Open Flash Chart 1.9.2

Open Flash Chart 1.9.2

Open Flash Chart software creates Flash-based charts for Web pages. more>>
Open Flash Chart software creates Flash-based charts for Web pages.
How does it work?
1. User browses to your web site.
2. The browser downloads the web page which contains the Open Flash Chart.
3. Open Flash Chart downloads the data file and displays the chart.
When you add Open Flash Chart to your web page, you tell it where to find the data file.
Why is that great?
When the user downloads the web page, Open Flash Chart requests the chart data from the server. The server knows who the user is so it can generate a chart for that particular user showing up to the minute data.
Is it complicated to set up?
You will need to include the Open Flash Chart in your HTML, and you also need to provide the data file on the server. The data file is either a text file, or a .php (or another flavour of dynamic) page.
For a simple chart you would just drop the data.txt file on your website and point the Open Flash Chart to this URL.
But what we really want is dynamic data that is pulled from a database or calculated or something. To do this you need to create the data file when it is requested. To do this we point the Open Flash Chart to a .php page and this PHP page does your calculations and/or database lookups, then outputs the data file.
To make this a bit easier I have written a PHP class to write the data file for you.
Enhancements:
- The PHP was updated to enable 3D charts and glass charts.
- Some more options were added to the other graph types.

FlashUnity Client 0.3

FlashUnity Client 0.3

FlashUnity is a channel-based approach to an XML flash communications server and chat room. more>>
FlashUnity is a channel-based approach to an XML flash communications server and chat room.
Using the concept of channels and filters the FlashUnity server becomes extremely flexible and very easy to extend. Also, by using channels it is possible to run multiple modular functions within the same server.
Filters allow you to prefilter input for all channels or provide other functionality to all channels. This is a total rewrite of CyberSS, and the APIs and XML have multiple major changes. Each module, filter, and the chat client are in their own seperate PEAR package.
Enhancements:
- Room changes now work properly, and there are Uselist updates.
- This is the final release before 1.0.

XHR Chat is a demonstration type chat script I wrote when experimenting with xmlHttpRequest. It never refreshes, keeps an infinite post log, and checks for new posts once a second.

XHR Chat will degrade gracefully if the browser doesnt support xmlHttpRequest, just so long it still has javascript enabled.

FlashUnity 0.8

FlashUnity 0.8

FlashUnity is a channel based approach to a XML Flash communications server and Chat room. more>>
FlashUnity project is a channel based approach to a XML Flash communications server and Chat room.
The CyberSS project this spawned from was originally nothing more then a simple PHP socket server example with a simple chat frontend as a proof of concept. FlashUnity however was built from the ground up to be a easy to extend Flash communications server.
By using the concept of channels each of which handles a diffrent task the FlashUnity server becomes extremely flexible and easy to extend. Also by using channels it is possible to run multiple modular functions within the same server.
Because this is a total rewrite of Cyberss from the ground up and the APIs and XML have multiple major changes there are currently no working Flash clients, anyone interested in helping out in this area feel free to send me a email.
Enhancements:
- Improvements to debug.
- The debug setting is now followed properly.

Wap IRC Gateway 0.30

Wap IRC Gateway 0.30

Wap-IRC gateway allows you to chat on IRC with any WAP-enabled mobile phone. more>>
Wap-IRC gateway allows you to chat on IRC with any WAP-enabled mobile phone. It works by running the server program on a Unix-like system that is accessible over the Internet. It doesnt require phones which have programs written in Java.
I am Tomas Vilda, student studying at University of Vilnius, Lithuania. I started interested in wap when I bought my first wap enabled mobile phone. I searched for the running irc-wap gateway. But with no success. Actually, I found some, but no such, that I make to connect to specified IRC server. Then I found wapirc gateway written by Alan Cox . I tried it on my FreeBSD server. During compilation I got error, because of bad Makefile. So I compiled it by correcting Makefile and ran successful. My mobile is Siemens C55. To start using this wapirc gateway I have to make some modifications. They are listed below.

