BBDB::Export is a Perl module to export data from The Insidious Big Brother Database.

SYNOPSIS

use BBDB::Export;

# export to LDIF
my $exporter = BBDB::Export::LDIF->new(
{
bbdb_file => "/path/to/.bbdb",
output_file => "export.ldif",
dc => "dc=geekfarm, dc=org",
}
);
$exporter->export();

# sync with ldap via ldapadd and ldapdelete
my $exporter = BBDB::Export::LDAP->new(
{
bbdb_file => "/path/to/.bbdb",
output_file => "/tmp/tempfile",
dc => "dc=geekfarm, dc=org",
ldappass => "supersecret",
}
);

$exporter->export();

# export to vcards
my $exporter = BBDB::Export::vCard->new(
{
bbdb_file => "/path/to/.bbdb",
output_dir => "/some/path/",
}
);

$exporter->export();

# create .mail_aliases
my $exporter = BBDB::Export::MailAliases->new(
{
bbdb_file => "/path/to/.bbdb",
output_file => ".mail_aliases",
}
);

$exporter->export();

This module was designed to export to your bbdb data to a wide array of formats, and also to make it easy to write new modules to export to new formats. Current export options include building an LDIF, vCard, or .mail_aliases, and automatically updating an ldap server.
For a fully functional command line converter, see the bbdb-export script that comes with this module.

BBDB::Export should not be used directly. Use any of the available subclasses using the examples above. For more examples of using BBDB::Export, see the test cases.

mpodder 2005-06-11

mpodder 2005-06-11

mpodder is a simple command line based podcast receiving (podcatching) tool. more>>
mpodder is a simple command line based podcast receiving (podcatching) tool. mpodder is written in perl and should run quite happily on Linux, the BSDs etc.

The intent is for mpodder to be called from cron. It will notify the user of new content by email or a kdialog/xmessage popup. mpoddercan download only feed items from the last n days, and feeds can be brought up to date withouot having to download all old items (using the "catchup" command).

Examples

Listing current feeds

To see what feeds mpodder is currently looking at, use the listoperation:

% mpodder list
http://www.lugradio.org/episodes.rss
http://www.thepodcastnetwork.com/linuxuser/feed/
http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rmhttp/downloadtrial/worldservice/godigital/rss.xml
http://radio.linuxquestions.org/syndicate/lqpodcast.php
http://feeds.feedburner.com/techpodcasts
http://linux.quicksurf.com/wp-rss2.php?cat=78
http://slashdotreview.com/wp-rss2.php
http://feeds.feedburner.com/twit
http://www.joshmcadams.com/perlcast/index.xml

If you provide a second parameter, the list will be filtered. All filteres in mpodder are using perl style regular expressions:

% mpodder list linux
http://www.thepodcastnetwork.com/linuxuser/feed/
http://radio.linuxquestions.org/syndicate/lqpodcast.php
http://linux.quicksurf.com/wp-rss2.php?cat=78

Adding feeds

Adding a feed to mpodder is simple, just use the add operation, followed by the URL of the feed:

% mpodder add http://lugradio.org/episodes.rss

Removing feeds

To remove a feed, use the remove parameter and a filter. All feeds matching the filter will be removed

% mpodder remove lugradio

Removed feed: http://www.lugradio.org/episodes.rss

Removed 1 feeds from list

Fetching feeds

Fetching everything (all new items in all feeds) is the default operation of mpodder. To do this simply omit any parameters on the command line:

% mpodder

You can specify a filter to only download feeds whose URL matches the filter:

% mpodder fetch lugradio

Catching up feeds

If youve just added a new feed, but dont want to download all the items in the feed, use the catchup operation. The parameter is a filter pm the URL of the feed:

% mpodder catchup lugradio

Caught up with 3 feeds

Checking what would be done

Most operations in mpodder can be simulated using the --pretend option. This is like -n in GNU make. Instead of actually doing the operation that is requested, a message is printed saying what would be done if the --pretend option were removed:

% mpodder --pretend fetch lugradio

would fetch: http://lugmirror.pcproff.com/lugradio-s2e17-060605-high.mp3

Getting more information on what mpodder is doing

The --verbose and --debug=n options can be used to make mpodder print out more information that usual about what it is doing. Nice for the curious. The parameter to --debug is an integer from 1 to 10.

hfloat (for huge floats) is a library package for doing calculations with floating point numbers of extreme precision. more>>
hfloat (for huge floats) is a library package for doing calculations with floating point numbers of extreme precision. hfloat library is optimised for computations with 1000 to several million digits.

