EXACT 1.41

EXACT 1.41

EXACT is a UNIX daemon that provides mail relay control. more>>
EXACT is a UNIX daemon that provides mail relay control. It is written for those who operate a mailserver and wish to allow mail relaying, conditionally on users authenticating to an IMAP or POP server.
It supports UW-imap, Qpopper, Cyrus, Perdition, TeaPOP, cucipop, EXIM, Postfix and Sendmail out of the box.
It will work as is with these POP/IMAP servers:
- UW-IMAPD
- Cyrus
- Courier (IMAPD and POPD)
- Perdition
- Qpopper
- TeaPOP
- Cubic Circles cucipop
and these MTAs:
- Exim
- Sendmail
- Postfix
Installation:
The `configure shell script attempts to guess correct values for various system-dependent variables used during compilation.
It uses those values to create a `Makefile in each directory of the package. It may also create one or more `.h files containing system-dependent definitions.
Finally, it creates a shell script `config.status that you can run in the future to recreate the current configuration, a file `config.cache that saves the results of its tests to speed up
reconfiguring, and a file `config.log containing compiler output (useful mainly for debugging `configure).
If you need to do unusual things to compile the package, please try to figure out how `configure could check whether to do them, and mail diffs or instructions to the address given in the `README so they can be considered for the next release.
If at some point `config.cache contains results you dont want to keep, you may remove or edit it.
The file `configure.in is used to create `configure by a program called `autoconf. You only need `configure.in if you want to change it or regenerate `configure using a newer version of `autoconf.
The simplest way to compile this package is:
1. `cd to the directory containing the packages source code and type `./configure to configure the package for your system.
If youre using `csh on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure instead to prevent `csh from trying to execute
`configure itself.
Running `configure takes awhile. While running, it prints some messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install to install the programs and any data files and documentation.
5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean. To also remove the files that `configure created (so you can compile the package for a different kind of computer), type `make distclean.
There is also a `make maintainer-clean target, but that is intended mainly for the packages developers. If you use it, you may have to get all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came with the distribution.
Enhancements:
- Bugfix release. Building without db didnt work.
- Also changed back to dbmnz format for the db, because the other format seemed to cause exim problems.

ExactImage 0.4.0

ExactImage 0.4.0

Exact Image is a fast (and soon modern and generic) image processing library. more>>
Exact Image is a fast (and soon modern and generic) image processing library. For a client we had to optimize the insane time imagemagick spent on certain image processing tasks. After the first code review it became clear that imagemagick was coded for anything but speed.
We protoyped the needed code in C++, just for speed, and archived processing times about 1/20 of what imagemagick consumes.
It is intended to become a modern, generic (template) based C++ library, when time permits. - Hopefully a viable alternative to ImageMagick.
Enhancements:
- Image segmentation and fuzzy image contour pattern matching were added.
- Support for rendering arbitrary vector pathes and text was added through Anti-Grain-Geometry integration.
- The X- and Y-axis flip optimizations were implemented for 16-bit channels, as well as functions to change contrast, brightness, gamma, hue, saturation, and lightness, and invert images.
- The convolution matrix was exported to the CLI econvert.

kmp_search 0.02

kmp_search 0.02

kmp_search provides a binary exact string search utility. more>>
kmp_search provides a binary exact string search utility.

kmp_search is an extremely fast exact string search utility that can be used to search for exact strings or patterns in binary and text files and devices.

It can search for multiple strings concurrently, but is much faster when searching for strings one-by-one.

The starting byte offset of each match is reported to stdout.

Because it is extremely fast, it can be used in a data recovery process after a multi-gigabyte file system crash.

The Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm is used for the search, which gives a total time of O(file length + pattern length).

