Debarchiver is a tool to sort debian packages in a automated way so that you can publish debian packages in a easy way. more>>
Debarchiver is a tool to sort debian packages in a automated way so that you can publish debian packages in a easy way.
Main features:
- Sort debian packages in the "potato" way.
- Generates the Packages and Sources files.
- Prepared for web publishing.
The idea is to make a simpler version of the Debian katie software that is useable by system administrators and software publishers. Of course you should try to get your software in the Debian distribution but sometimes that is not possible or even good.
Debarchiver is licensed under GPL.
Enhancements:
- Allows for signed release files (currently only ones without a password).

EndoShield 1.2
Endoshield is a fully configurable easy to use firewall. more>>
Endoshield is a fully configurable easy to use firewall, which will run under the 2.2 Linux kernel (ipchains), or the 2.4 Linux Kernel (iptables). It is aimed at home users who have no knowledge of how to make their own firewalls, but can also be configured for server machines, or for machines running on a local network.
Endoshield can also be told to share your internet connection with other machines on you local network, providing home users with an easy and secure way to connect their network to the internet, without the risk of leaving unnecessary ports open.
The script itself is a modified version of firemasq, which was written by Dr Teeth, a member of the northern lights group.

last played 0.3
last played is a small script that shows the last 5 files a mounted iPod shuffle played in shuffle mode. more>>
last played is a small script that shows the last 5 files a mounted iPod shuffle played in shuffle mode.
Since you look at this page, you probably own an iPod shuffle. If you are like me, you like to upload new music on it, set it to shuffle mode and enjoy. Yeah!
Until there comes a song you really love or hate, but your trusty shuffle lacks a display, so there is no way to know (other than to memorize some lyrics and google for them) which song it was.
Luckily, there is an easier way: last played is a small python script that will put the last 5 (or whatever you tell it on command line) files you listened to on screen. Now you can simply delete songs you hate and give 5 stars to songs you love.
I recommend putting the last.py on the root directory of your shuffle. You can then start it from there using
python last.py
on the command line.
last played is released under the terms of the GNU GPL.
Version restrictions:
- Since the iPod shuffle recreates its shuffle sequence whenever the end of the current shuffle sequence is reached, the script might return wrong results now and then. I have not yet tested it thoroughly enough to confirm it, sorry. However, this should not happen too often.
Enhancements:
- This version now (probably) finds a shuffle under MS Windows, and detects if the sequential mode was set, showing the right files in this case.

FileTraq 0.2
FileTraq is designed to be run periodically from the root crontab. more>>
FileTraq software is designed to be run periodically from the root crontab. Each time, it compares a list of system files with the copies that it keeps. Any changes are reported in diff or patchfile style, and dated backup copies are kept.
Whats that good for?
Its designed to be an easy way to ensure that no system files are changed
without your knowledge. If youre worried about people breaking in and
changing things without you noticing, or just worried about the other guy
with root on the box changing things and forgetting to tell you, its a good
way to keep tabs on configuration files.
It can even be useful to add some sanity to your own life, by reminding you
when files are changed. If you keep track of the messages you get back from
FileTraq, youll have a rudimentary file history that will allow you to flip
back to see when you changed a certain thing. Dated backups are also kept,
just in case you nuke a file.
Hows it work?
Its just a little shell script that reads a list of files to watch, runs diff
against each file and its backup, and reports any discrepancies, along with
keeping a dated backup of the original.
Is there anything wrong with it?
Right now, it doesnt take care of its backups very well. The dated backups
will accumulate in the backups directory, bounded only by diskspace. If anyone
has an idea for a SIMPLE way to keep backups in check, let me know.
It only handles text files -- this isnt a Tripwire replacement for use with
system binaries. I suppose it could be, though.
FileTraq is not well tested or hardened. It runs as root, but all of its
config files should only be accessible by root. No security holes are known
at this time, but please be careful.

