This bonus pack includes everything you need to update UT2004 to the most current version, including the latest patch, and the content from the first (Editors Choice Edition) bonus pack for UT2004. You can install this bonus pack on any version of UT2004.
The MegaPack includes the following maps:
Assault:
AS-BP2-Acatana
Intense space fighting and on-foot combat combine in this recreation of the historic Skaarj invasion of the Acatana asteroid belt.
AS-BP2-Jumpship
Be part of the elite team that infiltrated and hijacked the first warp capable Jumpship.
AS-BP2-Outback
City slickers just took over the outback’s top brewery – get over there pronto and stop the production of their tasteless Zero Beer before it takes over Oz!
AS-BP2-SubRosa
Fight your way into a Liandri research facility and steal the original plans for the Redeemer.
AS-BP2-Thrust
A recreation of the infamous destruction of the Saturn IX rocket where a team of rebel fighters launched it unguided and half fueled into hostile waters.
CTF:
CTF-BP2-Concentrate
Tall spires tower over this Capture the Flag battle set on a derelict outpost deep in the Elorean Seas.
CTF-BP2-Pistola
This twin complex of concrete and metal combines the beauty of nature with the harsh lines of industrial architecture to create a fierce battle arena.

DM-BP2-Calandras
The courtyards of Calandras were once beautiful and welcoming. While the Temple’s interiors have been preserved, a new less-inviting use has been found for the exteriors.
DM-BP2-GoopGod
For centuries the Nali monks managed to keep this sacred burial ground hidden until Liandri satellites discovered the location during a routine satellite sweep. The area was mined, and what remained was converted into a tournament arena, corpses and all.
The content from the first bonuspack, also included, is:
Onslaught:
ONS-Adara
ONS-IslandHop
ONS-Tricky
ONS-Urban
Three new vehicles:
SPMA (Self Propelled Mobile Artillery)
The SPMA is a two person vehicle, with the driver controlling a long range artillery piece. Alt-fire deploys the spotter camera. Enemies will want to shoot down the spotter camera as soon as they see it, to keep the SPMA from raining destruction from afar. An AVRiL at the spotter camera will automatically re-direct toward the SPMA if it ever becomes visible to the AVRiL.
Paladin
The Paladin is a defense focused vehicle, with a powerful energy projectile cannon and a defensive shield alt-fire. Firing the cannon while the shield is deployed will heavily damage nearby players.
Cicada
The two-man Cicada ground attack bomber is a powerful weapon against ground targets, but is easy prey for Raptors. The pilot can fire missiles, or use the alt-fire to specify a target. While holding alt-fire, multiple missiles are loaded up, and released when alt-fire is released. These missiles will all track toward the specified target location, so the alt-fire can be used to avoid enemy fire while loading up missiles. The second seat in the Cicada is an energy beam turret located on the belly of the Cicada. Its alt-fire is chaff that can be used to confuse incoming AVRiLs.
Six new characters:
Mekkor (Skaarj)
Mekkor is from the Black Fist Clan, sworn enemies of the Iron Skull Clan. Severely injured in battle, he is testing his new cybernetic armor in the Tournament.
Skrilax (Skaarj)
Skrilax is from the Black Fist Clan, sworn enemies of the Iron Skull Clan. Alongside his brother Mekkor, he was severely injured while fighting the Iron Skull Clan."
Barktooth (Iron Guard)
Barktooth would rather rip an opponent to shreds with his bare hands than fight from afar. He also finds close range Flak shots very satisfying."
Karag (Iron Guard)
Before joining the Iron Guard, Karag honed his weapon handling skills during a long stint as a Marshall for the Terran Colonial Authority. His style and panache already have the the Tournament audience abuzz."
Kragoth (Necris)
After an absence of several years, the Necris are preparing a return to the Tournament. Known as the Star Slayer, Kragoth is a dread Necris Phayder assassin. He is rumored to have single handedly killed the entire crew of an ICV Star Cruiser."
