Config::LotusNotes 0.30
Config::LotusNotes is a Perl module that allows you to access Lotus Notes/Domino configuration. more>>
Config::LotusNotes is a Perl module that allows you to access Lotus Notes/Domino configuration.
SYNOPSIS
$factory = Config::LotusNotes->new();
# access default installation
$conf = $factory->default_configuration();
$data = $conf->get_environment_value(Directory);
$conf->set_environment_value($NotesEnvParameter, value);
# find all installations
@installs = $factory->get_all_configurations();
Config::LotusNotes gives you a view of your local Lotus Notes/Domino installations from the filesystems perspective. Its main purpose is to read and manipulate the main Notes configuration file, notes.ini.
The module can handle multiple installations.
You can use it to
- enumerate local Notes/Domino installations
- gather basic information about your local Notes/Domino installations
- exchange data with Lotus Notes via the environment functions.
A Config::LotusNotes object searches the Windows registry for Lotus Notes installations, which can then be accessed in their representations as Config::LotusNotes::Configuration objects.
The Lotus Notes environment
The Lotus Notes environment is often used to store local user preferences and to share information between separate parts of an application.
The Lotus Notes formula language has the @Environment and @SetEnvironment functions and the ENVIRONMENT keyword to access the programs environment. Lotus script uses the GetEnvironmentValue, GetEnvironmentString, SetEnvironmentVar and Environ functions for that purpose. The Lotus Notes environment is stored in the notes.ini file, which is instantly updated after each change to the environment. This allows you to communicate data to external programs.
Unfortunately, Lotus Notes does not recognize external changes to notes.ini while it is running. If you need to push data to a running instance of Lotus Notes, you can use the environment functions of the corresponding OLE object as shown in "SEE ALSO". There might be problems with simultaneous programmatic and user access to the same Lotus Notes session.

Extract archive 1.11
Extract archive is a service menu that allows you to extract any archive file that ark is capable to read + ACE files. more>>
Extract archive is a service menu that allows you to extract any archive file that ark is capable to read + ACE files.
You can chose to extract here, or in a subdirectory. In that case, it asks you the name of the subdirectory where you want to extract, and suggests you the archive name by default.
To install, simply extract, and move the 2 files in ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus
Its highly recommended to download the latest version of unace on www.winace.com and to run this command line in the unace directory location : sudo cp unace /usr/bin/unace
You should desactivate ark integration into kde by going into the configuration menu of ark.
If you want translation to be added, post me comments.
Enhancements:
- thanks to shirka, extract archive path is now "test" for an "test.tar.bz2" file
- Name that appears in the menu is now "Extract archive" as suggested by dovidhalevi to differentiate with ark

MIDI Data Miner 3
MIDI Data Miner uses a neural network to learn correlations between notes and control changes in a MIDI file. more>>
MIDI Data Miner uses a neural network to learn correlations between notes and control changes in a MIDI file.
After training MDM can augment a live MIDI stream, adding control changes based on notes received.
Briefly: use MDM by connecting a MIDI device, open preferences and set MIDI input and output ports. Open a MIDI file, create a new neural net and train. Now play notes on your MIDI device, MDM will automatically add control changes.
MDM creates a collection of note and controller pairs from the file and uses them to train a net. The notes are used as inputs and the controls as outputs. The window is the number of previous notes considered when determining the output for the current note. Larger windows give less predictable more interesting responses. Enter a number in the window box and press enter to set the window size.
This is an early alpha release, buggy and incomplete. Please send feedback! Note that this alpha version only reads from the first track in a MIDI file, and only uses the first controller. Look at the included MIDI file in the working/midi folder for details.

Data.FormValidator 0.04
Data.FormValidators aim is to bring all the benefits of the perl module Data::FormValidator over to javascript. more>>
Data.FormValidators aim is to bring all the benefits of the perl module Data::FormValidator over to javascript, using the same input profiles (they can be dumped into javascript objects using the perl module Data::JavaScript.
Data.FormValidator library lets you define profiles which declare the required and optional fields and any constraints they might have.
The results are provided as an object which makes it easy to handle missing and invalid results, return error messages about which constraints failed, or process the resulting valid data.
IMPORTANT NOTE: JavaScript form validation is NOT a replacement for data validation in your backend scripts. This is the primary reason this module was written... so that it would be easy to share the same validation profile for both the frontend (via Data.FormValidator.js) and backend (via Data::FormValidator.pm).
Enhancements:
- A problem where some functions were not terminated by a semi-colon, so JavaScript compactors would end up creating broken code was fixed.

