Pentoo LiveCD 2005.1
Pentoo is a Linux LiveCD, it means that you can boot a linux environment on any x86 based PC. more>>
It is like KNOPPIX except that Pentoo is based on the Gentoo distribution and is oriented penetration testing. You can view the list of all available tools here .
Well, I know there is already many liveCD that provide penetration testing and so on, but they dont suit my needs. In fact, during a pen-test lab, I found the other LiveCD so slow...
I like Gnome and Gentoo so I decided to make my own distro and there it is.
Main features:
- Nessus, Metasploit and Fingerprints db upgradable ! You can put them in RAM or on a usb stick.
- You can save the root directory to a usbstick and backup all your preferences, etc.
- It is faster : based on the Gentoo distribution, all the code as been optimized. I choosed to optimize the code for pentium3 cpu as I think that intel based cpu are more used than AMDs ones. Of course, this will not break the compatibility with AMD proc, it will just run faster on pentium-3 or 4 CPUs.
- Analyser : Dsniff, Ethereal, Ettercap, Ntop, ...
- Bluetooth : BlueSniff, Redfang, ...

explosions demo 2005.07.31
explosions demo project is a SDL-based toy with fireworks in 3D space and neat visual effects. more>>
"Explosions" is a simple SDL-based demo written in C which displays a faux-3D environment with small sprites.
Using the mouse, you can cause little sparks (or fireworks) to appear. Using the keyboard, you can change the angle of viewing.
You can also toggle a number of nifty effects, like blur, fade, dissolve, rotation and zoom.
The C source-code is fully commented, and should be useful for learning some simple SDL and interesting effects code.
ProMEPIS Linux 2005.b04
ProMEPIS Linux is a Linux OS based on Debian that can be run from your CD drive without installation. more>>
Where it shines is its easy, 100% "point and click" installation, and automatic detection of not only "normal" computer hardware but also popular webcams, the latest wireless network cards, "Winmodems" that usually work only with Windows, digital cameras, scanners, and other devices.
The difference between SimplyMEPIS and ProMEPIS is that SimplyMEPIS will continue to be a freely available desktop MEPIS bootable CD and ProMEPIS will designate an upcoming multi-CD packaged version of MEPIS.

IEs for Linux 2.0.5/2.5 Beta 6
IEs for Linux is a simple Bash Script program that installs Internet Explorer 6, 5.5 and 5 on Linux using Wine. more>>
What is the magic?
The magic of IEs4Linux is to use full browsers downloads instead of using that boring install process. The script automatically downloads full versions of IE from the Evolt Browser Archive. Then installation is done completely behind the scenes! You dont need to click on anything to install IE6, IE5.5 and IE5 - with FlashPlayer 8!
Who is the target public?
WebDesigners that want to move to Linux but still need to test their sites on IE. The IEs installations are smaller than usual because they include only the necessary files to have a good test browser (there is no Outlook, Media Player etc). Please, dont use any of these IEs to navigate!! Get Firefox!
Whats New in 2.0.5 Stable Release:
- The mirror for downloading MSIE was changed.
Whats New in 2.5 Beta 6 Development Release:
- New: Kommander GUI finished (advanced dialog)
- New: IE7 proxy configuration hack (see below)
- Improved: download output
- Improved: other programs should find IE now (as Jim suggested here)
- Improved: all temp files now go to ~/.ies4linux/tmp to avoid complications
- Other bug fixes

DBD::Informix 2005.02
DBD::Informix is a Perl module witj IBM Informix Database Driver for Perl DBI. more>>
SYNOPSIS
use DBI;
You should also read the documentation for DBI perldoc DBI as this document qualifies what is stated there. Note that this document was last fully updated for the DBI Version 0.85 specification, but the code requires features from DBI Version 1.14. Consequently, both this document and DBD::Informix are probably considerably out of line with some of the new features and minor details of the DBI specification.
hfloat 2005.10.23
hfloat (for huge floats) is a library package for doing calculations with floating point numbers of extreme precision. more>>
The computations can be done in (almost) arbitrary radix. The library contains routines for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, n-th power, square root, n-th root, logarithm, exponentiation and more.
There are implementations of several superlinear converging algorithms for the computation of pi. The computation of 1 million decimal digits of pi takes about 15 seconds on an AMD64/2.2GHz.
Seldon 2005-05-15
Seldon is a C++ library for linear algebra. more>>
Seldon provides several types of matrices: full matrices, sparse matrices, symmetric matrices, hermitian matrices and triangular matrices. Each type includes several formats. E.g. symmetric matrices may be stored as full matrices or in packed form (Blas format).
Seldon is fully interfaced with Blas (level 1, 2 and 3), except for Blas functions involving banded matrices (since this format is not available for the moment) and most rank operations. If Blas is not available to the user, a few alternative functions (same functions written in C++) may be used. Seldon includes many other features that are described in the documentation.
Seldon is supposed to be fully compliant with the C++ standard. Therefore, it can be compiled by GNU GCC (>=3.0; tested with version 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4) and by the Intel C++ compiler icc (tested with icc 7.1 and 8.0). No tests were conducted with proprietary compilers under Unix, but the compliance with the C++ standard should ensure portability. The last versions of Microsoft Visual C++ (from Visual C++ 2003) might compile Seldon according to its announced features, but it has not been tested.
As a next step, the Lapack interface is being completed. And any help is welcome!
Anaquiz 27.01.2005

It shows 20 anagrams and you must find as many solutions as you can in five minutes.
It makes it possible to systematically master the whole dictionary if you are ambitious enough.
glScope 2005.08.12
glScope is an audio oscilloscope program I wrote to be used in a physics lab at CSM. more>>
Controls are as follows:
Left mouse button: Pan
Mid mouse button: Move trigger
Right mouse button: Scale
Space bar: Start/stop recording
t: Toggle trigger mode (rising, falling, off)
p: Print data
Esc: Exit
When you print the plot data by pressing "P", two columns of text are printed to stdout. The first column is time, the second is amplitude. The easiest way to capture this data to a file is via the command line:
./glscope > data.csv
Since there is no interface to change the audio input device that is displayed, youll actually have to change some code if you want any other channel besides the default recording device. The important line in the code looks like this:
pcm_name = strdup("plughw:0,0");
I guess youll have to read about ALSA to figure out how to change that string.
Feel free to email me with any questions.
