dxgallery is a static HTML image gallery generator which uses dynamic columns and fixed pixel image scaling. It also tries to look pretty.
I created dxgallery because it is the only one I know of that:
- Uses a dynamic number of columns.
- Uses consistent pixel count scaling.
- Is the prettiest.
It also uses entirely static html which can be generated on a different machine from the one which serves it.
And it conforms to XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
Enhancements:
- Fixed unsightly wrapping.

MkGallery 1.1
MkGallery allows you to create your own gallery for the Internet with HTML 4.0 and CSS support. more>>
MkGallery allows you to create your own gallery for the Internet with HTML 4.0 and CSS support.
MkGallery generates an image gallery with thumbnails for the Internet. All pages are HTML 4.0 and CSS compatible.
How it works: Enter in a folder with jpg files and choose a name for the gallery. You can also specify other option in the command line. See the help (mkgallery -h) for more information.
What we need: Basicly we need ImageMagic packages (convert and identify). The other utilities are essential in any Unix system.
Features: The script is divided in many functions to help we change anything without breaking other functions. In the files start_html and end_html we can put html code to be inserted in the top and bottom respectively. All pages are HTML 4.0 checked with the validadtor in the W3C website. With the CSS file is possible to change any color, font, style without changing all HTML pages. Also you can specify only one css file for all your pages. Comments can be added for any image.

ffGallery 0.5
ffGallery is a customizable, simple, web photo gallery written with PHP and javascript. more>>
ffGallery is a customizable, simple, web photo gallery written with PHP and javascript.
ffGallery uses the SAJAX toolkit and CSS to present the user with a flashy interface.
Tested and works in the following browsers:
- Firefox 1.0.4
- IE 6
- Safari 1.2
Not tested, but should work in the following browsers:
- Konqueror
- Netscape
- Camino
Tested, but needs some work in Opera.
I decided to write this software after seeing many people using Flash for their galleries in an attempt to make them look cool. In general they accomplished their goals, but at the price of being Flashy with long load times, browser incompatibilities, the need for a plug-in, and general dislike from some of their intended audience. What Im trying to do with ffGallery is have a Flash like user experience, without the Flash overhead, hence a flash free Gallery.
To accomplish this I use Cascading Style Sheets for the presentation, Javascript for user interaction, PHP for server operations, and the SAJAX Toolkit to link Javascript with PHP and display only the needed information. In the end ffGallery acts more like Google Maps than a Flash gallery, but it loads faster, is compatible with most modern browsers, no plug-ins are needed, and people wont hate it because its Flash.
Enhancements:
- add a global variable so we can choose if we want realsize image to be resized
- I add the real size fonction like lightbox does
- it use cross-browser(x) function from Michael Foster (http://cross-browser.com)
- it doesnt work for the admin section (too lazy for that)
- missing: a loading imagea choice to have real size or, as i do it, resize bigger image to fit the screen

Gallery Mage 2.5.0
Gallery Mage project is a Digital Photography Film Management. more>>
Gallery Mage project is a Digital Photography Film Management.
Tank Software has developed several cross platform (Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris and Windows) tools to assist you in organising your digital photos and galleries.
Catering for the onset of digital cameras en mass, Tank Software has developed a complete Gallery Management tool with them in mind.
Digital cameras are often capable of taking high resolution photographs which are much larger than necessary to display on the internet, but it is better not to alter the original JPEG images as the quality is reduced on every operation such as resize or rotate and can be evident when a real print is made.
Gallery Mage allows one to resize, rotate and crop their images, while still preserving the digital originals. These operations instead of being performed on the originals are stored as textual data, and performed on copies of the images when exporting (e.g. as low resolutions images destined for the web and email, or high resolution images destined for printing).
Gallery Mage supports many different gallery display options including:
- SPGM
- Coppermine
- Singapore
- plain HTML
- pictures only (for emailing)
Now that no dependancies exist on your gallery displaying software, you can be confident that as your albums needs evolve, your picture galleries will evolve effortlessly with them.

