YASP project is a lightweight network protocol for micro controllers.
YASP is a simple and open protocol for building networks with small microcontrollers. It is designed to have a small footprint for easy implementation with minimal hardware resources, but without sacrifice advanced features and future growth.
The protocol scalability is implemented using variable length fields.
The physical layer use the NRZ encoding as in RS-232, but using dominant and recessive bus states to provide a reliable way to detect collisions.
Main features:
- Node adresses: 1 to n bytes
- Medium access: CDMA/CS/NDA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection / Non-Destructive Arbitration)
- Addressing modes: unicast, broadcast and multicast
- Smallest frame: 6 bytes
- Error detection: CRC16
- Bus signaling: 1-wire "open collector" or 2-wire diferential (CAN transceiver)
- Current PIC implementation: about 480 words of code and 25 bytes of RAM (interrupt driven)

DMDirc project is a new cross platform IRC client written in java

DMDirc was started to address the lack of a good IRC client for Linux, it can however be run on any java capable platform, including OSX and window. While there are plenty of reasonable clients, most are lacking in one respect or another. We hope that DMDirc will fill this gap.

We are accepting feature requests and bug reports to our issue tracker at Google Code.

Agnix project is an embedded real-time network operating system kernel.
It is a small, educational operating system kernel for i386, supporting 32-bit protected memory mode, paging, hardware switched tasks, memory tests, PCI bus, devices, PCI IRQ routing, RT timers, network protocols.
It is available with all the source code and is fully compatible with the Linux kernel API.

Gnetload is a GNOME applet displaying the network load in a histogram. Gnetload is free software licensed under the GNU GPL.

As its name implies, alloywm is a quite exquisite, aesthetic little window manager for X11. The premise of this window manager is not to be over-bloated like better known window managers such as KDE, and to keep the interface out of a users way. Also, alloywm maintains to be small, fast, and have a really small memory footprint.

I first decided to adopt this window manager as a testbed for programming in C for X11, because I was mainly a non-graphical programmer for a long time. It is not very configurable, thusly you would have to edit the sourcecode to add any functionality, to bend it to your likings.

The window manager feels like a Macintosh GUI interface, except that you cannot click inside the window to give focus (that will change, soon.) A new window is drawn wherever the mouse happens to be. So, in other words, if I run an rxvt, and the mouse is in the centre, then the top-left hand corner of the window is in the centre.