Thannis (Necris)
After an absence of several years, the Necris are preparing a return to the Tournament. Thannis is participating to scout the competition."

Open Quartz 2004.08.01
Open Quartz is a replacement for the Quake 1 game data under the terms of the GNU General Public License. more>>
So what is Open Quartz? Basically, it is a replacement for the Quake 1 game data under the terms of the GNU General Public License. In addition, GPLed tools are developed to support developers of content for the Quake engine.
On 31 May 1996, id Software released the game Quake, which became a huge success. In 1999, the sourcecode for Quake was released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
Thus peolple could improve the engine and use the engine to create their own games. Soon after the source release, the QuakeForge project was startet to create a cross-platform engine that would appeal to many people.
But having only a GPLed engine but non-free data files was unsatisfiyng so the QuakeForge team also startet Open Quartz.
Though being abandoned for many years, the project is going again thanks to new and devoted developers. But your help is still appreciated, there is a lot to do.
Why is having a free engine and non-free data so unsatisfying? Quake can still be easily aquired from the id Store and a Shareware Version is also available.
Yeah, thats true. Quake is a great game and we encourage everyone to buy it. Combined with up-to-date engines like Darkplaces, QuakeForge and Tenebrae its still a great experience. The reasons why OpenQuartz is developed lie not with the availability of Quake nor is Quake a bad game.
Its just that both a free engine and a free data set result in a lot more options and possibilities for developers and the end-user. Its for example not possible to ship Quake with any free Linux distribution like Debian.
But you can do that with OpenQuartz. Also, when you want to create an own game using one of the advanced Quake engines, you have to recreate everything from scratch. With OpenQuartz, you have a lot of free content already availabe which means a lot less work. Also, creating standalone games from existing Quake Mods is now easily possible thanks to Open Quartz.

NavynOS 2004.07
Navyn OS is a gnu/linux distribution based on Gentoo. more>>
NavynOS is a Linux distribution based on Gentoo.
The heart of Navyn OS is kernel 2.6.8.1 and I tried to put the newest versions of software on the cdrom. There is for example xorg 6.7.0, mplayer 1.0, and gimp2.0. Fluxbox is the default window manager, because it is very fast and comfortable, the memory requirements are minimal in contrast to such slow and bloated window managers like KDE or GNOME.
The system was also designed to be easy for iso customizing, so you can add programs to the cdrom image using special scripts. While the system is booting it configures all your hardware ( especially network cards and sound cards ), and all the programs have small hardware requirements.
On the cd there are complete library headers so it is great for compiling programs. I tried to include many programs connected with security and network. There are for example sniffers like dsniff, tcpdumpm and also port scanners: nmap, nessus.

Free Help Desk 1.08a
Help desk software is vital to the success of your help desk and customer support staff. more>>
Help desk software is vital to the success of your help desk and customer support staff. Tracking and responding to help desk calls is faster and more efficient when using well designed help desk software.
The design of this software comes from many years of help desk experience working in a help desk environment. All the basic tools for running a successful help desk are included in this help desk software package.
Help desk software should be used in any organization whether its a large corporation or a small startup company. Why should my company implement a helpdesk software solution? Some of the benefits of helpdesk software are improved customer service, faster response times and lower information technology costs. Lets outline these three areas in greater detail.
When a user contacts the computer support professional in your organization, what steps are taken? Does it depend on who answered the phone? Do the immediately drop any task and visit your desk? Do they jot your information down on a note pad? Do they attempt to resolve the issue on the phone at great length? What criteria merits the call be moved to another member of the IT staff, or merits a call the software vendor?
All these questions can be answered in some way within the use of help desk software. Helpdesk software forces your IT staff to handle help desk calls in a structured manner that can be counted on each time. When a helpdesk call is received, it should be immediately be entered into the help desk software database, even if it is easily answered.
