Erika Educational is a a fully fledged and fully functional real-time operating system (RTOS) for embedded devices.

Erika Educational is a reduced GPL-licensed release of Erika Enterprise: ideal for educational purposes, free software, and available for download at no cost.

Erika Educational should not be seen as a reduced set of Erika Enterprise. Therefore, please do not consider Erika Educational for evaluating the characteristics and performance of Erika Enterprise. While the two originated from the same source code base, Erika Enterprise has been completely redesigned and rewritten to meet industrial needs, whereas Erika Educational have been adapted to 8 bit educational architectures.

Impressions based on Erika Educational should not be applied to Erika Enterprise, as their feature sets are different, and they are, in practice, two different projects, with two different code bases.

GioveLUG Educational is a custom distro based on PuppyLinux 2.11. This is my first distro and with my LUG we delivered it to a kids fun house to let the kids learning computer loving free software.

Basically, this distro is a Puppy 2.11 with other kids software installed such as:

- TuxType2
- TuxMath
- GCompris
- SuperTux
- TuxPaint

I also installed a couple of dotpup packages such as the following:

- Vnc with GUI (by Rarsa)
- MU Translate Menu (by Mark Ulrich)

Into the directory usr/share/backgrounds you can find some wallpaper for your desktop.

It is very simple to translate menu in italian if you like it, just use MU translation program with the file it.lng you can find onto Localization forum.

EduKator is an educational program made for KDE. I made this software as a part of my thesis. Im in last year of high school.

I want to help people gain knowledge about physical and mathematical statements in a way that it is fun to do. The theory is explained and it is possible to make exercises.
My aim is to make a nice program that can be used in schools and at home.

The Pure Perl RayCaster is a small simple Ray casting application written completely in Perl without using any 3D API library or OpenGL. For the GUI, Pure Perl RayCaster uses wxPerl (WxWindows port to Perl).

Pure Perl RayCaster can load a 3D object from a file (in RAW format), display the object in wireframe perspective view, allow to orbit and zoom your camera and produce a user defined size ray casting image of the current view in a predefined color theme with or without smooth shading.

Pure Perl RayCaster is not a professional production tool for 3D image generation. It is well suited for educational purposes, in order to study, understand, tweak and try well known fundamental 3D Computer Graphics techniques.

TheCurves is an application that plots a parameterized family of curves based on algebraic formulas specified by the user. This project is meant as an educational tool for mathematics, physics, and engineering.
When the program is run as an applet in a Web page, the plot parameters and formulas are configurable by HTML and dynamically scriptable, so that the applet can be initialized to present a specific plot when the page is opened or to change plots when the user clicks on a control in the Web page.
Enhancements:
- This version now uses the ant build system.

ulog-acctd is a userspace network accounting daemon which generates log files of network traffic for accounting purposes.

I had tried to implement support for the newer packet interface at device level (supported since Linux kernel versions 2.2, see cite{packet(7)}), but I found that it lost packets in high load situations. Patches against @command{net--acct} are available if you request.

X-Digital Disco System (X-DDS) is the graphical frontend for the Digital Disco System. X-Digital Disco System is based on the XMMS Multimedia Player.

About Digital Disco System:

Digital Disco System is a client/server-based audio player for disco purposes as well as at-home usage.

It has an console frontend (usable in shell scripts) and an X-fontend in the style of XMMS.
