Modular synthesis is one of the most flexible and fascinating ways of making electronic music. The principles of voltage-controlled modular synthesis have been stated in the famous paper Voltage-Controlled Electronic Music Modules by Robert A. Moog , presented in 1964 at the Annual Convention of the Audio Engineering Society.
AlsaModularSynth is a digital implementation of a classical analog modular synthesizer system. It uses virtual control voltages to control the parameters of the modules. The control voltages which control the frequency e.g. of the VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) and VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) modules follow the convention of 1V / Octave. Read the first two pages of the Moog paper to understand why this logarithmic scale is so important.
A real analog synthesizer has a lot of knobs and switches which give immediate access to all important parameters of the generated sound. AlsaModularSynth can be controlled by MIDI controller boxes, like e.g. the Doepfer Pocket Dial . MIDI events can be assigned to module parameters in a very flexible way by using the Control Center dialog of AlsaModularSynth.

Monsterz is a little arcade puzzle game, similar to the famous Bejeweled or Zookeeper.

Monsterzs goal of the game is to create rows of similar monsters, either horizontally or vertically. The only allowed move is the swap of two adjacent monsters, on the condition that it creates a row of three or more. When alignments are cleared, pieces fall from the top of the screen to fill the board again. Chain reactions earn you even more points.

This game is mostly about luck, but it remains highly addictive. You have been warned. Currently three modes are available:

Classic- play against the clock and clear a given number of each monster type to reach next level.
Puzzle- clear lines of monsters to move pieces around and put together the puzzle.
Training- play against the clock in a neverending level, chose the timer difficulty and number of monsters for infinite fun.

Monsterz is completely free software, available under the terms of the WTFPL.

Alien GUI is a graphical user interface of famous Alien which makes it possible to transform packages.

You must be logged in root to be able to use it.

SmoothSlideSaver is a KDE screensaver which shows images from a directory as an OpenGL slideshow. SmoothSlideSaver screensaver uses the famous Ken Burns effect and smoothly fades from one image to the next.

You dont need to worry about complicated configuration options, everything should run smoothly out of the box. Just select a directory with some nice pictures (e.g., your digital photo collection) and let the show begin.

There are prebuilt packages for Debian and Ubuntu (i386 architecture, only). You can either download them via the links below, or more conveniently, apt-get them:

Put one of the following lines into your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

Then do the usual steps to install the package:

If you have another Debian based distribution and/or architecture (or if the unstable packages cant be installed), you can easily build your own package. Add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

Then execute the following commands:

Bloboats project is a boat racing game in the spirit of Elasto Mania or X-Moto, introducing a handful of elements from Super Mario Bros-like games.

The objective of Bloboats is to reach MS Enterprise as fast as possible to save if from
the hands of the terrible Tentacle Monsters of an Unknown Master and the same time beat your friend and laugh at his or her puny time.

The journey starts from a place called Tutorial, somewhere in the United States, and somehow the player ends up in the famous HV-Arena of Helsinki. During the trip a number of MS Enterprises are saved, luckily, from the hands of the terrible Tentacle Monsters of an Unknown Master, who actually is your dad. Or then aint.

MiniCppUnit is another C++ port of the famous JUnit framework for unit testing. Unlike CppUnit, MiniCppUnit follows a minimalistic aproach: The basic features are the same but in only bout 500 lines of code! No library instalation is needed, etc.
This C++ framework takes advantadge of OO C++ techiques and the standard library. The TestFixtures (test classes) definition is done through C macros, ala CppUnit.
MiniCppUnit project was originated as a tool for undergrade computer students, they wrote their tests using this framework, as well as a code example of a number of GoF Design Patterns (singleton, command, factory, composite).
Enhancements:
- The test case now exits after the first failure.
- Reliable floating point (double/float) assertions were added, including: fuzzy equals using proportional (to the expected) epsilon, not-a-number reliability, and a new macro ASSERT_EQUALS_EPSILON to use a different proportional epsilon.
- VisualC++ support and examples were added.
- More colors on the console output can be disabled.
- Colors are disabled by default when compiled in MS Visual.
- Catalan output strings and in-code comments were removed.
- UsageExample.cxx now uses all macros and features.

Hexagonal Minesweeper is a puzzle game, inspired by famous Minesweeper. HexaMine is puzzle game is based on idea of famous Minesweeper.

Classic Minesweeper quickly becomes boring for experienced player as he remembers most of restricted set of possible game situations, and nothing can challenge him to thing more then 3 seconds any more.

Proprietary MegaMiner by Astatix Software, has introduced mines with variable power to solve this problem, but it created a new one: there were too much situations when player had to guess rather then prove.

HexaMine has taken te idea of MegaMiner a lot further. Here are features, which allow HexaMine to present even most experienced player nontrivial challenging yet solvable game situations:

1) Different mine powers. Exactly as in MegaMiner.
2) Hexagonal grid. This reduces the number is possible situations for any single cell. This also makes surrounding of a cell look nore like a circle, which is more intuitive.
3) Concept of close and far neighborhood. There is nothing new about first one, as it is just sum of mine powers of ajacent cells. Far neighborhood is entirely new concept. Think of real metal detector. It can pick up any mine within small radius, say of 1 meter. This is exactly the close neighborhood. But mentioned metal detector can also pick up larger objects within bigger radius, say 2 meters, although the signal is weaker. This is exactly the concept of far neighborhood. For each empty cell the close neighborhood threat is calculated as mentioned above, although for far neighborhood threat each mine is reduced by 1 category. Smallest mines are not taken into account, larger ones seem smaller. Both threats are specified for open empty cell.
4) In contrast to other known to me Minesweeper-like games, in HexaMine you never know neither number of mines of each power, nor exact total number of mines.
The bottom line, (1) and (4) creates mathematically finite but practically countless number of different game situations, while (2) and (3) give player enough information, although very complicate, to solve vast majority of them without need to guess.
