amaroK Last.fm tags 0.1.1
amaroK Last.fm tags script fetches your tags from Last.fm for artists, albums, and tracks. more>>
amaroK Last.fm tags script fetches your tags from Last.fm for artists, albums, and tracks. It stores them as id3v2 COMM tags in your music files and appends them to the comment for the given track in amaroKs collection where they can be used to contruct smart playlists.
So far this script only fetches your tags, it doesnt syncronize changes you make locally back to Last.fm. Probably this feature should wait until the implementation of "labels" which is coming in amaroK 1.5.
Also so far it is only possible to fetch tags for a selection within a playlist. The other context sub-menus just provide helpful messages saying that this feature isnt implimented yet.
As usual this software comes with no warrenty, it might eat your lunch, etc.. That said it works for me.
I owe a large debt of gratitude to Miguel Angel Alvarez whoes amaroK Replaygain script served as the skeleton of this one. Thanks Miguel!

Last.fm Suggests for amaroK 0.6
Last.fm Suggests for amaroK is a script that lets you quickly check what artists are similar to those that you already have. more>>
Last.fm Suggests for amaroK is a script that lets you quickly check what artists are similar to those that you already have in your playlist. The script uses last.fms suggestions feature without making you leave the amaroK interface.
This script will create links directly to the Last.fm page of the artist, and you dont have to be currently listening to anything to query last.fm for similar artists. Also, you can have the script list only artists that are not already in your collection... to make it even easier to find new music.
The default number of links to show is 12, but this can be changed using the configure option in the script manager.
Installation:
Use the built-in script installer for amarok on the tarball.

USF FlashMob RC4
USF FlashMob is a Live CD made by FlashMobComputing.org more>>
USF FlashMob is a Live CD made by FlashMobComputing.org
USF FlashMob RC4 contains updates that we made to the server code the night before flashmob day. This will allow power users to run larger flashmobs and configure individual nodes with different processor types. In addition we have released the source code for USF_FlashMob_RC_4 (source).
We have put the source for the FlashMob ISO image into the following directories:
- kernel: The patched and modified kernel Linux kernel (2.4.25) that we use on the CD. Kernel modules added to the CD.
- fmtools: The code that runs the FlashMob (fm_* programs).
- mpi: The source for the implementations of MPI on the CD. These are unmodified versions of LAM-MPI and LAMPI.
- blas: The source we used for the ATLAS BLAS libraries. This is unmodified.
- hpl: The modified versions of HPL we used on the CD.
Documentation to build a FlashMob CD does not exist yet. Take a look at the morphix scripts in fmtools. These will let you "unpack" and "pack" a FlashMob CD.

KMid is a midi/karaoke player with many features. more>>
KMid is a X11 / KDE based midi player for Linux and FreeBSD.
KMid displays the text of karaoke files and change its colour as it is being played so that the tune can be easily followed !
It uses /dev/sequencer as output device supporting external synths, AWE , GUS and now also FM cards (such as sb16 or sbpro).
Main features:
- KMid has a nice interface to display karaoke lyrics.
- A channel view to see what notes is each instrument playing.
- Supports external midi synths, AWE cards, FM output, and GUS (for the later, needs the Linux Ultrasound Project driver and gusd installed).

- A Volume bar to change the volume of the song.
- Consumes approximately 0.1% of my CPU (depends on the complexity of the song)
- Runs on Linux and FreeBSD (perhaps also other unices ...)
Enhancements:
- KMid current version has support for midi mappers, karaoke, playlists, and much more.

MEKA 0.72
MEKA is a multi-machine emulator for MS-DOS, MS-Windows and maybe GNU/Linux. more>> MEKA is a multi-machine emulator for MS-DOS, MS-Windows and maybe GNU/Linux.
The following machines are supported by MEKA:
Sega Game 1000 (SG-1000)
Sega Computer 3000 (SC-3000)
Sega Super Control Station (SF-7000)
Sega Mark III (+ FM Unit)
Sega Master System (SMS)
Sega Game Gear (GG)
ColecoVision (COLECO)
Othello Multivision (OMV)
MEKA also include a powerful debugger and various debugging/hacking tools.
MEKA is the result of a several years effort from several persons.
Omar Cornut "Bock" - Machine emulation, Graphical User Interface, tools, and other general things. Im the main responsible for MEKA, although other people have contributed with various important work (read below).
Hiromitsu Shioya "Hiro-shi" has been working on the original MEKA sound engine years ago. His work still shows in the main sound engine structure, YM-2413 emulation through OPL and the sound interface to the SEAL Audio library.
Marat Fayzullin "Rst38h" wrote a Z80 CPU core for his various emulation project, and that ended being used in MEKA. Ive brought fixes and improvements to the core, but the very most of work is definitively from Marat.
Maxim has contributed work and research on the SN-76496 PSG along with an implementation that eventually replaced the initial one.
Mitsutaka Okazaki has wrote a digital YM-2413 emulator named Emu2413, which was implemented in MEKA. You can hear this emulator by enabling FM Unit and digital emulation.
Ulrich Cordes finally wrote a FDC-765 emulator that was used as a base to emulate the floppy disk controller of the SF-7000.
MEKA is distributed freely on the internet as a downloadable ZIP archive containing the whole, non-crippled program and additionnal data and documentation related to it.
If you like the emulator, any form of contribution is greatly welcome and appreciated. Contributions helps the MEKA and SMS Power! projects, which are tied together.<<less

It also features quite some extras: rendering using openGL acceleration, full screen, built in console (based on TCL), MSX debugging facilities, scalers, using directories as disk images (still buggy though), screenshots, speed settings, frame skip, scanlines, TV-blur, afterglow (GL), and more...
For a really long description: again, please see our home page.

LibKMid 0.9.5
LibKMid is a library that implements features to play MIDI events on MIDI devices. more>>
LibKMid is a library that implements features to play MIDI events on MIDI devices. LibKMid also includes easy-to-use functions if all you want is play MIDI files in your application (for example, background music in a game), and a console MIDI player. The API is well documented, and the design is very simple for the most common uses.
LibKMid uses the OSS drivers to support External MIDI synthesizers, AWE, GUS and FM synths, along with soundcards from the SB Live family.
You can add easily support for any other MIDI device you may find (but Im afraid there isnt any left), MIDI Mappers (in the same format as MIDI mappers from KMid), and a MIDI file player engine that is able to play MIDI files even if theyre really corrupted or broken.
Perhaps the main thing about LibKMid is that its optimized to take up as little resources as possible, so playing a complex MIDI on my computer (a K6/200) takes approximately 0.1% of the CPU.
