electricsheep software owes its name to Philip K. Dicks novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It realizes the collective dream of sleeping computers from all over the internet.
When the screen-saver is activated, the screen goes black and an animated sheep appears. Behind the scenes, the screen-saver contacts a server and joins the parallel computation of new sheep.
Every fifteen minutes 24/7 a new sheep is born and distributed to all clients for display. Each sheep is an animated fractal flame.
The Interpretation of Dreams contains an artistic, conceptual, and technical explanation, or you can watch the streaming video documentary. Also available is a ten page academic paper to appear in EvoMusArt05.

- The new libpng api is used, and libpng errors are handled properly.

Elfelli is a tool to simulate and visualize electric flux lines around arbitrary positioned, electrically charged bodies.
The project is able to export PNG files of the current canvas. Elfelli is written in C++ and uses gtkmm.
Compiling:
To compile Elfelli, you need SCons. In many distributions you will also need the development package of gtkmm (in Debian this is libgtkmm-2.4-dev).
Compiling itself is very simple:
$ scons
Installation:
To install Elfelli, simply type:
$ scons install
By default, it is installed in /usr/local. If you want to change that prefix, alter the install command to:
$ scons install prefix=/install/prefix
Enhancements:
- Its now possible to save and load the current scene as well as changing a bodys charge.

Templayer is a layered template library for Python. Templayer currently supports only HTML generation, but its simple design is easily extended to support other file formats.
Templayer was created to offer an alternative to the more common ways of generating dynamic HTML: embedding code within the HTML (PHP etc.) , or embedding HTML within code (traditional CGI).
Neither of these methods allow for a clean separation of the form, or layout, of a page and the function of page generation. Instead of mixing HTML and Python, two rich and extremely expressive languages, we can add a small amount of syntax to each and keep the two separate and coherent.
Enhancements:
- Added a django_form convenience function for using Templayer with the Django web frameworks FormWrapper objects.
- Added an allow_degenerate parameter to Template.__init__. If set to True then a template file that is missing a contents block will be accepted and not cause an exception to be raised.
- Added a special layer name * that treats the entire contents of a template file as a layer.
- Added two new HTML Markup elements: - (pluralize,count,singular_markup,plural_markup) inserts singular_markup if count equals one, and plural_markup otherwise. - (&,entity) inserts the given HTML entity where valid entity values include "gt", "#161" and "#xA9".
- FileLayer.close now returns the file object to which it wrote.
- This simplifies the code required to use Templayer in Django view functions.
- Fixed a really obvious bug in the html_href function.

American Express Expense Report to QIF Converter project is a utility that converts American Express expense reports into QIF.
There are three main reasons:
1. American Express only offers QIF files for the last 6 months of activity whereas the expense reports go back 2 years. You can also run a report with a custom 1- to 12-month time period within 24 months of the current calendar month.
2. American Express QIF files have limited to no "categorization" whereas the expense report categorizes each transaction with a "Merchant Category" and "Subcategory".
3. American Express QIF files do not indicate which credit card in a multi-card account performed the transaction.
Main features:
- Inserts card owner and last 5 digits of the credit card in the memo field
- Reads config file for user defined rules so transactions can be automatically mapped to different accounts in your accounting software. Mapping can be based on:
- Credit card owner
- Vendor name
- AMEX "Merchant Category" and "Subcategory"
- Any combination of the above
- Sanitizes and cleans up vendor names
- Has the ability to add a prefix to all vendor names

Midirecord is a simple command-line application to record a MIDI file with your MIDI keyboard.

Midirecord project also features automatic recording to a MIDI file when you play electric piano, and thus it may be used as a "recording daemon".

ExifTagger project is a perl gtk2 app that provides a convenient graphical interface to tagging images.
Unlike most other tools, this inserts the tag information into the images as Exif, so they will permanently be part of the digital image. The interface is pretty intuitive, though more information will come with time.

Enhancements:
- Rotation buttons that set the Orientation EXIF attribute were added.
- The cursor is set to an hourglass when loading images.
- A "Loading..." image is overlaid when loading the next image.

OpenURL Referrer enables you to insert OpenURL links in a web page.

Inserts OpenURL links in a web page using the bibliographic data available on that page.

OpenURL is a type of URL that contains resource metadata for use primarily in libraries. The National Information Standards Organization (NISO), has developed OpenURL and its data container (the ContextObject) as international ANSI standard Z39.88. On 22 June 2006, OCLC was named the maintenance agency for the standard.

The OpenURL standard is designed to support mediated linking from information resources (sources) to library services (targets). A "link resolver", or "link-server", parses the elements of an OpenURL and provides links to appropriate services as identified by a library.

A source is generally a bibliographic citation or bibliographic record used to generate an OpenURL. A target is a resource or service that helps satisfy users information needs. Examples include full-text repositories; abstracting, indexing, and citation databases; online library catalogs; and other Web resources and services.

An OpenURL consists of a base URL, which addresses the users institutional link-server, and a query-string, which contains the bibliographic data, typically in the form of key-value pairs.
