Fox Hunt 0.4

Fox Hunt 0.4

Fox Hunt is a logic game written in Java. more>>
Fox Hunt project is a logic game written in Java.

It was inspired by the sports competition of the same name. In that competition, participants run in the forest equipped with small radio locators, seeking small hidden radio wave emitters called "foxes".

In Fox Hunt you are one of such participants armed with advanced locator which can scan full horizontal, vertical, and both diagonal directions and report the number of foxes "visible" at all these directions.

Whats New in This Release:

This release features minor design changes and two helper options (both options will cost the player a half of his/her score): "Autodecrement fox scanners" turns off every fox found, so on the opened locations player will always see the number of active foxes only. "Automark empty locations" marks locations without foxes after every turn (according to currently opened locations).

Neohunt 0.1

Neohunt 0.1

Neohunt is an old multi-player shoot-em-up game. more>>
Neohunt project is an old multi-player shoot-em-up game.

Neohunt is a multi-player search-and-destroy game that takes place in a maze. The object is to shoot your friends before they shoot you, while avoiding being blown up by land mines and your own ammunition and running away from the occasional
stream of lava.

Neohunt is an enhanced version of hunt, one of the user-contributed games from the 4BSD distribution. You may still find versions of it
around here and there.

The original neohunt (not to be confused with the original hunt) was developed on a VAX 11/785 running 4.3BSD in 1989.

The version you see here is a slightly ANSIfied version of the K&R source, hacked up
just enough to run under FreeBSD 4.2. Nonetheless, it serves as a fine example of what a lot of software packages looked like in the 1980s.

Neohunt is not to be taken seriously. It is currently considered abandonware.

TnFOX 0.87

TnFOX 0.87

TnFOX is a fully featured C++ and Python toolkit library. more>>
TnFOX is a modern secure, robust, multithreaded, exception aware, internationalisable, portable GUI toolkit library designed for mission-critical work in C++ and Python forked from the FOX library.
This project replicates the Qt API in many places and has been designed primarily for Tn, the port of Tornado to FOX.
Main features:
- Portable to X11/POSIX (Linux, BSD) and Microsoft Windows
- License based on the Library GNU Public License (LGPL) so can be used by closed-source applications
- Dynamic run-time binding of widgets to each other and to data via messaging
- Wide range of easily extendable (via subclassing) widgets
- Fast and Lightweight, noticeably faster than other C++ GUI toolkits
- Also provides OpenGL, drag & drop, anti-aliased fonts, MIME, graphics & compression support
Enhancements:
- FOX v1.4.35 and FOX v1.6.28 merged.
- 2D and 3D graphing support of arbitrary datasets rendered using OpenGL along with official Visualisation Toolkit (VTK) support.
- Modular building support. You can now build separate no-GUI, SQL database and Graphing sublibraries. You can also toggle whether large proportions of FOX and TnFOX are compiled into your library or not, making for a very slimline standalone executables if you so choose.
- Added child process device i/o class QChildProcess. You can now redirect i/o and manage child processes on all supported platforms.
- An automated test suite now can perform full regression testing on all supported platforms. It stores its results inside a SQLite3 database and can output the database in HTML format (as you can see on the TnFOX website).
- TnFOX is now completely portable to any architecture (not just Intel based ones).
- Fixed stack backtracing on exception throw for Windows (which had become broken thanks to Microsoft) and added support for stack backtracing on Linux via glibc.
- Even more performance increases. Tn now runs on Linux slightly faster than Windows!
- Lots of bugs (some major) fixed.
- New platforms now officially supported: Apple Mac OS X (using Apples X11 server), CoLinux and Microsoft Windows Vista. TnFOX is fully & officially supported on all 32 bit and 64 bit platforms.

Letter Hunt 002

Letter Hunt 002

Leter Hunt is a Seven Day Roguelike game. more>>
Leter Hunt is a Seven Day Roguelike game. The original idea came from a discussion at the end of the 2005 7DRL challenge with Antoine, the author of Guild.
Main features:
- Spell words by capturing your foes in the correct order to earn points and powerups.
- Fifty-two letters to capture, many with their own personalities or unique abilities.
- Power-up based character advancement. Rather than gaining experience or levels, you just gain powerups that can wear off. Advancement is not permament.
- Open-ended game - there is no final boss or win condition. Your goal is to get as many points as possible before attrition or increasingly difficult enemies take you down.
- Extremely tactical combat. There is no randomness in combat. You always hit and always do full damage. This means that careful placement is the difference between success and failure.
- Turn based action, as is normal for a roguelike.
- User editable wordlist: The list of valid words is a plain text file that can be added to or replaced. Creature frequency is calculated from letter frequency in the wordlist file.
Enhancements:
- Various niggly bugs fixed, including the crash on walk.