Animated Gallery 1.2
Animated Gallery is a GIMP plugin that creates an animated gallery by overlaying multiple animations. more>>
Animated Gallery is a GIMP plugin that creates an animated gallery by overlaying multiple animations frame-by-frame onto the current image background and saving the resulting combined images.
Written using python-fu and gimp 2.2.3
The purpose of the plug-in is to create an animated gallery (e.g for a DVD menu) by overlaying up to 5 animations frame-by-frame onto the current image background and then flattening and saving the combined frames.
The script takes parameters giving the filenames of the first frame of each source animation (or "OFF" to disable a feed). The frames themselves should be sequentially numbered (e.g. frame_000123.jpg). It should work with all image types the gimp can load (tested with .jpg and .ppm). Note that if a frame is missing in an animation, the previous one is repeated.
I have included an option for rounding the corners of the source frames (using the script-fu rounded rectangle function). If you want other similar functionality (e.g. fade to black at sequence end) I would recommend you to have a look at the source code - python is very easy to learn, and the script is fairly well documented.
Usage:
In order to make a DVD menu with animated chapter images, you would normally merge a number of short animated frame sequences(one per chapter), shrunk down to say 80 pixels high, onto a 720x576 background image (for 4:3 PAL). Obviously you should create all the static parts of the menu (text, drop shadows, button outlines etc) on the background image prior to calling the script. A suitable example background template is provided on the gimp plug-ins registry page for the project.
In order to create an actual DVD menu, you will of course need to use an authoring tool such as the excellent and highly flexible dvdauthor package (make sure you use at least version 0.6.11 however, as previous ones have a problem with spumux not correctly recognising transparent bitmaps). There is a very good HowTo at http://mightylegends.zapto.org/dvd/dvdauthor_howto.php
Installation:
Download the script to the .gimp-2.2/plug-ins/ directory (or equivalent) under your home directory; make it executable (chmod +x animated_gallery.py) and restart the gimp. It should appear as an option under the python-fu -> alchemy menu.

GTK Photo Gallery 0.51
GTK Photo Gallery is an album to manage small and medium-sized photograph collections. more>>
GTK Photo Gallery is an album to manage small and medium-sized photograph collections. It is possible to upload images to an online laboratory.
It allows quick management by processing multiple files together. Rotate, delete, move, and manage descriptions can be done for all files in one directory at once.
GTK Photo Gallery is implemented with GTK2-Perl, and due to the lack of a Web server in between, it is much faster than CGI-based scripts. It uses the same directory structure as (and can be used together with) My Photo Gallery (a set of CGI scripts).
It is possible to export (and import) an album in 0.7, 4.7 or 8.5 GB parts for easy CD/DVD backup.
Each part contains a html index as overview and for navigation. User can choose the thumnail sizes to export.
This can be used to create a simple static web album.
Enhancements:
- Automatic configuration is done on startup if theres no configuration file.

<<lessIt allows quick management by processing multiple files together.
- Speed enhancements on applying changes to albums and bugfixes were done.

Gallery Uploader is a Python script that can upload pictures to Web Gallery (only versions 2.0 or above).
Gallery Uploader supports multiple galleries. To do it so, you need to save URL, User and Password using the –save option, passing a name to the gallery. You can point to this gallery using the -G option. If there is only one gallery in the configuration, you won’t need the -G option, as GUP will automagically use that gallery.
Creating Albums
To create an album, you need the -c option. This option takes three parameters:
Parent album id: the id of the album where the new album will be created. There is an special album with id “0″, which is the root of all albums, but it is NOT the album you see when you open Web Gallery in the browser. To find this “first album”, you can use the –show-child=0 option;
Album name: it’s the name your gallery will have. In the web interface, it is the first field asked when creating an album. Internally, it is the directory name in the server where the pictures will be stored (so, invalid file names will cause GUP to fail);
Album title: it’s the visible part of the album, displayed on the page.
Also, note that there is three parameters and that space is used to split them. So, if you want to add spaces to your album name or album title, you need to enclose it by quotes, like -c 7 my_first_album “My First Album” (this will create an album named “My First Album”, stored as “my_first_album” in the server, under the album with the id “7″).
Uploading Images
To upload images, you need to create an album (using something like the above example) or using the -a option, passing the album id. Also, if you don’t need the picture in your computer after uploading, you can use the –delete option.
