KTouch is a program for learning how to touch-type. KTouch is FREE software and offers you an easy way to learn to type on a keyboard quickly and correctly. Every finger has its place on the keyboard with associated keys to press.
Starting with only a few keys to remember you will advance through the levels of the training lecture while more and more keys are introduced. And finally you will be able to type very fast and accurate, because you no longer need to search for the keys on the keyboard (and because you will definitely use more then just two fingers).
KTouch shows the keys you need to press and the finger you need to use for that key on the screen. You neednt to look down on the keyboard to search the key. Therefore you will get used to looking at the screen only and thus you will learn touch typing much faster.

In trying to help a linux user group member compile ktouch 1.6.0
standalone version, I encountered a few errors.
o Only version 2.5 of autoconf was acceptable, 2.6 not allowed
o autoconf was checked for in --version output of the autoheader check
o ktouch/keyboards/Makefile.am had a trailing slash but no new line
Some minor changes all resulted in a successful `make -f Makefile.cvs`
Ive attached these changes in the patch attached and in a modified tar.gz.
I also noted that there are some .svn directories in the release. You
probably already know but, svn export will help you with that.

gdvrecv is a set of tools for FreeBSD to receives audio and video data from a digital camcorder via an IEEE 1394 (widely known as FireWire) link and stores them into an DV file.
This software package is composed by :
- firewire, a Python module for the FreeBSD firewire sub system
- dvrecv, a command line tool to receive a DV stream
- gdvrecv, a Gtk tool to receive a DV stream
- Basicaly, gdvrecv does the same thing as the fwcontrol -R command, but is more user-friendly.
- You can use Kino (FreeBSD port: multimedia/kino) for editing the DV files recorded with gdvrecv.
- Note : gdvrecv is written for FreeBSD 5.3 or better. Other operating systems or FreeBSD versions are not supported (but youre welcome to send me patch for other operating systems).

SNARE (System iNtrusion Analysis and Reporting Environment) is a kernel patch, daemon, and Gnome2 GUI, that together provide a host intrusion detection facility and C2-style auditing/event logging capability for Linux similar to the Basic Security Module (BSM) for Solaris, or the Windows Event Log.

The Kernel changes
In order to collect event log data, Snare needs to add auditing support into the operating system. You can choose to either install a binary version of the kernel, with Snare already integrated, or you can apply a patch to your kernel source.
Although we try hard to make Snare as easy to install as possible, there are hundreds of different distributions and kernel versions, and it would be an immense task to build Snare for each variant. We are hoping that recent efforts towards creating a native auditing subsystem for linux will soon mean that the kernel component of the Snare for Linux agent, will no longer be required.
The Snare Audit Daemon
The Snare audit daemon acts as an interface between the Linux kernel, and the security administrator. It allow you to turn on events, filter the output, and potentially push audit log information back to a central location for collection, analysis and archival.
The Snare Micro-Web Server, and Audit GUI
The Snare audit GUI provides a graphical user interface to the Snare audit daemon. It allows you to add, remove or modify audit objectives, and change reporting options.
