Vista-Inspirate provides a Vista-looking icon pack for KDE and Gnome.

This is an icon theme based on my other theme "nuoveXT" and "Windows Vista".

It is strongly recommended to have NuoveXT (1.5) installed to use this theme, simply because it inherits it (all mimetypes for instance).

Savane 3.0

Savane 3.0

Savane is a web-based free software hosting system. more>>
Savane is a Web-based Libre Software hosting system. It currently includes issue tracking (bugs, task, support), project and member management, mailing lists, and individual account maintenance. Savane is internationalised and themable. Savane depends on Perl, PHP and MySQL.
Savane is the continuation of the Savannah software project by the same team of developers and contributors, under a slightly modified name.
Enhancements:
- A markup language enables users to format content, for instance in item reports.
- Numerous anti-spam tools are now available: DNSbl, SpamAssassin, and the ability for users to flag content as spam.
- The item page layout has been reorganized so that editing the item attributes or inserting a comment no longer require scrolling of the window.
- The various sections are folded (and can be unfolded by a simple click) to provide a more condensed layout.
- It is possible to create squads to group small teams of members that must be assigned items together.

Velocity for Linux 1.5

Velocity for Linux 1.5

a Java-based template engine more>> Velocity is a Java-based template engine. It permits anyone to use a simple yet powerful template language to reference objects defined in Java code.
When Velocity is used for web development, Web designers can work in parallel with Java programmers to develop web sites according to the Model-View-Controller (MVC) model, meaning that web page designers can focus solely on creating a site that looks good, and programmers can focus solely on writing top-notch code. Velocity separates Java code from the web pages, making the web site more maintainable over its lifespan and providing a viable alternative to Java Server Pages (JSPs) or PHP.
Velocitys capabilities reach well beyond the realm of the web; for example, it can be used to generate SQL, PostScript and XML (see Anakia for more information on XML transformations) from templates. It can be used either as a standalone utility for generating source code and reports, or as an integrated component of other systems. For instance, Velocity provides template services for the Turbine web application framework, together resulting in a view engine facilitating development of web applications according to a true MVC model.

File Selection Language 0.5.1

File Selection Language 0.5.1

File Selection Language is a descriptive language for file selection. more>>
File Selection Language (FSL) is a descriptive language for file selection. File Selection Language is used to selectively pick files from a directory structure.
FSL is useful for selective backups, for instance. FSL uses glob patterns as the basic building block.
For fine-tuning the selection, inclusion/exclusion rule combinations and conditional expressions are available. File size and modification date can be used in expressions.
Main features:
- FSL can be used with a command line tool (fsltool) or, for Python programmers, with a programmable interface. For the Python interface, see the documentation of Interpreter.py.
- Several FSL rule files can be combined in a cascading manner similar to CSS. The effect is the same as if the rule files were pasted into a single file.
- Support for both Windows-like and Unix-like paths.
- Strict parse-time type checking to catch as many errors as possible before run-time. For example, you cant say EACH f IF size(5) > 1000 because function size expects filename argument.

genlogstatcoll 0.1

genlogstatcoll 0.1

genlogstatcoll is a generic collector to collect statistic data from log file delivered in via a syslog interface. more>>
genlogstatcoll is a generic collector to collect statistic data from log file delivered in via a syslog interface and provided via the AgentX interface through a SNMP daemon.

A syslog daemon (for instance syslog-ng) has to be configured to send relevant data (for instance the messages on the facility MAIL) to the genlogstatcoll too.

Considering the genlogstatcoll input interface is configured on 172.16.1.12, port 9514, this config line for syslog-ng will do the trick:

destination maillog { file("/var/log/mail/$YEAR/$MONTH/$DAY/mail.log"
create_dirs(yes) dir_perm(0755) owner("root") group("mail")
perm(0640)); udp("172.16.1.12" port(9514)); };

An SNMP daemon (for instance net-snmp 5.2.3) has to be configured to open the AgentX interface.

Considering the SNMP daemon should open the interface on 172.16.1.12, port 9161, these line in the snmpd.conf will do it:

master agentx
AgentXSocket 172.16.1.12:9161

Now, you can configure a facility to filter the input data, a SNMP oid to mount on and a couple of regexes, to count their matches in the log data.

Operator 0.7 for Firefox

Operator 0.7 for Firefox

Operator is a Firefox extension that lets you combine information on Web sites with applications in ways that are useful. more>>
Operator is a Firefox extension that lets you combine information on Web sites with applications in ways that are useful.

For instance, Flickr + Google Maps, Upcoming.org + Google Calendar, Yahoo! Local + your address book, and many more possibilities and permutations.

All of these scenarios are possible due to Microformats, an emerging standard for injecting semantics into HTML.

You can use Operator to debug your microformats. Holding down the Ctrl key when you select a microformat action will show you the HTML that corresponds to that microformat. In addition, holding down the Shift key when you select a microformat action will display our internal representation of the microformat data.

If a microformat doesnt show up, but you believe there is one, it might be because the microformat is invalid. You can turn on debug mode in options to see invalid microformats.

Also, Operator was designed to be extensible. You can add more microformats and more handlers for existing microformats. For more information, check out handler-example.js and microformat-example.js in the Operator extension directory after you have installed Operator. New microformats and handlers should be placed in a directory called "microformats" in your profile directory.