Flash for Linux 0.2.1

Flash for Linux 0.2.1

Flash for Linux is a SWF editor for Linux. more>>
Flash for Linux project is a development environment for Macromedia Flash, a format widely used for web applications and vector animation.
F4L is in such early stages of design that it is not recommended for use by people without knowlege of C++, QT, Ming, etc.
F4L is a clone, or imitation, of a Macromedia, Inc. product called Flash. The most current version of Flash is MX 2004. Flash is designed to help people make programs that can be used on any computer and that can be distributed over the Internet.
Flash can even be easily included in a web page. Most browsers include a plug-in that allows users to view Flash content in web pages. If you do not have this plug-in, you may wish to visit http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ to get it for Mozilla (or compatible), Opera, Internet Explorer, AOL, OS X, OS 9, Pocket PC, OS/2, Irix, Solaris, or HP-UX for free.
Flash offers easy development of professional applications. Flash development is based mostly on a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Through the GUI, a developer can draw their application on the screen. Drawings can be converted to animations, buttons, and other features with the development environments menus and dialog boxes.
Competing methods of development, such as C++, Java or JavaScript, require technical knowledge of a special programming language and mathematics. A Flash applications GUI features are extremely limited compared to a programming language based project. To compensate for this weakness, Macromedia added Action Scripts to Flash.
Action Scripts are a sort of programming language, but there are only a few commands to learn, and they are selected off a menu. Action Scripting is equivalent to programming a graphing calculator with BASIC; it should not take you more than a few days to learn, if you have the patience to read boring instructions.
While Flash can be developed with very few Action Scripts, the scripts add to the interactivity of the application. Most web sites using Flash do not use Action Scripts intensively, with the exception of games. Flash can also work with JavaScript.
Enhancements:
- The program can now export simple objects like images, lines, rectangles, ovals (ellipses), and text.
- The "locate" command is used to find the TrueType font files needed for text.

AjaxChat is a simple, fast, and customizable chat server that uses Ajax. more>>
AjaxChat is a simple, fast, and customizable chat server that uses Ajax to smoothly refresh and display the chat zone and the nickname zone.
AjaxChat project supports customized CSS stylesheets and plugins.
Online chat is a generic term for what are now mostly known as instant messaging applications-computer programs that enable two-way typing to connect users to each other.
However, there are net dating systems and other online services that do not use these applications to provide chat facilities, e.g., Delphi, often relying on HTTP-based protocols instead. Sometimes these are called a chat room or chat extending the physical metaphors of sites and magazines which many web services exploit.
Today there are many chat rooms, some incorporating instant messaging features without having to install additional chat software. These chatrooms often have friend finders built in.
Some of these systems also provide telephone voice mail access. These are usually known generically as just chat systems.
A chat log is a record of a chat. Sometimes this is put on the web.
The earliest online chat system widely used was probably the Unix talk facility. The earliest one in general use was likely the French Minitel. During the 1980s, online chat was made available on CompuServe and DDial servers, and later on GEnie. In 1988, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) protocol, an instant messaging tool, was developed and became the de-facto standard for online chat.
Enhancements:
- An optimized chat weight, a simplified initialization process, and simplified theme creation.

AndyChat 3.00

AndyChat 3.00

AndyChat is a program for chatting to people over various network protocols. more>>
AndyChat is a program for chatting to people over various network protocols. It was originally designed as a chat program which can work only on IPX networks. Now its fast becoming a command line Curses based IRC client which will eventually have all the features of AndyChat v2.xx minus the IPX code, and will have additional features including support for all the Instant Messenger systems I can get my hands on, starting with ICQ, and also several Java/Web chat backends (for users to participate in Yahoo! Web Chats, etc from the console!).

Also, since AndyChat v3.xx is written in Perl, it should be theoretically possible to keep it cross-platform, although good luck in getting it to work on Win.
