KPuzzle 0.4
KPuzzle is a jigsaw puzzle game for KDE 3. more>>
KPuzzle is a jigsaw puzzle game for the KDE environment. The current version is based on KDE 3 and QT 3, so it should work with every minor release of KDE 3 and QT 3. There are no dependencies on other libraries or programs.
KPuzzle allows various ways of playing the game, as well as various difficulty levels. You can use the pictures delivered with KPuzzle, but you may play with every picture you wish, of course.
Furthermore, there are some picture sets which you can download separately.
Main features:
- Possibility of using every picture without restrictions
- Full saving/loading support
- Internationalization/localization support
- Various types of playing and various levels of difficulty
KPuzzle allows you five game type settings:
- Standard: There is nothing special about it, just solve the game before your time runs out.
- Piece-Time: You have a certain time to position every piece. When the time runs out for this piece, it will not be shown in the piece list any more, and you will not be able to finish the game.
- Faults-Count: You have only got a certain number of trials to position your piece. When the counter of tolerated faults for one piece has reached zero, the piece will no more appear in the piece list (as above).
- Global-Faults: There exists a global counter of the faults you have made.
- Unbearable: You have got a certain time to put any piece at its position, but the piece shown changes automatically! Every not-yet-placed piece will appear a certain number of times (which depends on the overall difficulty setting).
KPuzzle is delivered with various pictures and photos, but you are strongly encouraged to use every picture you like.
Enhancements:
- KPuzzle now works with KDE 3, minor bugfixes

Puzzle Blocks 0.5.3
Puzzle Blocks is a multi-platform puzzle game, designed for both Linux and Windows. more>>
Turts Puzzle Blocks multi-platform puzzle game, designed for both Linux and Windows. Turts Puzzle Blocks is also the current project of Turt99 Productions. The goal of the project is to gain experience C++ and Object Oriented Design, as well as to help in the learn process of Linux as a development platform.
Turts Puzzle Blocks has actually gone through many stages; it started its life as "Turts Breakdown". At this point the graphics where being designed so the "blocks" didnt exists. Once the "blocks" where created there was a need for the name to be changed, and a lot of new modes (or mini games) seemed to fall into the design. As of the Beta release you are basically seeing what "Turts Breakdown" was to be, however there are many more plans for Turts Puzzle Blocks.
Turts Puzzle Blocks is created using KDevelop 2.1 under Linux Redhat 9.0, and uses the SDL libraries. SDL was chosen because it is a multi-platform library that would allow the seamless development for 2 operating systems. SDL main library supplies the support for the windows and the display, but Turts Puzzle Blocks also uses two additional SDL libraries SDL_image and SDL_Mixer. SDL_image supports the use for PNG and TGA files, which allows for Alpha blending and results in clean lines and smooth graphics. SDL_mixer is used for playing sounds and the background music.

Enter: Restart current level
F: Toggle fullscreen mode
F2: Return to the selection screen
F3: Save what level youre currently on
F4: Load a level youve previously saved

IceBreaker project is an addictive action-puzzle game involving bouncing penguins.
IceBreaker is an action-puzzle game in which you must capture penguins from an Antarctic iceberg so they can be shipped to Finland, where they are essential to a secret plot for world domination.
To earn the highest Geek Cred, trap them in the smallest space in the shortest time while losing the fewest lives. IceBreaker was inspired by (but isnt an exact clone of) Jezzball by Dima Pavlovsky.
Enhancements:
- little bits of code cleanup
- slightly increase bonus for clearing more than 80 on higher levels to help counteract the fact that having more penguins make that more and more impossible

Python Kye 0.9.3
Python Kye is a puzzle game which takes ideas from Sokoban and the genre of falling-rocks puzzle games. more>>
Kye is a puzzle game which takes ideas from Sokoban and the genre of falling-rocks puzzle games. However, it includes a wider range of objects, allowing a larger variety of puzzles to be constructed.
Python Kye is a clone of the original, shareware, Kye for Windows, and is compatible with the large number of existing extra levels designed for the Windows version of Kye.
This is a clone of the original Kye, but it is a good one. I have done my best to make it as authentic to the original game as possible (and when I say my best, people who have seen PrBoom will know I take this seriously).
It mimics the original, including some of the unusual/buggy things which occur in the original game. It should be compatible with all levels for v1.0 and v2.0 of the original Windows version of Kye. Let me know if you find a level which seem not to work right.
The only respect in which it is not fully like the original is that it is slightly more predictable. In the original, timing-sensitive mechanisms in levels would sometimes break for no reason; I think the original used two separate timer objects to control the faster and slower objects, and these would sometimes drift apart.
My version does not do this; but this effect was so marginal that I doubt any levels exist which depend on it.
And, unlike Kye for Windows v2, there is no level editor in this version. But you can always edit them with a text editor ? half of the existing extra levels were made this way.
Enhancements:
- Wall auto-rounding in the editor was fixed.
- The .desktop files in the RPM were fixed.
- Code cleanups were done.

Hexagonal Minesweeper 0.2.1
Hexagonal Minesweeper is a puzzle game, inspired by famous Minesweeper. more>>
Hexagonal Minesweeper is a puzzle game, inspired by famous Minesweeper. HexaMine is puzzle game is based on idea of famous Minesweeper.
Classic Minesweeper quickly becomes boring for experienced player as he remembers most of restricted set of possible game situations, and nothing can challenge him to thing more then 3 seconds any more.
Proprietary MegaMiner by Astatix Software, has introduced mines with variable power to solve this problem, but it created a new one: there were too much situations when player had to guess rather then prove.
HexaMine has taken te idea of MegaMiner a lot further. Here are features, which allow HexaMine to present even most experienced player nontrivial challenging yet solvable game situations:
1) Different mine powers. Exactly as in MegaMiner.
2) Hexagonal grid. This reduces the number is possible situations for any single cell. This also makes surrounding of a cell look nore like a circle, which is more intuitive.
3) Concept of close and far neighborhood. There is nothing new about first one, as it is just sum of mine powers of ajacent cells. Far neighborhood is entirely new concept. Think of real metal detector. It can pick up any mine within small radius, say of 1 meter. This is exactly the close neighborhood. But mentioned metal detector can also pick up larger objects within bigger radius, say 2 meters, although the signal is weaker. This is exactly the concept of far neighborhood. For each empty cell the close neighborhood threat is calculated as mentioned above, although for far neighborhood threat each mine is reduced by 1 category. Smallest mines are not taken into account, larger ones seem smaller. Both threats are specified for open empty cell.
4) In contrast to other known to me Minesweeper-like games, in HexaMine you never know neither number of mines of each power, nor exact total number of mines.
The bottom line, (1) and (4) creates mathematically finite but practically countless number of different game situations, while (2) and (3) give player enough information, although very complicate, to solve vast majority of them without need to guess.
