edictionary is a nifty little application which you can use as your dictionary. It will fit quite well into your command line intensive job and its faster than your browser too!
edictionary can be used to view the meaning of English words. It can also provide related details like etymology, function, pronunciation etc. Adding support for other languages is not included, but is easy.
It can grab the meaning of any word from the convenience of the command line. You can ask for meanings of multiple words at once. You can call edictionary from within your scripts.
edictionary is as platform independent as Perl, because, you guessed it, it is written in Perl. Thus, all you need is Perl installed on your machine, and of course, edictionary. FYI, Perl is a platform independent language.
Interpreters are available for Linux, UNIX, Windows and many other platforms, easily. If you are running Linux or UNIX, chances are that you already have Perl installed on your machine.

Virtual Tomcat project is a set of scripts designed to ease administration tasks involved with hosting multiple JVM instances and domains using Apache Tomcat and HTTPd.

The system (which uses jsvc to spawn instances) allows users to deploy their own applets from within their home directories, as well as allowing full access to /manager and /admin applets.

The RPM Package Manager also know as RPM is a powerful command line driven package management system capable of installing, uninstalling, verifying, querying, and updating computer software packages.
Each software package consists of an archive of files along with information about the package like its version, a description, and the like. There is also a related API ("Application Program Interface"), permitting advanced developers to bypass shelling out to a command line, and to manage such transactions from within a native coding language.
RPM is commonly found in the Linux computer operating system environment, but has been extended far beyond those initial confines.
A subset of the full RPM package feature-set is the baseline standard packaging format specified by the Linux Standard Base (which has as some of its goals to: "increase compatibility among Linux distributions and enable software applications to run on any compliant Linux system.")

rep-XMMS is a rep module allowing you to remotely control XMMS.

Rep XMMS provides access to the XMMS remote control interface from within the rep interpreter. In addition a modules is provided to give access to the XMMS commands from within the sawfish window manager.

Usage:

Once you have installed the plugin, you can (require xmms.remote) from within a rep session which gives you access to the module. More usefully you can put (require xmms.command) in ~/.sawfishrc (or ~/.sawfish/rc if you prefer) and then configure your key-bindings from within the sawfish UI.

XChat2 plugin helps you to use BMPx from within XChat, including remote control, add files to playlist from file or library, select bookmarked audio stream and having XChat interact with your IRC channel (displaying current track played) with a customizable look.

Usage:

You need to have Python plugin loaded first and then load bmp-xchat-plugin.py file. To autoload the plugin at startup, just copy it to your ~/.xchat2 directory. Then run /bmp help in xchat to have the list of supported commands.

RJCE allows all methods or variables of user defined classes to be altered at runtime. These alterations are then applied to a single instance, a collection of instances (i.e. list, set or map), or an entire class.

This helps you to test your application in an interactive way; altering running programs helping a trial and error approach to programming; testing code and saving it when it’s correct. Long running algorithms, such as simulations, can also easily be refined without the need for restarts or lose of data.

RJCE can be used to write a program from within itself ensuring high coupling between testing and development, with no delay before the outcome of any alterations.

RJCE allows scripts to run from within your application, allowing users to configure or extend an application dynamically, bypassing normal language access rules controlled by public, private and protected. This can be done by easily instatiating an instance of CodeEditorFrame from the rom.gui package.

RJCE permits faster development of applications by allowing easy migration from scripts to Java programs.

IsForth is a direct threaded Linux-only x86 Forth implementation coded in pure assembly using NASM macros to create forth high-level definitions.
All I/O is done with syscalls. IsForth is almost a complete replacement for both libc and libncurses.
To use the debugger say debug xyzzy and from within the debugger..

Cursor - move cursor within current definition
h - run to cursor location
H - auto step to current location
While auto stepping + and - change the step speed