Jitterbit 1.2.3
Jitterbit is an open source integration tool that delivers a quick and easy way to design, configure, test integration solutions more>>
Jitterbit is an open source integration tool that delivers a quick and easy way to configure, design, deploy, and test integration solutions. It supports most standards-based protocols, including Web Services (SOAP), XML, and connectivity to popular databases.
Jitterbit is designed with ease-of-use in mind. You can download the suite for Linux or Windows in minutes. Once installed, you can quickly build and run complex integration processes without development efforts and take advantage of support from the Jitterbit open source community.
Jitterbit tools let you point-and-click to configure all aspects of an Integration:
- Define integration operations including source and target systems
- Create document definitions, from simple flat file structures (e.g. comma delimited) to complex hierarchic files structures.
- Use a drag-and-drop mapping tool to transform data between your various system interfaces.
- Set schedules, create success and failure events and track the results for your integration operations.
Enhancements:
- Fixed bug 1757864: insert/update fails if target key value contains () or (). (2007-07-20)
- Fixed the bug that the xml node to be created should not containing the order marker (@1, @2...) in the name. (2007-07-19)
- Add data type "float4" as t_float to the data type map. (2007-07-19)
- Fixed the problem of "< null >" string in the internal file for flat database. Symptom was that "< null >" would show up in the target, and that IsNull() would return false even when the source was null. (2007-07-16)
- Fixed the problem in the swapping of db columns for single table db to hierarchical transformation. (2007-07-14)

try(qw/a/ => is => [a]);
try( < stmt >, < cmpr >, < expected >, [ < msg > ] )
Evaluate < stmt> and compare the result to using < cmpr>. Optionally provide a < msg> to display on failure. If < msg> is not given, then one will be automatically made from < stmt>, < cmpr>, and < expected>.
try will also try to guess what representation is best for the result of the statement, whether that be single value, ARRAY, or HASH. Itll do this based on what is returned by the statement, and the type of < expected>. See `perldoc -m Test::Lazy` for more detail.
Note, if < expected> is an ARRAY or HASH, this function will convert it to its JSON representation before comparison.

# Failed test 2 + 2 == 5
# at __FILE__ line __LINE__.
# got: 4
# expected: 5

The SirBot Project 0.2
SirBot Project provides an easy way to build, program, control, and monitor amateur robots. more>>
SirBot Project provides an easy way to build, program, control, and monitor amateur robots. Programming a bot is done writing a Python class. A declaration protocol syntax is used to define what can be done (primitive/complex actions). Using a Python CLI, the robot can be interactively controlled and dynamically programmed.
While the bot is performing several actions, every piece of information is able to produce events, thanks to the event declaration syntax. Events can also be created from other events (cascading events), conditionnaly triggered under specific conditions (pre-condition), and activate user-defined actions (post-conditions) according to a particular event state. The library provides detailed instructions to build electronic boards (PIC-based) and connect them to build a robot.
Easy way to build the bot
The SirBot Project provides every instructions to build a bot. A main board provides the basic features such as communication capabilities and implementation of a defined protocol. Several module can be plugged into this main board to provide extra feature such as, currently, a servo controller, IR distance ranger. Have a look on the SirBot Module Library to see current available modules/features. Also have a look at the SirBot Labs, where you can find examples of robots built with SirBot.
Easy way to program the bot
SirBot is python-based, your robot is just an object Protocol. Thanks to the power of python and its librairies, performing complex actions is (almost) trivial. No C++ here... just a protocol declaration syntax, easy to use.
Easy way to control the bot
Because SirBot is python-based, you can access your bot with a python CLI, such as ipython, and interactively control and program your bot. Soon, a graphical interface will allow to visually control your robot.
Easy way to monitor the bots actions
While the bot performs several actions, every piece of information is able to produce events, thanks to the event declaration syntax. Events can also be created from other events (cascading events), conditionnaly triggered under specific conditions (pre-condition), and activate user-defined actions (post-conditions) according to a particular event state.
Enhancements:
- Either the robot or PC can initiate the communication (Master/Slave vs. Peer-to-Peer mode).
- Recurrent tasks can be defined as background jobs (polling the bot, etc.).
- There is a dedicated Web site, documentation, and many fixes in Jal libraries.