DateTime::Format::Excel 0.2901
DateTime::Format::Excel is a Perl module that can convert between DateTime and Excel dates. more>>
DateTime::Format::Excel is a Perl module that can convert between DateTime and Excel dates.
SYNOPSIS
use DateTime::Format::Excel;
# From Excel via class method:
my $datetime = DateTime::Format::Excel->parse_datetime( 37680 );
print $datetime->ymd(.); # 2003.02.28
# or via an object
my $excel = DateTime::Format::Excel->new();
print $excel->parse_datetime( 25569 )->ymd; # 1970-01-01
# Back to Excel number:
use DateTime;
my $dt = DateTime->new( year => 1979, month => 7, day => 16 );
my $daynum = DateTime::Format::Excel->format_datetime( $dt );
print $daynum; # 29052
# or via an object
my $other_daynum = $excel->format_datetime( $dt );
print $other_daynum; # 29052
Excel uses a different system for its dates than most Unix programs. This module allows you to convert between a few of the Excel raw formats and DateTime objects, which can then be further converted via any of the other DateTime::Format::* modules, or just with DateTimes methods.
If you happen to be dealing with dates between 1 Jan 1900 and 1 Mar 1900 please read the notes on epochs.
If youre wanting to handle actual spreadsheet files, you may find Spreadsheet::WriteExcel and Spreadsheet::ParseExcel of use.

libextractor 0.5.18a
libextractor is a library used to extract meta-data from files of arbitrary type. more>>
libextractor is a library that is used to extract meta-data from files of arbitrary type. It is designed to use helper-libraries to perform the actual extraction, and to be trivially extendable by linking against external extractors for additional file types. libextractor is part of the GNU project. Our official GNU website can be found at http://www.gnu.org/software/libextractor/. libextractor can be downloaded from this site or the GNU mirrors.
The goal is to provide developers of file-sharing networks or WWW-indexing bots with a universal library to obtain simple keywords to match against queries. libextractor contains a shell-command "extract" that, similar to the well-known "file" command, can extract meta-data from a file an print the results to stdout.
Currently, libextractor supports the following formats: HTML, PDF, PS, OLE2 (DOC, XLS, PPT), OpenOffice (sxw), StarOffice (sdw), DVI, MAN, MP3 (ID3v1 and ID3v2), OGG, WAV, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, DEB, RPM, TAR(.GZ), ZIP, ELF, REAL, RIFF (AVI), MPEG, QT and ASF.
Also, various additional MIME types are detected.
libextractor is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes various build problems and a crash with recent versions of libgsf.
vAn incomplete manual was added.

XML::Excel 0.02
XML::Excel is a Perl extension converting Excel files to XML. more>>
XML::Excel is a Perl extension converting Excel files to XML.
SYNOPSIS
use XML::Excel;
$excel_obj = XML::Excel->new();
$excel_obj = XML::Excel->new(%attr);

$status = $excel_obj->parse_doc(file_name, %attr);
$excel_obj->declare_xml(%attr);
$excel_obj->declare_doctype(%attr);
$excel_obj->print_xml(file_name, %attr);
XML::Excel is a new module which is going to be upgraded very often as my time permits. For the time being it uses Spreadsheet::ParseExcel module object default values to parse the (*.xls) document and then creates a perl data structure with xml tags names and data. At this point it does not allow for a write as you parse interface but is the first upgrade for the next release. I will also allow more access to the data structures and more documentation.
I will also put in more support for XML, since currently it only allows a simple XML structure. Currently you can modify the tag structure to allow for attributes. No DTD support is currently available, but will be implemented in a soon coming release. As the module will provide both: object and event interfaces, it will be used upon individual needs, system resources, and required performance. Ofcourse the DOM implementation takes up more resources and in some instances timing, its the easiest to use.

MDF audio extracter 0.1
MDF audio extracter project is a tool to extract audio data from MDF/MDS audio cd images to wav or raw files. more>>
MDF audio extracter project is a tool to extract audio data from MDF/MDS audio cd images to wav or raw files. Tracks will be extracted to the current directory and named track_[num].wav or track_[num].raw. Output can also be redirected to stdout to allow the audio data to be fed to an encoder or player directly.
You need both a .mds and .mdf file to be able to extract tracks. The .mds file contains the information about the tracks, while the .mdf file contains the actual data. They usually should have the same name (except for the extension ofcourse). This is case sensitive, so for example FileName is not the same as filename.
Usage: mdfextract [options] file.mds
Options:
-i output mds info instead of extracting
-r extract raw track data
-s output to stdout instead of file
-t < num > extract single track (num > 0)
-q quiet, no output
Version restrictions:
- Probably does not work on big endian archs.