The computations can be done in (almost) arbitrary radix. The library contains routines for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, n-th power, square root, n-th root, logarithm, exponentiation and more.

There are implementations of several superlinear converging algorithms for the computation of pi. The computation of 1 million decimal digits of pi takes about 15 seconds on an AMD64/2.2GHz.

Isabelle 2005

Isabelle 2005

Isabelle is a popular generic theorem prover developed at Cambridge University and TU Munich. more>>
Isabelle is a popular generic theorem prover developed at Cambridge University and TU Munich. Isabelle is a generic proof assistant. It allows mathematical formulas to be expressed in a formal language and provides tools for proving those formulas in a logical calculus. The main application is the formalization of mathematical proofs and in particular formal verification, which includes proving the correctness of computer hardware or software and proving properties of computer languages and protocols.
Compared with similar tools, Isabelles distinguishing feature is its flexibility. Most proof assistants are built around a single formal calculus, typically higher-order logic. Isabelle has the capacity to accept a variety of formal calculi. The distributed version supports higher-order logic but also axiomatic set theory and several other formalisms. See logics for more details.
Isabelle is a joint project between Lawrence C. Paulson (University of Cambridge, UK) and Tobias Nipkow (Technical University of Munich, Germany).
Main features:
- Interpretation of locale expressions in theories, locales, and proof contexts.
- Substantial library improvements (HOL, HOL-Complex, HOLCF).
- Proof tools for transitivity reasoning.
- General find_theorems command (by term patterns, as intro/elim/simp rules etc.).
- Commands for generating adhoc draft documents.
- Support for Unicode proof documents (UTF-8).
- Major internal reorganizations and performance improvements.

Teeter Torture project is a simple shooting game (similar to "Space Invaders", "Galaga" or "Galaxian"), but with a unique twist.

Your cannon is sitting atop a teeter totter. If it leans too far in either direction, a barrel of TNT explodes!

"Weight monsters" appear at the top of the screen, and randomly fall towards the teeter totter. If they attach to it, theyll weigh it down, making it more difficult to keep it balanced. (If they hit the cannon, it explodes and you lose a life.)

Note:This is New Breed Softwares rendition of a classic arcade game prototype of the same name, created in 1982 by Larry Hutcherson of Exidy.

Seldon 2005-05-15

Seldon 2005-05-15

Seldon is a C++ library for linear algebra. more>>
Seldon is a C++ library for linear algebra. Seldon provides matrix and vector structures, and some methods and functions for computations (linear algebra). Seldon is designed to be efficient and convenient, which is notably achieved thanks to template classes. Exception handling and several debug levels are helpful while coding.

Seldon provides several types of matrices: full matrices, sparse matrices, symmetric matrices, hermitian matrices and triangular matrices. Each type includes several formats. E.g. symmetric matrices may be stored as full matrices or in packed form (Blas format).

Seldon is fully interfaced with Blas (level 1, 2 and 3), except for Blas functions involving banded matrices (since this format is not available for the moment) and most rank operations. If Blas is not available to the user, a few alternative functions (same functions written in C++) may be used. Seldon includes many other features that are described in the documentation.

Seldon is supposed to be fully compliant with the C++ standard. Therefore, it can be compiled by GNU GCC (>=3.0; tested with version 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4) and by the Intel C++ compiler icc (tested with icc 7.1 and 8.0). No tests were conducted with proprietary compilers under Unix, but the compliance with the C++ standard should ensure portability. The last versions of Microsoft Visual C++ (from Visual C++ 2003) might compile Seldon according to its announced features, but it has not been tested.

As a next step, the Lapack interface is being completed. And any help is welcome!