At this point there is now a record of the call, and this allows other IT staff to view the contents of the problem and makes it a simple task for other IT staff members to offer solutions. This also prevents the call from being lost in the shuffle if staff is busy when the call is received. Your general staff will have much more confidence that when they place that call to your help desk staff, their call will be handled in a structured method to ensure their satisfaction.
If they can continue to work, they will not feel the need to keep calling or checking with IT staff on the progress, or worry that their call will not be answered in a reasonable amount of time. This allows them to focus on their tasks, and not be concerned with the status of their call.
Many help desk software solutions offer a self-help method, allowing the staff members in your company to submit a helpdesk request directly into the help desk system. (granted their computer is functioning enough for this) This feature greatly streamlines the process, and can increase response time for all users. Help desk support staff will not be interrupted by the phone call and have to stop working on another issue to record the call information.
In fact, it should be encouraged by the IT staff to submit all request possible with this method. When a request is entered into the system, it allows any available support personnel to respond to the request. It also allows support personnel to diversify calls, so if a calls is shown to be about a particular problem that a staff member has greater expertise with, that staff member will likely be able to solve the problem much quicker. Once each calls is resolved, the solution will then become available for future reference.
This is one of the greatest benefits an organization will receive from using a help desk system. This allows newer support staff to be able to answer many questions by simply searching the database for other calls. Also prevent 2 support staff from having to research for the same solution, this benefits in much faster response time for the end user.
Everything mentioned above will contribute to the overall quality of service in your organization, happier staff and faster response time will mean lower costs and higher productivity for your organization.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a bug found in the main form that caused some performance problems in certain system configurations.

DB_eSession 2004-08-08
DB_eSession provides a class that securely stores PHP sessions in a MySQL database. more>>
DB_eSession provides a class that securely stores PHP sessions in a MySQL database.
DB_eSession is a feature-packed PHP class that stores session data in a MySQL database rather than files. It is powerful, designed with security in mind, and is easy to utilize.
The code contains lots of comments, and it comes with full documentation and examples of how to use the class including a basic authentication login/logout process.
It includes member functions useful (to webmasters) for monitoring or viewing, deleting, and altering sessions validity for the case of locking one or more sessions upon detection of unauthorized use.
Main features:
- General features:
- Stores session data in a MySQL table using PHPs built-in session handler.
- Built-in handling of session expiration and cleanup.
- Supports the changes of session related configuration settings (inc. PHP5).
- Allows for normal or persistent MySQL database connections.
- Access to opened MySQL resource connection to use in your script.
- Accepts a passed database resource link to use as the DB connection.
- Supports session IDs between 12 and 32 characters long.
- Custom or changeable database, table and column names.
- An option to create new session IDs (you supply, class or PHP builds).
- Can initiate buffered output (using ob_start) within the class.
- A session_start() automatically initiated within the class.
- Can send Cache-Control: header output within the class (fixes IE6 bug).
- Ability to retrieve a specific sessions expiration date and time.
- Retrieve current session life setting in seconds or minutes.
- Retrieve a numeric total of the number of active and inactive sessions in table.
- Facility to make assignment and retrieval of session variables easier.
- Ability to create manual URIs and links that includes session name and ID.
- The ability to retrieve what the MySQL server version number is.
- An adequate form of encode/decode member functions are included and used automatically when libmcrypt is not installed.
- Security features:
- Standard user inactivity time-out handled automatically.
- Absolute user logoff time-out capability (session will be terminated no matter what after a number of designated minutes/seconds have elapsed).
- Ability to lock and unlock a particular session or all sessions. When a session is made locked it is immediately not available for use.
- User to session verification using IP address and browser information.
- Security level (code) clearance for each session/web page.
- Encrypt/decrypt as desired each session field.
- Encrypt/decrypt an extra session field to compare against original (to detect against possible tampering).
- Encrypt/decrypt the whole session data in the table (essentially obscuring session variable names in table). Can be used in combination with per session field encryption, resulting in double encryption security.
