Earth 0.2
Earth allows you to find files across a large network of machines and track disk usage in real time. more>>
Earth allows you to find files across a large network of machines and track disk usage in real time. The project consists of a daemon that indexes filesystems in real time and reports all the changes back to a central database.
This can then be queried through a simple, yet powerful, web interface. Think of it like Spotlight or Beagle but operating system independent with a central database for multiple machines.
Earth is initially focused on managing the explosion of data that occurs in digital visual effects work.
Enhancements:
- Many small usability improvements, several significant performance improvements for the Web application, reduced database size, code improvements, and a much improved command line interface to the Earth daemon.

Perilar 0.4
Perilar is a fast, simple computer role-playing game (CRPG), with an epic quest! more>>
Perilar is a simple, fast computer role-playing game (CRPG), with an epic quest! You will cross a vast monster-infested wilderness to the dungeons to recover ancient weapons and artifacts, then to the dragons lairs, then face the final challenge...
Version 0.4 is a beta release for designing the gameplay, and future versions will have additional art, music, and sound effects.
Save Game Warning: Savefiles from previous versions will not be compatible with later versions until 1.0. At that point, Ill make sure they are always forward-compatible, but it hampers rapid development until then. Sorry for the trouble, but at least youll get to see the new world features in each version!
History
Over a thousand years ago, the world was a peaceful but primitive place. Humans lived in tribal societies, rarely warred, and there were few dangerous animals and no monsters. Your kingdom, Perilar, was one of the safest, as it was protected by four great dragons of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.
Where the Vampire King came from, nobody knows. He appeared in the far north and turned peaceful farmers into berserker raiders. After conquering the island kingdom of Oradon, he turned their druids to necromancy, raising armies of the dead to war on the next kingdom. Kingdom after kingdom fell, and in each, the people were slain and raised as undead warriors to assault the next kingdom.
As the army of the undead approached Perilar, the dragons closed the kingdom off with a magical seal. For a thousand years, the kingdom has been trapped inside, and none know the fate of the outside world.
In recent times, the seals have begun to fail. The Dragons have not been seen in centuries. Undead and monsters march in towards the castle of King Phalan and the village of Perilar, home to the last free people in the world. A great hero must do something about this, and you are determined to be that hero!

CMap 0.2
CMap is a cross map API designed to make coding and switching between online maps such as Google and Yahoo easier. more>>
CMap project is a cross map API designed to make coding and switching between online maps such as Google and Yahoo easier and quicker.
Currently, CMap can generate Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, and Google Earth KML files. There are many more advanced plans for CMap, and I intend to support it for a long time as it has a practical application for myself.
Written in Php, CMap is very easy to use and the INSTALL file contains code examples of how to get CMap up and running easily and as soon as possible.
Enhancements:
- This release moves the Google Map API to v2.
- It includes better memory management, especially in Internet Explorer.

xscorch 0.2.0
xscorch project is a a game about annihilating enemy tanks using overpowered guns. more>>
xscorch project is a a game about annihilating enemy tanks using overpowered guns.
Xscorch is a clone of the classic DOS game "Scorched Earth".
The basic goal is to annihilate enemy tanks using overpowered guns.
Players can purchase weapons and accessories to defend their tank, and they can attack enemy tanks by adjusting the angle of the tanks turret and the firing power.
Xscorch supports gameplay with humans and computer AIs, and network gameplay is in development.
Enhancements:
KNOWN BUGS:
- Some moves/items are interpreted locally instead of sent through the network server like they should be. It contributes to desync.
- Graphics/Computers are fast - hangs and crashes have been reported.
- The wedge code sometimes draws straight ends instead of rounded ones.
- Leap Frogs fail to leap in Interleaved Mode, because the land is not cleared by one explosion before the next missile is animated...
- The man page is out of date enough to notice.
BUG FIXES:
- Removed excessive assertion in seconomy-gtk.c (thanks Gunnar).
- Fix snet header file inclusion.
- Only sa_handler OR sa_sigaction in handler (cross compatibility).
- Repaired two bugs in sgame/soptions.c (fixes solaris compiles).
MISCELLANEOUS:
- License restricted to version 2 of the GPL.
- Easter Egg wars :)
- Fixed #warnings or changed them to /* TEMP */ for 0.2.0 release.

