "ROOT file system" which size is 700MB is downloaded on demand as a small piece of block device.
The original block device which includes ROOT file system is split into small data-piece. Each small data-piece is compressed and saved to a file. The files are called "split-and-compressed block files". Split-and-compressed block files is downloaded when it is required. Split-and-compressed block files compose a virtual block device with HTTP-FUSE.
HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX selects ROOT file system at boot time. It means HTTP-FUSE-KNOPPIX doesnt make a CD-ROM for customization. It just upload the customized Root File system on HTTP server.
Furthermore the uploaded "split-and-compressed block files" for customized KNOPPIX are difference only. The most split-and-compressed blocks files are shared between original KNOPPIX and customized KNOPPIX. The feature makes small volume of a server when customized KNOPPIX is added.

Games::Go::Dg2Mp 4.026
Games::Go::Dg2Mp is a Perl extension to convert Games::Go::Diagrams to John Hobbys MetaPost. more>>
Games::Go::Dg2Mp is a Perl extension to convert Games::Go::Diagrams to John Hobbys MetaPost (which is adapted from Donald Knuths Metafont).
SYNOPSIS
use Games::Go::Dg2Mp
my $dg2mp = B convertDiagram($diagram);
A Games::Go::Dg2Mp object converts a Games::Go::Diagram object into a TeX (.tex) and a MetaPost (.mp) file. The MetaPost file contains figures for each of the diagrams and overstones required to make the complete game diagram.
Running MetaPost (mpost or possibly mp) on the .mp file creates a set of figure files, each of which is an Encapsulated PostScript figure. Running TeX (tex) on the .tex file creates a .dvi file which tries to include the Encapsulated PostScript figures. Running dvips on the .dvi file (from TeX) creates the final PostScript (.ps) file containing the complete game diagram.
See man mpost (or possibly man mp) for more details of the overall MetaPost system and environment.

KNOPPIX-NSM 1.2
knoppix-nsm is dedicated to providing a framework for individuals wanting to learn about Network Security Monitoring. more>>
KNOPPIX-NSM is dedicated to providing a framework for individuals wanting to learn about Network Security Monitoring.
We have tryed to do most of the hard work to help get the beginner/newbie up and running fast so they spend more time learning about NSM, leaving the details as a later exercise once familiar with the concepts.
KNOPPIX-NSM is based on the ever popular Knoppix, which means that you can test all the tools in a live session running on the cd without installing to harddrive. KNOPPIX-NSM has the added bonus of be able to install to harddisk so you can deploy a NSM framework into your production network and use it for realtime monitoring.
Some of the benefits include:
Rapid sensor deployment
You can boot you sensors from the live CD, store all data to a local HD partion and have them logging back to a central server.
Complete out of channel Intrusion Detection and Analysis center
With KNOPPIX-NSM you can deploy a complete NSM network to monitor your existing network infrastructure. KNOPPIX-NSM comes pre-configured for deployment of multiple sensors and databases, all you need to do is create the sensor accounts in the database and change some passwords.
Secure
KNOPPIX-NSM has been built with security in mind. All remote communications are over ssl tunnels so that you do not have to be concerned about eaves droppers if you decide to run KNOPPIX-NSM in your main network channels. Another feature is the use of iptables to ensure that only allowed hosts can connect and only necessary services are visible to the network.
Easy console deployment
Need another console, just boot from the cd (setting the host and ip at boot time) and you are up and running straight away.
The intent of KNOPPIX-NSM is to provide a distrubtion with accompanying documentation on the tools that we have selected and how they are put together in the NSM framework.
Main features:
- all remote management over ssl/ssh,
- all tools installed, patched and ready to run,
- automated scripts for easy installation/modification,
- support for bonded network interfaces,
- based on knoppix Live CD,
- debian based when installed to harddrive,
- ease of maintenance through apt-get,

Games::Go::Dg2TkPs is a Perl extension to convert Games::Go::Diagrams to Postscript. more>>
Games::Go::Dg2TkPs is a Perl extension to convert Games::Go::Diagrams to Postscript.
SYNOPSIS
use Games::Go::Dg2TkPs
my $dg2ps = B convertDiagram($diagram);
This is a real hack to get PostScript output from the Dg2Tk converter. All it does is use the built-in PostScript that a Tk::Canvas widget provides to convert the Dg2Tk canvas pages to PostScript. The resulting PostScript is fairly crude because the Canvas that it is drawn from is crude to begin with. See Games::Go::Dg2Ps for a better PostScript converter.
A Games::Go::Dg2TkPs inherits from Games::Go::Dg2Tk, and uses all its methods and options. The main difference is that after conversion to Tk is complete, each diagram Tk::Canvas is converted to PostScript via the Tk::Canvas->postscript method. Some minor massaging of the PostScript source is done to string the canvas pages together.