I understand that I used a different way to do the translation for this version of the extension (JS file). For the next version, I will move the translation into a properties file.

postping 1.0

postping 1.0

postping is a package that aggregates weblog trackback pings into a Movable Type weblog, to create a meta-blog of weblog entries more>>
postping project is a package that aggregates weblog trackback pings into a Movable Type weblog, to create a meta-blog of weblog entries. The package provides a CGI that can receive trackback pings, as well as a form for manual submission. Each trackback is encapsulated into a Movable Type blog entry, and then posted to the weblog.

This package was developed for an earlier version of the Austin Bloggers meta-blog. We are no longer using this package, but Im making it available for people who may find it useful. See this article for background information on this package.

You must have Python version 2.2 (or later) installed on your system. Some versions of Red Hat Linux, for instance, only install version 1.5, and you need to manually install the RPM for 2.2.

You must already have Movable Type (or a system that understands the MT RPCs) installed on the system where you want to present the Metablog.

Scrinchy 0.15

Scrinchy 0.15

Scrinchy is a tiny HTTP multitasking webserver. more>>
Scrinchy is a tiny HTTP multitasking webserver that I wrote for my own purposes, but which is also a fitting response to the now fairly bloated Apache.
Its name derives from an obscure English verb "to scrinch" which generally means to willfully compress a thing which is not very large into a smaller size. For instance "to scrinch your eyes". This is apt, because Scrinchy is a project where the goal is constantly to make it smaller but yet as feature-rich as possible.
Scrinchy is capable of serving HTML, JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and various other file types, as well as running Perl, Python and (theoretically) PHP scripts externally and passing GET params and cookies to those scripts. At this stage, Scrinchy does not support POST but it will later.
Scrinchy also has some anti-hacker features, described in the README file. The more I use the server myself and observe all the hair-brained things attackers and infected computers do, the more amusement I find in squashing their pitiful efforts.
Enhancements:
- This release improves the internal stack-based interpretive language.

GREYCstoration 2.5.2.1

GREYCstoration 2.5.2.1

GREYCstoration is an image regularization algorithm which processes an image by locally removing small variations of pixels. more>>
GREYCstoration is an image regularization algorithm which processes an image by locally removing small variations of pixel intensities while preserving significant global image features, such as sharp edges and corners.
The most direct application of image regularization is denoising. By extension, GREYCstoration can also be used to inpaint or resize images.
GREYCstoration is based on state-of-the-art methods using nonlinear multi-valued diffusion PDEs (Partial Differential Equations) for image regularization. This kind of method generally outperforms basic image filtering techniques (such as convolution, median filtering, etc.), classically encountered in painting programs.
Other image denoising plugins are available (for instance, Noise Ninja, Neat Image ) but are not free, and the corresponding algorithms are kept secret.
Enhancements:
- This release consumes far less memory than the previous version (2.4.2), so it can deal with very large images.
- There are now processing modes for 16-bit/components and 32-bit float-valued images, as well as multi-thread support.
- A brand new plug-in for the GIMP is provided.

XML::Compile::Schema::Translate 0.06

XML::Compile::Schema::Translate 0.06

XML::Compile::Schema::Translate is a Perl module to create an XML data parser. more>>
XML::Compile::Schema::Translate is a Perl module to create an XML data parser.

INHERITANCE

XML::Compile::Schema::Translate
is an Exporter

SYNOPSIS

# for internal use only!

This module converts a schema type definition into a code reference which can be used to interpret a schema. The sole public function in this package is compile_tree(), and is called by XML::Compile::Schema::compile(), which does a lot of set-ups. Please do not try to use this package directly!

The code in this package interprets schemas; it understands, for instance, how complexType definitions work. Then, when the schema syntax is decoded, it will knot the pieces together into one CODE reference which can be used in the main user program.

Cooperative Linux 0.6.4

Cooperative Linux 0.6.4

Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively. more>>
Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively.

More generally, Cooperative Linux (short-named coLinux) is a port of the Linux kernel that allows it to run cooperatively alongside another operating system on a single machine.

For instance, it allows one to freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP, without using a commercial PC virtualization software such as VMware, in a way which is much more optimal than using any general purpose PC virtualization software.

In its current condition, it allows us to run the KNOPPIX Japanese Edition on Windows.

lhs2tex 1.9

lhs2tex 1.9

lhs2tex is a preprocessor to generate LaTeX from literate Haskell sources. more>>
lhs2TeX is a preprocessor to generate LaTeX code from literate Haskell sources.
Main features:
- Different styles to process your source file: for instance, "tt" style uses a monospaced font for the code while still allowing you to highlight keywords etc, whereas "poly" style uses proportional fonts for identifiers, handles indentation nicely, is able to replace binary operators by mathematical symbols and take care of complex horizontal alignments.
- Formatting directives, which let you customize the way certain tokens in the source code should appear in the processed output.
- A liberal parser that can handle most of the language extensions; you dont have to restrict yourself to Haskell 98.
- Preprocessor-style conditionals that allow you to generate different versions of a document from a single source file (for instance, a paper and a presentation).
- Active documents: you can use Haskell to generate parts of the document (useful for papers on Haskell).
- A manual explaining all the important aspects of lhs2TeX.
