apt4rpm creates an apt, yum, or metadata repository from a random RPM directory.
Main features:
- Support for multiple distributions/versions/architectures in a single apt, yum or metadata repository.
- "Atomic" switching from an old apt repository to the newly created one.
- Analyzes the rpm packages in the rpm repository and creates a unified rpm package name. This mechanism uses caching to speed up the creation of subsequent created apt, yum or metadata repositories. The rpm name, version and architecture are stored seperately in the cache. This makes it possible to easily search for 1 particular rpm throughout the whole apt repository.
- Can create signed repositories.
- Can mirror download server directories after downloading the repositories will be created.
- If possible it will mark a package as a security update, and will put it in the "security" component of the repository.
- Provides an example sources.list file for the "file:", "ftp://" and "http://" protocols.
- The repositories are created with links from the rpm repository. The rpm repository can have any format. Rpms can be filtered with accept/reject rules.
- Creates seperated binary, source, delta and patch rpms components automatically.
- XML formatted config file
- The source-rpm apt components can be provided in a flat or noflat structure. Switching between those 2 can be performed without problem.
- A most recent rpm list can be created for each component.
- A contents list is created for the whole apt repository.

libpackman (Package Management) library provides a single API for accessing multiple package formats and package databases.

Libpackmans module support allows for other developers to quickly provide support for new package formats and database formats.

Libpackman is in the alpha stage. It currently supports reading of RPM packages, partial reading of Debian packages, reading of the RPM database, and reading/writing of the GNUpdate database. Packages can be queried, but installation is, for the moment, disabled.

NOTE: This is a development release, and may harm your system if you use it to install packages. We take no responsibility for corrupted package databases or filesystems.

Installation:

$ ./configure --prefix=/usr

Then compile it:

$ make

And finally, install it:

$ make install

BZFlag is a free multiplayer multiplatform 3D tank battle game. The name stands for Battle Zone capture Flag. BZFlag runs on Irix, Linux, *BSD, Windows, Mac OS X and other platforms. Its one of the most popular games ever on Silicon Graphics machines.
The Linux install can use either RPM or DEB formats. To install, use rpm or apt, repectively. Its possible that the following symbolic links may need to be made to get BZFlag to install properly over Mesa:
$ ln -s libMesaGL.so.3 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
$ ln -s libMesaGLU.so.3 /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1
Also, rpm may require the --nodeps option for some systems (to get around broken dependencies). However, Mesa is absolutely required for DRI systems.
Enhancements:

- Enhancements to graphic performance.
- New in game logos and icons.

Software::Packager::Rpm is a suite of Perl modules providing a common interface for
the creation of platform specific software installation packagers.

This method overrides the add_item method in Software::Packager. It adds the ability to add extra features used by RPM for each object in the package.

program_name()

This method is used to set the name of the program that the package is installing. This may in should be the same as the package name but that is not required. It must not contain spaces or a dash "-" and must be all on one line.

version()
$packager->version(1.2.3.4.5.6);
my $version = $packager->version();

This method sets the version for the package to the passed value. The version passed cannot contain a dash "-" or spaces and must be on one line.

release()

This method sets the release version for the package. The release is the number of times the package has been recreated. If the release is not set then a default of 1 is used. It cannot contain spaces, a dash or new lines.

copyright()

This method sets the copyright type for the package. This should be the name of the copyright

source()

This method sets the source location for the package. This should be the URL for the source package used to create this package.

architecture()

This method sets the architecture for the package to the passed value. If no argument is passed then the current architecture is returned. This is the output "from uname -p"

package_name()
my $name = $packager->package_name();

This method returns the name of the package that will be created.

short_description()

$packager->short_description("This is a short description.");

The short description is just that a short description of the program. It must be all on one line.

description()
$packager->description("This is the description.");
my $description = $packager->description();

The description method sets the package description to the passed value. If no arguments are passed the package description is returned.

The discription can be of any length. It will be formatted by RPM in the following way:
If a line starts with a space it will be printed verbatim.

A blank line signifies a new paragraph.

All other lines will be assumed to be part of a paragraph and will be formatted by RPM.

package()

This method creates the package and returns true if it is successful else it returns undef

blah project consists of a utility for maintaining a list of frequently copy-and-pasted text.
When an item is selected from the menu the corresponding text is automatically placed into the clipboard.
You can then use the paste feature in another application to transfer the text.
The current version is functional and usable. However, my goal is to re-design/re-write the code as a GNOME panel app.
Enhancements:

AlsaMixer.app is simple mixer dockable application for WindowMaker running on Linux with ALSA drivers (>= 0.9.x). In another way, its dockable application for WindowMaker (but you can also use it in AfterStep, BlackBox, ...) window manager.

AlsaMixer.app can control up to three volume sources, store/load mixer setting and run external applicaton on middle click. Nearly whole sources was taken from Mixer.app only ALSA mixer part was added.

To install, download source codes, then:

tar xvfz AlsaMixer.app-0.1.tar.gz
cd AlsaMixer.app-0.1
make
make install-x11 or download i586.rpm file and
rpm -ivh AlsaMixer.app-0.1.i586.rpm
or download src.rpm file and rebuild it and install.

mach allows you to set up clean build roots from scratch for any distribution or distribution variation supported. In this clean build root you can then easily generate pristine packages. mach is written in python.

Currently, mach supports rpm-based distributions that can work with apt for rpm - hopefully this will be extended to other types of package manager as well.

mach is used for generating GStreamer packages (about 60 of them for each distribution) and Fedora packages. I also use it personally for the Dave/Dina project.