Job Hunter 2005363215841

Job Hunter 2005363215841

Job Hunter is a software that can track job opportunities in your hunt for contracts or employment. more>>
Job Hunter is a software that can track job opportunities in your hunt for contracts or employment. Documentation is included in OpenOffice/NeoOffice and PDF formats.
As I went around looking for a job (I am a software contractor so I am always looking for a job) I found myself writing leads down on peices of paper... which soon graduated to worksheets when I got sick of disorganization... which then graduated to this application when I noticed my notes were scribbled all over the page.
I realized this is kind of a leads manager for the job searcher like those for the sales professional. After all, you are trying to sell your skills to some buyer right?
You will need PostgreSQL and PHP 4.3.11+ or PHP 5 to properly install the program. (PHP 5 will be the new standard.) You will need a PDF reader or OpenOffice.org/NeoOffice 1.0 + to read the documentation. I have successfully run the software on a Linux machine and Apple OS X (I actually run it on my powerbook so it goes with me.)
If you dont want to go through the motions of getting this running on your own machines, you can register an instance for yourself on this site and use it freely.
Enhancements:
- maintnote.php was fixed and tested for use with PHP 5.

Soothsayer 0.4

Soothsayer 0.4

Soothsayer is an intelligent predictive text entry platform. more>>
Soothsayer is an intelligent predictive text entry platform. Soothsayer exploits redundant information embedded in natural languages to generate predictions. Soothsayers modular and pluggable architecture allows its language model to be extended and customized to utilize statistical, syntactic, and semantic information sources.
A predictive text entry system attempts to improve ease and speed of textual input. Word prediction consists in computing which word tokens or word completions are most likely to be entered next. The system analyses the text already entered and combines the information thus extracted with other information sources to calculate a set of most probable tokens.
The set of most probable tokens, a list of suggestions, is displayed to the user. If the token the user intended to enter is in the list, the user selects it and it is automatically entered by the system. If the list of suggestions does not contain the desired word, the user continues entering text until the correct suggestion is offered or until the user is done entering text.
Soothsayer is fundamentally different from predictive input technologies commonly found on mobile phones, which might more accurately be described as disambiguating text entry rather than predictive text entry systems.
Such systems do not try to guess what the user intends to write in the future, only to determine what they most-likely intend to write in the present, given their past input.
Soothsayer, on the other hand, actively predicts the what the user intends to write, and only reverts to word completion mode if the prediction did not contain the desired token.
Soothsayer is free software and its distributed under the term of the General Public License.
Enhancements:
- This release includes the new abbreviation expansion predictive plugin, which allows users to specify a file containing a list of abbreviations/expansions pairs.
- It also includes bugfixes and documentation improvements.

FXPy 1.0.5

FXPy 1.0.5

FXPy is a Python extension module which provides an interface to the FOX cross-platform GUI library. more>>
FXPy is a Python extension module which provides an interface to the FOX cross-platform GUI library.

The FXPy API follows the standard FOX API very closely and for the most part you can use FOX documentation as a reference. But of course, Python isnt C++ and so here are some differences of which you should be know.

Any function which usually takes an FXString as an input instead takes a Python string. Similarly, functions which usually return an FXString will instead return a Python string. For functions which would accept a NULL or empty string argument, just pass an empty string ("") or None.

In FOX, message maps are defined as static class members. In FXPy, you just associate messages with message handlers in the class constructor using the FXMAPFUNC(), FXMAPTYPE(), FXMAPTYPES() or FXMAPFUNCS() methods. See almost any of the example programs for examples of how this is done.

As in C++ FOX, the last argument passed to your message handler functions contains message-specific data. For instance, all SEL_PAINT messages pass an FXEvent object through this argument to give you some information about the size of the exposed rectangle. On the other hand, a SEL_COMMAND message from an FXHeader object passes the index of the selected header item through this argument. Instead of guessing whats in this last argument, your best bet is to instead invoke a member function on the sending object to find out what you need, instead of relying on the data passed through this pointer.

For example, if you get a SEL_COMMAND message from an FXColorWell object, the data passed through that last argument is supposed to be the new RGB color value. Instead of trying to interpret the arguments contents, just turn around and call the color wells getRGBA() member function to retrieve its color. Similarly, if you get a SEL_COMMAND message from a tree list, call its getCurrentItem() method to find out which item was selected.