- A new encryption Initialization Vector is created every time values change.
- Ability to manually delete a particular session or all sessions.
- The users IP address and web browser is recorded as part of the session for tracing information.
- Other features:
- Support for multiple language error and warning messages.
- Support of a default language as well as current active language settings.
- Basic or detailed (with SQL syntax) error/warning reporting.
- Buffered error and warning messages.
- Option for class to stop execution or not upon encountering an error/warning. Class can display errors/warnings automatically or control in your script.
- Can select font color and size separately for error and warning messages.
- Code has lots of comments and formatted within 82 characters wide.
- Full documentation (only provided in English) is included.
- Code use examples provided, including a basic authentication (login/logout) process.
- SQL text file provided for creating the MySQL session table.

Ice Hockey Manager 0.3
Ice Hockey Manager is a hockey simulator. more>>
Ice Hockey Manager is a hockey simulator which has the ultimate goal of creating a game that offers the most realistic simulation experience possible. Our focus is more on substance than style.
While we want the game to be intuitive, we arent looking to compete with the flashy 3D graphics you might see in games from EA or Sega. Theyve pretty much cornered the market when it comes to pretty graphics.
Were more interested in games that challenge your mind and not your hand-eye coordination. We plan to take hockey simulators (and perhaps sports simulators in general) to places theyve never gone before, The way we see it, the possibilities are limitless, much like real life hockey.
While IHM may not have photorealistic facial features for every player model in the NHL we do strive to create a game that really does make you feel like you are at the helm of your own hockey franchise.
We first started developing IHM in late 2001 and the development team consisted of two members, Bernhard von Gunten and Arik Dasen. The first real release of the game was version 0.1.1 in January of 2002. The game was playable but still very basic, more intended as a framework for future development. In July of 2002, version 0.1.2 was released with many updates to the game but after this release the project essentially went on hiatus until September/October of 2004.
Up until that time the project hadnt garnered much interest from the open source community, either the project was too localized to Swiss-style hockey or it perhaps just didnt get the exposure needed to get people to jump onboard, whatever the reason, IHM seemed to be more of a labor of love than a project that perpetuated itself. Fortunately, in October 2004, development kicked back into gear and all sorts of new and exciting features started to take shape. Some of these features include computer AI, multiplayer-support, trading/transfers, sponsoring/finances, full season/playoffs simulation, etc.
And the IHM team is currently working towards version 0.3, which has been dubbed a "Preview Release" to demonstrate a fully-operational playable game. Will this Preview Release set any kind of standard as far as hockey simulators are concerned? No, not yet. In fact, many elements within the game are still rather simplified, such as in-game simulation (which will begin development post-0.2), but we hope the Preview Release will compel other open source developers to help out with the project as there is still a lot to be done before IHM can be considered a complete game.
This website is intended to both introduce you to the game as well as to encourage you to participate and/or contribute to this project in some way. Whether you are a Java developer, a graphic artist, a beta tester, or something else entirely, we want to hear from you. IHM cant build itself, and while we have invested many hours into the games development we still have our limitations as to what we can achieve, both in time and resources. So if you think you can help out in some way, please let us know. Ideally, you should be a fan of hockey, but thats about the only prerequisite.
Main features:
- Game controller, based on a game calendar.
- Multiuser framework
- League framework (Swiss style leagues implemented, including playoffs and relegations).
- Teams, with statistics and informations.
- Players with attributes, statistics, contracts and informations.
- Simulated matches with generated plays and "radio" output.
- Training
- Injuries
- Contracts framework
- Sponsoring framework, based on contracts
- Financial framework
- Real Impacts (on teams & players)
- Transfers (Swiss style)
- Infrastructure framework (Arena implemented)
- Prospects
- Assistants
- and more ...
Technical stuff:
- Written in 100% pure Java
- Running under Linux and Windows and every other Java 1.5 platform
- Swing GUI
- More than 200 java classes
- More than 30000 lines of code