Perl6::Export::Attrs - the Perl 6 is export(...) trait as a Perl 5 attribute. more>>
Perl6::Export::Attrs - the Perl 6 is export(...) trait as a Perl 5 attribute.
SYNOPSIS
package Some::Module;
use Perl6::Export::Attrs;
# Export &foo by default, when explicitly requested,
# or when the :ALL export set is requested...
sub foo :Export(:DEFAULT) {
print "phooo!";
}
# Export &var by default, when explicitly requested,
# or when the :bees, :pubs, or :ALL export set is requested...
# the parens after is export are like the parens of a qw(...)
sub bar :Export(:DEFAULT :bees :pubs) {
print "baaa!";
}
# Export &baz when explicitly requested
# or when the :bees or :ALL export set is requested...
sub baz :Export(:bees) {
print "baassss!";
}
# Always export &qux
# (no matter what else is explicitly or implicitly requested)
sub qux :Export(:MANDATORY) {
print "quuuuuuuuux!";
}
IMPORT {
# This block is called when the module is used (as usual),
# but it is called after any export requests have been handled.
# Those requests will have been stripped from its @_ argument list
}
Implements a Perl 5 native version of what the Perl 6 symbol export mechanism will look like.
Its very straightforward:
- If you want a subroutine to be capable of being exported (when explicitly requested in the use arguments), you mark it with the :Export attribute.
- If you want a subroutine to be automatically exported when the module is used (without specific overriding arguments), you mark it with the :Export(:DEFAULT) attribute.
- If you want a subroutine to be automatically exported when the module is used (even if the user specifies overriding arguments), you mark it with the :Export(:MANDATORY) attribute.
- If the subroutine should also be exported when particular export groups are requested, you add the names of those export groups to the attributes argument list.

explosions demo project is a SDL-based toy with fireworks in 3D space and neat visual effects.

"Explosions" is a simple SDL-based demo written in C which displays a faux-3D environment with small sprites.

Using the mouse, you can cause little sparks (or fireworks) to appear. Using the keyboard, you can change the angle of viewing.

You can also toggle a number of nifty effects, like blur, fade, dissolve, rotation and zoom.

The C source-code is fully commented, and should be useful for learning some simple SDL and interesting effects code.

xmppjca 2005-11-25

xmppjca project is a JCA 1.5 resource Adapter for managing connections to a XMPP (aka jabber) server from a J2EE application. more>>
xmppjca project is a JCA 1.5 resource Adapter for managing connections to a XMPP (aka jabber) server from a J2EE application server (for instance JBoss). The resource adapter has been written to conform to the JCA 1.5 specification but only JBoss has been tested. The RA uses the smack API to connect to XMPP servers.

The connector supports multiple connections to multiple servers and provides an abstraction of the underlying smack api that in addition to connection management provides support for extensions from su-smack which includes support for JEP-0060 aka publish subscribe.

Currently the RA only supports container managed security. Future versions will support bean managed security using JAAS. The goal is eventually support single-sign-on using SASL+GSSAPI to XMPP servers which support this mechanism.

Currently the RA does not support transactions. The precise way in which this will be supported is a matter of debate.

Installation

The project consists of two parts - xmppjca and xmppjca-spec. Build both artifacts. Deploy the rar-file in your J2EE-server. In a standard JBoss- installation this means copying the rar-file to $JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy. The xmppjca-spec-< version >.jar should be placed in the classpath of clients who need to use the resource adapter. In a standard JBoss-installation the easiest way is to copy the file to $JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib. In most situations the application server will hotdeploy the rar-file but not the jar- file so a restart is needed whenever you update the spec-file.

LVE is a frame and GOP accurate editing of MPEG1/2 video files. more>>
LVE is a frame and GOP accurate editing of MPEG1/2 video files. Differnet mpeg
formats are supported:

program streams ("PS") including DVD conform vob format,
single elemtary video streams ("ES").
multiplexed, packed elementary A/V streams ("PES"), often used by DVB recording software.
transport streams ("TS") - one video pid, but multiple audio pids. its a further DVB format
(restriction: no error detection/correction, program tables wont be analyzed).
PVA streams (experimental), used by some DVB recording MS-soft.

The cutting engine is based on a self coded frame-server (demuxer) whos working on a special frame-index, which guaranties exact seeking to every frame. The "libmpeg2" of "mpeg2dec-0.3.1"-package is used to decode video data. audio data will be decoded with help of "ffmpeg-0.4.x". Furthermore lve can use external audio files encoded in "WAV"-format.
