Sirius 0.8.0

Sirius 0.8.0

Sirius is a program for playing the game of othello. more>>
Sirius is a program for playing the game of othello. The program includes an AI (Artificial Intelligence) opponent which plays at a very challenging level and is actually quite hard to beat. The AI opponents strength can therefore be adjusted in several ways to give you a suitable opponent.
The AI opponent uses a plain alpha-beta search with hashing to figure out which move to make. To be able to tell a god position from a bad one, it uses a pattern based evaluation function.
The pattern used is the 9 discs surrounding each corner and the 8 discs creating the edge of the board. The evaluation function also takes mobility, potential mobility and parity into count. For the initial 9 moves the AI opponent optionally uses a simple opening book.
During midgame it searches and evaluates about 200.000 nodes per second on a PIII 750 MHz, in the endgame this number is significantly higher due to more transpositions and a less expensive evaluation function.
Enhancements:
- Russian translation. (Alexandre Prokoudine)
- Fixed problem with non-latin UTF-8 characters. (Vyacheslav Sdiconov)
- Trippled the size of the opening book.
- Made the hints unsensitive at startup.
- Man page for Debian.

DFBTerm 0.8.0

DFBTerm 0.8.0

DFBTerm project is a terminal application for DirectFB. more>>
DFBTerm project is a terminal application for DirectFB.
It uses LiTE (LiTE is a Toolkit Engine) and has a very nice anti aliased fixed width font.
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system. If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute `configure itself.
Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean. There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.
Enhancements:
- Fixed fusion_object_destroy() for calls outside the object destructor.

LeagueSite 0.8.0

LeagueSite 0.8.0

LeagueSite is a PHPWebSite module that adds roster, stats, and schedule information. more>>
LeagueSite is a PHPWebSite module that adds roster, stats, and schedule information for a sports league or team onto the PHPWS base. This software can be used to create a Web site for fans to learn more about the league and its teams and players.
Ive been sitting on this one for a while because sourceforge appears to have stopped developer access to CVS from the shell server. I was just using the cvsrelease script written by Don (rizzo) to do releases, and that script requires developer (writeable) access to cvs. Add to that I am pretty much a windows only guy (boo hiss) and it put something of a spanner in the works! Anyways, thanks to Knoppix I now have a useable linux at home so I can now run the script from here.
Enhancements:
- Bug Fixes
- Fixes to html errors in the schedule list view
- Fixing bug where the umpire couldnt be set back to [TBA] after a specific umpire was selected
- Fixing bug where editing a game would default PM games to AM
- New Features
- RFE [ 1110936 ] Link to schedule - shows the Next and Previous n Games for the team on each Teams page, along with a link to the full schedules for that season.
- Adding the ability to mark games as postponed.
- Use cookies to select the default schedule and standings views for returning visitors
- Showing the Umpire on the Games blocks
- Added a This Weeks Games block
- Patch [ 1192665 ] Add Edit Link to Venue - thanks to jbalcorn for this one.

SMB for FUSE 0.8.4

SMB for FUSE 0.8.4

SMB for FUSE is a tool for mounting the network neighbourhood. more>>
With SMB for Fuse you can seamlessly browse your network neighbourhood as were it on your own filesystem.
Instead of mounting one Samba share at a time, you mount all workgroups, hosts and shares at once. Only when youre accessing a share a connection is made.
Main features:
- Browsing workgroups/hosts and shares from any application
- Streaming of files (movies/music)
- Browsing the network is fast because all hosts and shares are cached
Other solutions as GnomeVFS or KIO slaves provide a similar solution, but have a few disadvantages:
- Programs need to be rewritten to make them network transparent.
- KIO Slaves cannot stream files making movie/music playing over LAN impossible.
- Gnome VFS just is unstable on my system, although is offers streaming.
- Automounting shares is possible, but you cannot see more than 8 at a time, because NT Workstation limits the number of connections its also a lot slower.

SPWrapper 0.8.0

SPWrapper 0.8.0

SPWrapper analyzes Oracle database system tables. more>>
SPWrapper project analyzes Oracle database system tables, finds out parameter names and types, and writes the Java code necessary for calling stored procedures.
Do you ever needed to use stored procedures from java code? Perhaps you had to write first the stored procedure, then you had to write that boring java code with all those register parameters and getInt/getString etc.
Then perhaps you needed to change some parameters and had to check and correct the java code. And what about double checking that the connection was closed and the exception catched in the right way?
I had to do it a lot of times... then I realized that once you have written and compiled the stored procedure in you database all the needed information about parameters is available. A program could read this information and write for me the needed java code.
SPWrapper is the result of this idea. Currently it works with the Oracle database, but in the future I plan support other databases.
Enhancements:
- Now SPWrapper is able to create stored procedure wrappers also for SqlServer, Mysql and Postgresql