To compile:

# gcc-3.0 -O9 -mcpu=i686 -o kmp_search_fast -W -Wall kmp_search.c

EverCrack 1.1.0

EverCrack 1.1.0

EverCrack is a cryptanalysis engine. more>>
EverCrack project is a cryptanalysis engine. The overall design goal is to systematically break down complex ciphers into their simplex components for cryptanalysis (by the kernel).
The kernel consists of an algebraic design (comparison and reduction) for breaking uniliteral, monoalphabetic ciphers instantaneously.
Currently, it can break a 4000-word cipher in milliseconds. EverCrack currently has multi-language support for the user interface and cracking encryption in other language dictionaries (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Dutch, and Portuguese).
Enhancements:
- The dictionary set has been changed to lists of words by exact pattern.
- This reduces the search space completely and increases the speed by approximately 30%.
- Older dictionaries will not work with this release.

Kmenc15 0.04

Kmenc15 0.04

Kmenc15 is an advanced MEncoder frontend, generally designed to be a VirtualDub replacement for Linux. more>>
Kmenc15 is an advanced Qt/KDE MEncoder frontend, generally designed to be a VirtualDub replacement for Linux. It is most useful for editing and encoding large high quality AVIs capped from TV.

It allows cutting and merging at exact frames, applying any MPlayer/MEncoder filter, with preview.

It can also create shell scripts instead of doing the encode itself, so MEncoder is not essential for it to run. MPlayer is essential though, without it the program will not even open files and cannot create shell scripts without the files.

The program is not quite complete, still a few features disabled, none of which are horribly essential. It does not support opening MPEGs. Only AVIs.

GooeySAX is a cross-platform tool that wraps an underlying SAX parser (Apache Xerces, to be exact) in a Java Swing interface. You can use GooeySAX to parse XML documents on your local file system or across the network to determine their Well-Formedness.

With the optional Validity setting enabled, you may also validate your document against a DTD. New in version 2.0 -- W3C XML Schema validation support as well!
GooeySAX is the perfect tool for the web author who cares!

Checking your XHTML documents validity either locally or remotely is a snap, and GooeySAXs detailed error messages let you know about those embarassing validation errors immediately.

GooeySAX is easy to use... select an XML document for parsing in one of three ways:

Type a URL into GooeySAXs System ID location bar.
Select File menu -> Browse... to browse for a file on your local system.
Drag a file from you local system onto the GooeySAX window.

Then select the Validate checkbox if you wish to validate your document against a DTD. How do you select the DTD against which to validate? Easy! Simply declare the DTD in your documents Doctype Declaration or declare the XML Schema instance as normal... GooeySAX will figure out the rest!

Finally, click the Parse button and watch the results appear.

if_rate measures and prints some statistics about the rate of traffic through network interfaces (like iptraf).
This is a simple program who read from /proc/net/dev and write some real-time statistics about the trafic on interfaces. You can use it free (and without waranties), i hope you will find it usefull and you will use it only for moral .
These are the known bugs:
- some interface drivers have bugs in the update of the counter, not my fault...
- some drivers have time counters updated at more than 1 second interval, to have exact averages you must set an interval much bigger than this interval (example: "./if_rate 10")
Enhancements:
- the rate is more accured, now I use gettimeofday() for exact time measuring.
- more space for gigabit counters
- accept argument - number of seconds between counters is settable

FreeCol 0.7.1

FreeCol 0.7.1

FreeCol is a Civilization-like game in which the player has to conquer the New World. more>>
FreeCol team aims to create an Open Source version of Colonization. At first well try to make an exact clone of Colonization.
The visuals will be brought up to date with more recent standards but will remain clean, simple and functional. Certain new features will be implemented but the gameplay and the rules will be exactly the same as the original game. Examples of modern features are: an isometric map and multiplayer support.
This clone will be developed incrementally and result in FreeCol 1.0.0 which will be an almost exact Colonization clone. Incremental development basically means that well add features one at a time. This allows us to have a running program at all times and also to release an unfinished but working game once in a while.
Once FreeCol 1.0.0 is finished well start working towards FreeCol 2.0.0. FreeCol 2 will go beyond the original Colonization and will have many new features, it will be an implementation of our (and our users) image of what Colonization 2 would have been.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a bug that caused native units to be frozen on the map board and adds a few new features.
