Simple File Transfer is a pure useless program which allows you exchange files with remote computers via Internet. This program has been written for personnal use, so dont blame me if you think I am stupid doing such tool for the others.
It should run on every POSIX compliant Operating System, but I cant give you any complete list.
If you want to compile it under *BSD, maybe youll have to disable the uname() call by running the configure script with the --with-uname=no option.

GNOME Transfer Manager allows the user to retrieve multiple files from the web.
These files can be retrieved in multiple parts and each part retrieved on a separate session that the user is connected to the Internet. This is most useful to users with dialup connections. The program performs these tasks using wget as its back-end.
The program supports CORBA. This makes it easy for other programs to use GTransferManager to handle the transfer of files from the Internet.
The program also has an applet which communicates with program using CORBA. The applet can launch the program, request for a new download or accept drops of URLs from netscape, gFTP, gmc and give these URLs to GTM.

You can download files or tweak camera properties using ptpcam program boundled with libptp2.

The list of cameras implementing PTP is constantly growing. Most (if not all) USB still cameras designed after 2002 are supporting PTP. Below is the list of vendors implementing PTP in their cameras:

Please note that if your camera is supporting PTP it does not mean that it is capable of performing all PTP operations (like trigerring capture, uploading files or tweaking properties). Sony cameras are good example of poor PTP implementation where the only thing you can do is downloading files. Sony even breaks the USB specification assigning all its cameras the same product/vendor IDs so dont buy Sony if you want to stay out of problems.
Currently most PTP features are supported. Uploading/downloading files, taking pictures and setting camera properties is supported as long as your camera supports it. However there are many Vendor Extensions that are not supported.
For example Canon uses some proprietary extension operations to take pictures (entering capture mode, extending lens and so on), Nikon introduces proprietary PTP properties.
Unfortunately I have access to couple of Kodak cameras only so to help support extension features you may send me a patch or donate/lend the camera.
Enhancements:
- A number of bugs were fixed, including leaving the camera in an unpredictable state when an I/O error occurs.
- The projects own reimplementation of the old libusb interface (IOCTL_USB_BULK) is used instead of the new URB interface, which is 20% to 50% slower and sometime leads to I/O errors.

- Better capture support was added.
- A bug that caused files over 2MB to be corrupted while downloading was fixed.
- The --loop-capture feature was added.
- Configure errors and parralel build with make -j were fixed.

ExternalSiteCatalog is a web crawler that can index external sites and make them searchable in Plone.
You can specify the sites to index in a Plone Configlet, and directly index them from Plone, or let a scheduler do the job.
Searching the external sites is done in a special portlet that is installed with ExternalSiteCatalog.
External sites are not searchable in the normal Plone catalog, but are only available in a separate catalog in the portal_externalcatalog tool.

FSP stands for File Service Protocol. It is a very lightweight UDP based protocol for transferring files.
FSP has many benefits over FTP, mainly for running anonymous archives. FSP protocol is valuable in all kinds of environments because it is one of the only TCP/IP protocols that is not aggressive about bandwidth, while still being sufficiently fault tolerant.
FSP is what anonymous FTP *should* be.
FSP: reliable and bandwidth friendly way to access publicly available data. Some people calls it UDP FTP.

- fspscan now compiles on AIX and other OS without glibc (hoaxter)

Open Admin for Schools is a School Administration Program. It is a freely available, open source software package and is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
Open Administration for Schools project is entirely web based and can run from a centrally located division wide server or a single computer in a school. It is designed to support an entire division on one or more central computers but can also work just fine for a single school.
Currently several school divisions use this approach and have 15+ schools on a single central server. This is because it is designed to be lightweight both in server resource requirements and in communication bandwidth.
It is secure. Each school has two or more virtual websites and each is protected with password(s). One site, the admin site, is used by the school office and another, the teacher site, is used by teachers in the classroom.
The teacher site also has password access for entering attendance by teachers and also uses cookies that expire in a short period, further limiting access. Another site, a parent/student site, is controlled by parent/student userids and passwords. A fourth virtual site may be used by school liason officers from outside agencies to give them a slightly different access to school information. (Community Schools)
Main features:
- Demographics - It stores student and family information that can be viewed and printed in a variety of ways.
- Attendance - Attendance can be entered either by secretaries in the school office or by teachers in the classroom. It features the ability to do different numbers of periods per day for elementary grades vs high school and middle years. This will allow elementary classes to have 2 classes per day (AM/PM) with a homeroom teacher while higher grades can have attendance done on a per subject period basis (and be subject based). Attendance reports are integrated with report cards/progress reports. A variety of attendance reports are available. - Discipline - A simple discipline module to track student discipline events and track outcomes, etc. Behaviours may be categorized and statistical reports may be printed. Enrollment changes are also posted into this system.
- Report Card System - a flexible reporting system with per subject objectives (up to 20), integrated attendance reporting, etc. All report cards are printed as PDF reports and may include a school logo. Currently several school divisions use this approach and have 15+ schools on a single central server. This is because it is designed to be lightweight both in server resource requirements and in communication bandwidth.
It is secure. Each school has two or more virtual websites and each is protected with password(s). One site, the admin site, is used by the school office and another, the teacher site, is used by teachers in the classroom.
The teacher site also has password access for entering attendance by teachers and also uses cookies that expire in a short period, further limiting access. Another site, a parent/student site, is controlled by parent/student userids and passwords. A fourth virtual site may be used by school liason officers from outside agencies to give them a slightly different access to school information. (Community Schools)

- Attendance - Attendance can be entered either by secretaries in the school office or by teachers in the classroom.