KBillar 1.0.2
KBillar is a 3D billiard game played over multiple surfaces. more>>
KBillar project is a 3D billiard game played over multiple surfaces.
KBillar is a billiard game in which everything is user-definable: the table, borders, ball properties, gravity, etc. The user can choose to play billiards on surfaces such as a sphere, a cylinder, or a torus, or in any map which can be expressed as z(x,y). To parse complex mathematical maps, KBillar uses methods from Kalamaris.
KBillar uses a sophisticated 3D interface to make the experience more interesting and also uses a KDE user interface.
To parse complex mathematical maps, KBillar uses methods from Kalamaris.
Main features:
- KBillar allows the user to play billiard on:
- A Sphere
- A Cylinder
- A Torus
- Any z(x,y) function like z(x,y)=0 (the usual, flat table), z(x,y)=cos(y) ( a "wave" table), z(x,y)=Cos(x)*Sin(y), or whatever (see the screenshots for some eye-candy).
- The user can define his own borders for the tables, so that you can play billiard on a square table, a circular table, a star table, etc. You can even play billiard in a maze, and also, its possible to mix different surfaces with each of these (and others) borders. The possibilities are infinite ! The format of the files that define a border is so easy that everyone can add its own borders.
- The state of the balls can be saved to continue a game later or to generate a special case manually and start from a well-known position.
- Theres even no need for all balls to be the same size. You can define the radius of each ball.
- Theres a mode of earth simulation where balls are shown as satellites above earth, and you can play billiard with satellites :-).
- The detail level is configurable for those with less CPU power. Textures can be enabled/disabled, and numerical steps can be adjusted for more/less precise calculations.
- Be a ball yourself ! Theres a mode in which you _are_ the ball and you can rotate around the table. Ever wanted to know how a billiard ball feel ? :-)
- Theres also special effort in making KBillar as real as possible by using phisically correct equations to simulate the movements and hits.

Marble 0.3
Marble is an early beta preview of the Marble Widget application which is targeted for KDE 4. more>>
Marble is an early beta preview of the Marble Widget application which is targeted for KDE 4.
You need to install both packages: "marble" and "marble-data" to run Marble.
Marble is a generic geographical map widget that is meant to be used by KDE4 applications. It shows the earth as a sphere but doesnt make use of any hardware acceleration (No OpenGL). So although it might look similar to professional applications like Google Earth or Nasa World Wind its rather meant to be a small light weight multi purpose widget. To improve speed I decided to compile the Kubuntu packages with SSE support (-msse).
Main features:
- Marble uses a minimal free dataset that can be used offline. Currently the total amount of data that is meant to be shipped is about 5 MB.
- Marble doesnt use OpenGL or 3D hardware acceleration. It just uses Arthur as a painting backend. Extending it later on to support OpenGL as well shouldnt be hard however I dont consider that the primary focus. Depending on your hardware and the maps being displayed framerate is approximately 5-20 fps.
- Marble uses vector as well as bitmap data: Currently it uses the very old MWDB II data combined with ETOPO 2, which I will update to current SRTM soon.
- Marble displays the world map as a 3D sphere, because its more fun to use and less subject to distortion (So with regard to that its just like NASA WorldWind, Earth3D and Google Earth)
- Marble should start up almost instantly. Currently it "cold" starts fully within 2-5 seconds. On each subsequent start it takes about one second.
- Uses KML-Import to display places (Google Earths open format to store placemarks)
- Cities Down to 12000 inhabitants that you can click on using the mouse. Highest Mountains of each continent. Automatic Placemark label placement.
- Different Map Themes, Layers
- Dynamic Coordinate Grid
- Measure Tool
- Basic Wikipedia integration

Xplanet 1.2.0
Xplanet is an Xearth wannabe. more>>
Xplanet was inspired by Xearth, which renders an image of the earth into the X root window. All of the major planets and most satellites can be drawn, similar to the Solar System Simulator.
A number of different map projections are also supported, including azimuthal, Lambert, Mercator, Mollweide, orthographic, and rectangular.
Enhancements:
- Added the -grs_longitude option, to specify the longitude of Jupiters Great Red Spot, in System II coordinates. This assumes the Jupiter image has the center of the Great Red Spot at pixel 0 (at the left side of the image) in order to draw it at the right position.
- Added the Icosagnomonic projection, contributed by Ian Turner.
- Fixed a bug where output filenames had an extra digit in some cases.
- Added the bump_map and bump_scale options in the configuration file.
- Added the -glare option to set the size of the suns glare.
- An image map may be specified for the sun in the configuration file now. A shade value is now required for the sun (should be 100, otherwise the sun will have a night side!)
- Added the -arc_spacing option to set the default angular distance between great arc points. It used to be 0.1 degree, so arcs smaller than this wouldnt get drawn.
- Fixed a bug where markers were not aligned properly when using align = "above" or "below".
- Added warnings if options are specified in the [default] section of the configuration file that probably shouldnt be there.
